Cobbles 2018: De Panne - E3 - Wevelgem - Dwars Door - Scheldeprijs
clamel
Sometimes one think that "Rather losing the race then given someone else in the chasing group the win" goes into cyclists in those chasing groups.

They had every shot to close but just didn't do it because they looked around on everyone else.

They had tired legs but Terpstra must have been spent completely.
Dragging noone with you looked to be more important on all the attacks. Soemone should have gone for "Make it or brake". He might have done.

Great race and all glory to Terpstra but surely the chasing group surely dropped the ball.

can't understand strategy used by BMC...they also rode at least 10 km in splitted groups GVA and other for just few seconds, probably was better to merge the energy and work for GVA without boil him with Gilbert on his wheel

I guess the idea was that GVA was pretty spent having failed to bridge the gap to Terpstra earlier. The aim was to just use Kung with GVA now and again to set up Roelandts for the sprint should Terpstra have been caught.

I guess if all three had worked together then most of the other riders would've sat on, with the exception of Benoot who it seems was willing to help everybody.

Overall an interesting race tactically but not an overly exciting one due to the tactics being played out

Oh what have they done to my beloved Driedaagse? Sad
Anyways, just watched the highlights of E3 after missing the race and it looks like there was an excellent race action. And Phil looked good. Cool
Not happy to see Terpstra winning though.

Also, this is a bike race, not a tea party. They shouldn't wait for every crash.

It was a crash that nearly took all but 30 riders out of contention with three hours left to race.

If they want to race, they can. And when this happens to QS in another race, then the other teams can go full gas. I don't have a problem with this.

It's hard to make a succesfull move when the rider in front has two team-mates who are covering every single move in that group

Really good race. Lampaert MVP doing massive work for Terpstra and Niki deservedly winning even though he is still abit of a douche. Gilbert rocketing at times was awesome to see, the man is doing a Valv hopefully. Just getting better with age. GVA riding like a bull, on pure strength. Sorry I doubted. Greg is out for blood at Ronde Cool Quick Step played it perfectley, and I loved the dynamic on the last kilometers. Always exciting to see the will it stick, won't it-action going down.

It's been a lively G-W, but still very much on hand for the sprints. The breakaway though looks very well for a surprise victory.

6 km and it looks that we'll have a sprint, but there are several riders who could attack in the final kms

Viviani  Wasnt a fan of QS riding for a sprint versus Sagan especially with so many options

Weird to see that GVA didnt do anything. Not even contested the sprint. So out of character for him.

All my bias aside Phil is still the favourite for Ronde. Clearly the strongest.
