Vancouver starting off good, Kozhatayev didn't have the holeshot but I'm confident he can fight for the win, but I'm really counting on our depth to score big in here, the team looks amazing yet again

Vancouver stage 3: https://pcmdaily.c...st_1284332
Vancouver stage 4 and 5: https://pcmdaily.c...st_1284333
Spoiler The early attack from the top two on stage 4 proved to be the decisive move. Puts them in a very good position in the GC.
Looks like only one sprinter showed up here

Just as i said after Stage 2, Sanz also delivers great stage result after leading-out Pelucchi Another 2 stage wins for the Italian, securing also the Points jersey. What a race for him. Rabottini has been very disappointing in the race so far, with Madrazo still saving a top10 spot for us. Hopefully in the final mountain stage he does something, like breakaway or attack for the stage win, because he'll get ripped in the final TT
I guess that when the two best sprinters in a race are from the same team, it's not hard to imagine what will happen in the sprints

Good planning with Pelucchi indeed, Aquarius.
I'm extremely happy with Fuglsang, looks like he initiated the decisive attack on stage 4, he and Caruso gained lots of time against the strong field of contenders in this race. We have a similar mountain stage ahead of us and the final ITT, so nothing's decided yet.
He apparently can't expect much support from his mountain train, next best rider on stage 4 was Van Winden with MON 63, who led home the group with Simon and Lowsley-Williams while super domestique Monsalve was MIA again, finishing another 3 minutes behind.

Great cooperation there Ripley, now the same for the last mountain stage please.
No in all seriousness that was a great ride from Caruso. Hopefully he can somewhat repeat that on the next stage or maybe even gain a little bit on Fuglsang, as the current gap is not very reassuring.

I certainly wouldn't mind the same cooperation on the next stage. Though it'd be nice of Caruso to let Fuglsang win the stage this time, he's won a stage race, but no single stage yet. But I guess the competition is too tough to hope our guys break clear again, just not losing any time to the rest, Talansky especially, would be nice.

I'd be very much ok with that If you tell Fuglsang not to overtake Caruso in the final time trial.

Vancouver is complete: https://pcmdaily.c...st_1284333
Spoiler Weird one-rider per terrain dominated race this! The promotion fight is alive and well in the CT.

I should have taken your deal, Vali! What a performance by Caruso! Congrats! But I'm also very happy with Fugsang's result, there was a lot of competition here and I'm sure a lot of managers are disappointed.

Big one for Caruso! Also Fuglsang awesome again, such a CT superstar he is!
Meanwhile the opening stage in Portugal is done. The other 10 will come frequently over the next 3 days!

This month was "meh" for us. Nothing really to say. Was expecting something better.
Thanks for the reports! |

Portugal looking good so far, Poels lost a little too much against Duarte on the first mountain stage but then halved the gap with yet another good ITT. Maybe I'll take a closer look at the end of the season, but I believe Poels has easily outperformed his TTR 70 in every time trial so far - making up for Dowsett's consistent underperformances.

Thanks a lot Ripley and I told you.
Ok that was a lot more than I could have hoped for. Even winning the time trial, just a phenomenal race from Caruso, especially considering the opposition. Interestingly he is more inconsistent than last year but when he's on he's really on.
Thank you for all these reports Abhi!

We continue with stages 4-6. Stage 6 was epic madness for a hilly stage.

Some pretty large gaps in Portugal already, but I guess that was to be expected. Duarte seems to be in good form, it'll be difficult to beat him. But we have more tough stages ahead.
