Awesome race!
Mlakar really showing some strong stuff there with an amazing performance and after that Klasa was able to steal third because he didn't have to touch the wind, shame for Plesec but obviously I won't be complaining.
Thanks Jandal! Fantastic reading!

I was hoping was a better result from Rodriguez, but either he isn't as good as i hoped, or, the most likely, the route didn't suit him 100%. A top5 is still a very decent result for the first cobbled race of the season.
7th in the rankings is very fine atm. Sanchez and Rodriguez have barely ride anything (the first a hilly classic and a mountain race, the other the cobbled classic and one race as preparation), so it looks good to keep improving in the rankings

Let's hope Sanchez isn't injured... Rodriguez with a top15 finish was good.
Thanks for the great report jandal!

Damn, Damn, Damn, Damn, Damn
Knew we had to get rid of Rosenkhast somehow and we didn't and it cost us. He was stronger than our guys in the break and then strong enough to help Thorvaldsson at the end. The Cartamundi faithful are not pleased this morning.
Despite the outcome, great race report. Thanks. |

Oh yes. What a big move. The team executed the tactics perfectly. Pikkula and Rosenkharst working the move to perfection, pressuring the opponence and allowing Yeray to save his energy just a little bit more than the others. Then a perfect execution by Yeray, putting the hammer down at the exact right moment. I would have loved to see Rosenkharst taking it after those huge efforts, glad that he can take a Top 10 home. That was racing at it''s best, thanks jandal for the awesome report.
Also: What is better for a man with basque roots then cracking his spanish nemesis on the final kilomter to take a huge win?

Hah. The one who deserved to win was Puymbroek. Riding away from all the favorites and putting the race on the line. Nobody worked with him. If the Cartamundi DS doesn't screw up and have his boys help Rosenkharst at first then Rosenkhast is just a big piece of furniture at the end.

Loving the rivalry of the puncheur teams Brave race by Puymbroeck, would have loved the see him take a home race in fine style but Thorvaldsson was just a little too strong with fresh legs. Indeed I liked the imagery of him vs Lopez a lot Croatia, thought I included it in there but oh well If Lopez had a bit more left he could have taken the win easy though by hanging on to Yeray

Evening of the 21st deadline for Yarra, 25th for Lossi/Murg. Hope to keep a decent pace leading up to Easter now my major early schoolwork is done

Thanks for the report Jandal that was great!
Congratz to Croatia also, as for us Berger did good, and Nimov's presence in the Top20 is a good sign, also eyeing the good strenght in depth we had at a vital part of the race.

A not too "hard" TT and a non-selective stage may I remind you

Some thrilling Yarra reports so far, thanks jandal. Pratik and Bertlinger with some excellent team play, and Eruzione delivering so far. Really hoping to end this early season SANZA period with a race win.

Great reports! Meh race for us so far. Didn't expect much with DeClerq and the early TT tbh. Hopefully we can be a bit better in the remaining stages.

How did our team miss the break when the full team is sent to get every break back that doesn't include us. We set up our team for exactly this scenario, and on the stage where it mattered we failed. Bitter, but better races to come for the team on the horizon.

Amazing win of Sanchez!! He also ends 4th in GC, which adds to Simoni's 9th place. They will be probably splitted for the July Mountain Tours, but it's good to know that if they would ride together, Sanchez would have a great support in the Italian, and they could work like a double threat with Simoni's great TT abilities (and that could be something to "work" the near-future)
