Podium finish for Cav is a great result and a handful of seconds over his big sprint rivals is welcome but the bonus seconds are where this will be won and lost.
I hope the Irvine, Kreder, Maikin train can continue their great leadout work this season.
Its a great report that features the word polyvalent in context, thanks tsmoha!

Very decent 5th place by Daniel. That's probably already all of the stages he will race for himself, from now on he has to support Guerao, who unfortunately already lost very much. Also I had small hopes that Oba could do well, but he was way off. I believe he had a top 10 in this stage last year, when Franzoi won the prologue for my team.
Cavendish now is of course already in the pole position to win this race. I expect him to take over yellow already in the next stage and with the jersey bonus it will be hard for anyone to move past him. |

Wow, how does Wisniowski not win this prologue?

That's the question I've been asking myself the last hours... Clearly not on a very good day and Vermote on a good day. Should be winning here at least 9/10 times, I'd say.

My real hope is for Darren Matthews. The Barbadian has continued to impress this year in flater stage races, and he could be a surprise package yet again given he has some sprint skill and time trial skill and cobble skill..
He's started off as i predicted, impressing again! Matching Burghardt is a big ride and i have hope he might be able to hang onto some GC points come the end.
Otherwise decent race for Podium Ambition, by faaaaaaaaaaaar our best ITT of the year

Congrats to Selwink! Now bring on the flatter stages and a bit of Wind too would be lovely :)

Not a great showing from Appo, looks like he picked a bad line. Plenty more opportunities though. Nice to see Krigbaum in the break.
Really sorry for all the crash victims.

Not a bad sprint by Van Asbroeck, but I'm already counting down to the end of the race
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Puh, was really worried when Wisniowski & co didn't make the catch early. Seeing how they ended up sprinting side by side, I'm guessing the result could have been better, but glad to get two guys inside the top 10. Hopefully more of that the coming days.
Strong win by Kennaugh, and some important seconds for Cav as well. Quite a good lead for him so far, will be interesting to see if anyone can catch him.

Guess I can already forget about a good GC from Guerao, but at least the group of riders involved in the crash made it back. I just hope he isn't injured and his bad result can be explained by the fatigue he had due to the chasing. |

Terrible day for a few teams with crashes.... buuuuut those crashes made for one of the most interesting and exciting stages of the year so far!
Ricki did good enough, contesting the sprint nicely. We might get a few ok points from this race

Solid effort. Looking Cicero wasn't quite there in the beginning of the race last year either so I'll hold on to a tiny bit of optimism just a little while longer...

We got a train which was good, shame we couldn't quite finish it off though and Vantomme ended up not doing too well. Satisfied with that though, at least we're trying.
Thanks for the report!

It's a shame the crashes marred a memorable day for Kraftwerk with Cav pulling on the leaders jersey. Bit of a messy sprint so he was lucky to get a good racing line.
Hope the team are up to defending the jersey, they have not had much experience in that department.
Thanks for the report tsmoha.

Of course NOW Ivano can win the bunch sprint
At least we managed to close the gap so a stage win will do much. Last year the GC win was secured bu stage wins on stage 4 and 5 and if we get the train going as well in the coming stages we could still see something good from it.
De Haes winning could prove to be move deciding the relegation battle to the advantage of Minions seeing their recent success and our increasing collapse.

Kenny winning again. Nice rider! Cruicial result for Minions, who have delivered well the last weeks. Poor stage for us. Too many riders gettting far up in the GC. Luckily no gaps, so we still hold the teams classification.
Thanks for the report, tsmoha.
