Laporte is already becoming an early season problem for the stats team.
As Trek would say, end the problem giving him 85 in sprint
I think we'll get a true picture of how he should be over the coming months. I haven't seen him race this year and my knowledge on him is based on last season and Aldrofj looks more at the French races than me. But I know he's riding the opening Belgian classics and clearly will ride P-N and MSR so that will be a good indicator.
Agreed, this Laporte is a true nightmare.
Let's talk about the Tour of Oman, where we could encounter some surprises this year. Nathan Haas won the second stage ahead of a small group, and yesterday, GVA won the third stage with an amazing demonstration of power. He's now 25'' ahead of Lopez, about 30'' of Kudus and Nibali. If BMC try something today, they may lose seconds again.
When I see the previous performances of non-climber riders on Green Mountain, I see some great stuff from Boasson Hagen or Haas, and I think that GVA could resist, even if Lopez looks strong.

Pity that Amaro Antunes crashed out luckily he seems okay so it was just a mere precaution, he was riding decently in the early stages. |

Amazing, Astana is about to make a 1-2-3 with Hirt, Lopez and Lutsenko.

Only managed 1-2, Lopez won ahead of Lutsenko. Hirt lost some seconds, and I think came behind Izagirre and, maybe, Jesus Herrada
Correction: he fell to 24th place, Herrada came 3rd, Izagirre 4th and Nathan Haas 5th. Lutsenko leads the GC.

Not even in the top 10 !
Great result for Nathan Haas, a little disappointment for Kudus and Nibali. GVA totally disappeared.

Is Lutsenko getting to the point where he is THE most complete rider in the peloton? Thoughts..

Make it happen please
@Yellow: Still a long way to go imo, especially because Kwiatek has the title at the moment pretty locked up. Lutsenko would have to start winning monuments and time trials to top Kwiatek.

Lopez with Hirt, Kangert and the others would be a serious problem for Sky.

Kwiat is a little more complete than both imo (marginally). |

Yeah there are some that may top him but I see him in a couple of years being at Kwiat level.
Although it looks like he has been here for ages, he's only 25.. And I really like his very agressive racing style, plus he's got a very big engine (and for anybody who sees him on strava, his power output is insane for a 70Kg rider)

Kwiato, Moscon, Wellens, Lutsenko, Valverde, Dumoulin, Nibali.. a lot of super versatile riders in the peloton atm, gotta love it. |
