So i opened a Womens Cycling 2018 thread, having done so for the previous few years as well. This time around i didn't put up a bit of an introduction to soome of the top teams + riders, i put quite a bit of time into them in the past for what felt like no real reason. Did put up the WWT calendar and other notable races cause that takes very little time. Updated on the Aussie/NZL nationals and then nothing else. That's a big change from the past where i've written about most Spring races before dropping off over Summer when i wasnt on Daily do much.

I've scaled back all that posting and work here because, whilst i love the womens side of the sport and still follow it as closely as ever, it never really got that much feedback or interaction from the community. So not many others are that into womens cycling, i'm not going to force anyone to get interested just like there are others who love Cyclo-cross or MTB which i have no feeling towards.

But i do feel the whole womens side is seriously underrated and underappreciated. No question in my mind that the racing is consistently more exciting and unpredictable. No question in my mind that the personalities are more unique and genuine and interesting. I'm more engaged with almost every aspect of the womens side than the mens.
So off Daily i've been practicing writing for a Blog around womens cycling. Putting together various race reports, previews, news and general talk. Just seeing if i could actually do something like this consistently and to a good level.
Long story short, i have an awful lot of practice still to do before any of it went online... So instead i'm here to recommend a few personalities, twitters and sites to look at if you want to follow or get into womens cycling:

Obvious but easy to miss. Cycling News does have a dedicated womens section and is my go-to source for most news about womens cycling. They also get some good blogs from pro-riders as well.

My #1 source for transfer news later in the year. It is a good source for races, results, rosters, palmares and links to interviews from tons of places.

Plus PCS also is good for results and rosters.

I went to see it on the Friday the day after it came out, so on day 2 of its release. I never go to see films that early into their cycle, tending to wait a few weeks until the cinemas are quieter and sometimes cheaper. But it's Infinity War and this was the best way to avoid spoilers.
It was a damn good film! Marvel and the Russo's nailed the opening sequence to establish genuine threat and then didn't let up on the pacing. It's a long film but at no stage was i bored or feeling tired.
Ok there was an issue going in, i knew what films were coming out post-Infinity War so i wasn't worried those characters would die. But there was enough unknown futures and ability to change around teams line-ups to still generate real danger in this film.
Infinity War isn't the best MCU film, that still is held by Captain America: The Winter Soldier, but i think it's in my Top 5. (#1 Winter Soldier, #2 CA: First Avenger, #3 Spiderman, #4 Thor Ragnarok, #5 Infinity War having replaced Civil War).

Anyway, i thought it was a great movie. And as a culmination of 10 years of set-up it delivered hugely. Marvel has done something truly incredible with the MCU and has deeply changed the enterainment industry in the process.
I'm hyped for Ant Man & The Wasp, because Paul Rudd is just wonderful in everything. Captain Marvel will be really interesting and includes a return to the big-screen for Agent Coulsen, and in setting up Avengers 4. Before of course we get Avengers 4 and the conclusion of 3 Phase's, 11 years, 22 films and 12 TV shows.

Speaking of TV shows, i maintain Agents of Shield is one of the best series on tv for the last 5 years! And i cannot recommend it highly enough to anyone who likes comics, Marvel, the MCU, or action/thriller/sci-fi stuff in general.
From season 1 showing the effect of Winter Soldier in a wider world and on real people, which is fascinating to watch and again is something new Marvel did that is super clever and brilliant.
Season 2 tackling more fall-out from that, and introducing Inhumans expanding the MCU's use and experience of powered individuals.
Season 3 basically stepping in for a lack of X-Men with some clever work on rights and trust for superpowered people, and still dealing with Hydra.
Season 4 becoming something really really special... omg Season 4 is one of best seasons of TV ever... Adding Ghost Rider to the MCU was excellent. The LMD's bringing a new personal threat. Before culminating with a fantastic What If homage that tore right into the hearts of these characters.
Season 5 has done a great job exploring the repurcutions of that What If moment, as well as tying in nicely with the wider universe in the MCU and i bet these final 2 episodes, probably the final 2 episodes of the whole show, will be stellar.
