Underwhelming ITT. However, 2nd overall is very much in reach for Brändle...

Alright by LLS, wasn't really sure what I was expecting so will count that as a good result.
Big stage for Festina though, will be hard for Coppel to lose this now!

I don't want to jinx anything for you, but you have less than 1 minute to these riders:
Kazushige Kuboki
Dan Craven
Lars Boom
Rui Costa
Mekseb Debesay
Yuri Trofimov
I have Coppel at 76HI, while Brändle is only 71HI and I'm still not sure that we will manage to keep Trofimov and Costa behind.
Brändle have a great opportunity to get top 5, but you should be cheering like a wild man if he get's to 2nd IMO.

Well great result for us in that TT, but now the time Haugard and Johansson lost in stage 2 is even more anoying. Not like they would have had anything in top 10 anyway. But cant be unhappy after two guys in Top 6.
Congrats to the double SotD! |

Very interesting result in the amount of gaps created, and in highlighting the relevant weakness of the TT field. Definitely makes me wish that I brought Teklehaimanot!
5 riders between 12th and 21st in the GC is great, and I'd settle for that for sure. In reality, some will fall back (Kiflay, Hamza), but the others could move forward. Craven is nicely placed and perhaps the most likely, but Debesay was strong on the California hill stage so could do the same, and Hadi maybe has a shout at the U25 jersey.
All depends on the gaps really, both with attacking puncheurs, and dropping time triallists.
Excellent ride by Festina, and clearly some good race planning in evidence - meanwhile very unlucky for Tinkoff to see Trofimov fail so bad. Still, expect it to be between Trofimov, Costa and Coppel for the GC.

No comment. Are we even gonna score any GC points from this?
Not sure I've ever dreaded a rankings update as much as the next one.

From a neutral or puncheur's perspective, that's a disappointing stage.
But from Eritel's perspective, it is tremendous! Three in the Top 10 of a PTHC is a great outcome. Almost certain to be Craven and Hadi's best rides of the season, while Debesay again finds a way to score at PTHC level - further justifying the decision to be more patient on him maxing out.

Selander's KoM hides the fact that Betancourt is total shite in these kind of races. Disappointing to see such a big group, would have wanted Betancourt to gain a lot of places in the GC. Let's hope Selander can defend the KoM tomorrow.

Apart from Ludvigsson break attempt veryvery lame from us.
Just hope we are strong enough to chase the break tomorrow and give Ahlstrand a chance to win the last stage and protect the pts jersey.
Festina having a nice form lately, congrats SotD!
Atleast we have one guy in top 50... |

Whoah, did not expect much from this race especially with reichenbach loaing all that time early, but Goncalves sitting in 4th and leading the team ranking is pretty surreal. I hope nothing at all happens in the next stage!

Invisible on stage one as expected really. Kuboki taking part in the sprint on stage 2 is promising, but bonus seconds could have been useful there. Kwok and Kuboki moving into Top 10 positions thanks the TT on stage 3 is great though.
Shame to see Kwok drop out of the GC like that but Kuboki into 3rd is amazing. If Kuboki can survive stage 4 he should hopefully survive the final stage as well, which would be a great result for us here, based on expectations.

Told ya still a difficult Stage to come though - feels so sweet to have Brändle finally performing, Bazhkou and Mugerli doing well and Quevedo attacking (patheticly)
Still a very difficult stage to come, but a podium would be stellar. Now just stay safe on the last stage, perfect would be Quevedo in the break

Great to not only secure Coppel another day in the lead and a very comfortable position unless all hell breaks lose, but also for my 3rd leader to win a stage. It's really cool to have picked 4 strong riders and then see them take 3 wins and a 2nd place.
One small annoying thing, though, is that Jérémy Roy wasn't able to stay with a group of 75 riders to continue our lead in the Team GC. He really should have been able to perform better. If he would have survived the group he would have also been in 14th overall. Looking at what kind of riders managed to survive that group he should have done so easily with his 76HI stat. Especially seeing at what times my riders dropped and who did the chasing at the critical moments.
But that's a minor thing (although the 59 points it costed in total would have been very usefull).
Sorry to croatia for being pessimistic. I really didn't expect to see none of the big guns give at a go... Must feel like a horrible waste of racedays to have picked Trofimov for this one, despite him still scoring a decent amount of points.

Always a bit disappointing to see a so little selective hilly stage, but oh well. Fantastic race for SotD so far, also a very good race for our PCT colleagues so far. Will be interesting to see if anything can be changed on the final stage.

Domination nation for Festina here. Also possibly a great result for our friends from Isostar and Eritel. Congrats guys.

Why were we working there?
6th is nice though and a top 20 is alright, much more than I expected from this race at least.
Congrats on the hatrick Sod and thanks again Abhishek!
