Seems to be annoying that so many ridden and many riders go out because of injuries caused by crashes. There are many big names that go out because of it |

You can lower the crash ratio in the settings, you know right?

@matt17br what would the 50/50 do? is this like: there is as much chance for crashes and to have no crashes? do you tweak is to get the a realistic outcome? |

Isn't the crash ratio a multiplier between 0x and 3x? It means that on 1x the crashes will be as many as real life - or at least Cyanide's idea of real life crashes. On 3x they'll be three times as much etc.

Do you know what this is based on?
I want to keep it as realistic as possible. Should it be on 1.0 then? |

1.0 is pretty ok, it's probably what Cyanide think is closest to reality. Personally, I like to set it a bit lower, to 0.8.

Thanks for input. Personally i'm wondering why Cyanide made this feature.
Do they want riders to crash more often? hell yeah |

Sadly I think we tend to forget how often riders are injuried in real life.
100% may be a bit over the top but not that far off.

Well for example I tend to find x2 the most realistic. In a normal 4 hour stage there are many crashes, but most are small and not really important as the riders almost always get on with the race and some aren't even reported.
x1 sees very little crashes during the race and it's something that has to be taken into account of course

Well yes but it also depends on the weather, condition, speed etc. Cyanide should not give the user the option, but calculate this into the gameplay.
I personally tried to put it on 1.5 and that resulted in waaay too many crashes.
On the other way around I think the frequency of crashes in classics are way too low. It kind of annoys me when I finish Paris-Rubaix with 30 riders in the leading group... |

But is that an issue with crashes ?
Would not want 25 of those to crash out would you ?
Seems to me that is an issue with the riders stats or something ?
Havent played 2017 but the many versions I have tried that do not happen often, at least not playing on hard or higher.

in pcm 2017 I think there are to many big crashes, the frequency is a kind of low with 1.0, but the number of riders going down on every crash is soooo high

Indeed. PCM should integrate crash as a value/stat for each rider. Some riders are crashing more than others.
Many would disagree in this but I think the ratio option in settings are totally BS. |

Eh, I don't get what the fuss is about. Crashes have never been perfectly realistic in PCM, but they're mostly fine. Sure, there's some big crashes happening a bit too often for my liking on 1.0, which is why I like lowering it to 0.8 the rare occasions I play.
The frequency is also pretty normal with 1.0 honestly, you gotta look in the events tab and notice how many crashes you miss very often when playing that would be shown in a TV broadcast. I mean, if you still aren't fine with the frequency it's not like you can't tweak it to be 3x higher.
Plus you gotta consider PCM is smart in adjusting the crash ratio for each condition. So of course, as expected, the crash ratio will be radically different in a rainy Roubaix when compared to a sunny Champs Elysées stage.
