C1 events South Africa, De Panne, Nakhon and Betonexpressz were the biggest races this month for most CT teams with Langkawi and San Marino Hill Classic being the C2 options.
No C2HC in April but some teams took the gamble on HC level in Vancouver and Dutch Food Valley.
Let`s just start with Vancouver actually. Usually not the highest scoring but this season a bit different. After WCC`s GP Herning last month also Azteca did very well in Canada. 102 points on 7 race days, not too bad. 15pts for VMP and Dutch Food Valley Classic again a usual event. 23 pts for WCC, which is okay but not super impressive.
Similar the scoring in Nakhon. Only 13 pts for WCC and 12 pts for Proximus while Betonexpressz saw In-n-Out doing well with 39.
Stage races in C1 seem to offer more in average and this was impressively shown in De Panne. Cobbles are always good for CT teams and hence not even a big surprise that Goldcorp even won the race. Maybe a small one but probably the terrain, where CT can annoy the bigger PCT the most.
Also WCC with 98 and Löbau with 45 did well.
Then onto C2. San Marino Hill saw yet again a breakaway striking. Campari this way scored most with 48 points while also Telia, Proximus, Sancor or VMP had a solid race.
Langkawi then the duel between Valls and Penasa in the CT mountains. Yet again Valls showed his strength and won both mountain stages and the GC seeing the Repsol team taking 132 points from those 7 days in Malaysia.
Reddit at 92, Telia 67, Kulczyk 62 also with decent scoring.
The first two are very close but it`s WCC taking over and being the new CT leader and even with one of the least race days used. Kulczyk drop to 2nd while also Repsol (new 3rd) and In-n-Out (4th) swapped positions. And as also Xero remains 5th the promotion area saw now big changes.
Behind though Goldcorp really closed the gap and also Azteca is not far behind just like Sauber, which should make it a nice next months.
Philips and Proximus dropped a bit but still not far behind the top5-
At the bottom Garmin, Statoil and VMP really lack the points yet. Same for Wiggle and Löbau even though their gap isn`t that big. Though for all of them. One perfect race and they move out of the bottom.
Eddie Stobart wasn`t racing Langkawi and hence no Suaza there to maybe score for them and this way remain at the lower end just like Sancor or Balkan ahead.

Individually Valls and Penasa swap places again. The Spaniard being the first CT rider to go over 300 points while also Penasa still has a nice gap to the next.
Harrison from 13th to 3rd and Lebris from 147th to 4th with nice performances this season while Haller in 5th remains best sprinter with Salleh not far behind though.
Eastman from 18th to 8th might not be the CT star Azteca had hoped but still a decent scorer while Karnulin as 10th dropped a bit but still having a good season.

Over 110 points to the 6th team, and all the gap will disappear during May races Time for the rest of the team to step up a little in a Valls-less month. And btw, that top15 goal looks pretty safe
Valls' season is being almost perfect so far, and our current place in promotion spots is basically thanks to him (60% of the total points are his).
One thing i'm noticing is the very low ammount of PpRD this season compared to last season. I mean, with the current projected rankings, only 8 teams would cross the 1000-point mark, and last season 12 teams made it - and in the April update of last season, 15 teams! had a projection over 1000 points. I guess that having a strict C2HC calendar is the biggest factor on this.

Was hoping for more in Langkawi.. May should be a bit slow aswell with only Windhoek and Faso in the calendar.
Goldcorp really picking up good points, and with Faso coming I wouldn't be suprised to see them climb even more up the standings. WCC and Repsol also deserve kudos for this month, Azteca had a bit of a gamble but payed off, i expect Eastman to get much stronger later in the season.

Thanks for the analysis roturn
We've fallen off the boil a bit recently, even considering a solid 3rd place at Langkawi. 3rd isn't 1st or 2nd for Penasa in a race without Eastman, so it was a bit below expectations. However, May comes with several opportunities.
It will be interesting to see how the likes of cycleYorkshire, Team Reddit and even Aeropostal climb the standings as they use up more of their race days. We're hoping it will be more of a grinding climb with plenty of falls, but ryant in particular has put together a team worth considering for promotion.
As of right now, very pleased with 2nd, and much more pleased with our projected PPRD ratio in 2nd as well.

The title fight is shaping up nicely with WCC and Kulczyk up top with In-n-Out and Xero in fighting distance. Repsol and Goldcorp the two surprises so far but i think both are supject to drop a lot in the remainder of the season as Rafael Valls probably has used already quite a few race days and Cedric Lebris probably cannot repeat his coup too often
Philips dropped slightly which was somehow expected given the calendar and i really hope they can fight back in the second half of the season.
cycleYorkshire is still the unknown of the division with so few RDs raced and a very high PPRD. Top 10 should be a given but whether they can attack the direct promotion spots will be seen. Reddit is a similar case although i think the projection is a bit too gently for them.
Proximus is also doing well above expectations so far.
Thanks for the update
now to the prediction watch:
(sorry, i hadnt the time to write it up for the 3rd update)
Current correlations:
Place | #4 | Prediction | 1 | 0,8978 | Vien | 2 | 0,8259 | Jandal's jandally CT Preview | 3 | 0,8202 | Aquarius97 | 4 | 0,8178 | Matt17br | 5 | 0,7952 | Croatia's Sustainable Quocient Prediction | 6 | 0,7872 | Knockout's CT Prediction | 7 | 0,7575 | Tamijo's Mathestimat | 8 | 0,7115 | SN's Slightly Mathematical CT Preview | 9 | 0,6581 | AbishekLFC's CT 2017 Rankings - Co-efficient Based | 10 | 0,6009 | Marcovdw's OVR Final Ranking |
Still looks very similar to the last update. 100% subjective (and quick) predictions are still dominating the more arithmetic ones. Vien still cruising alone at the top. Big reasons for that are having Repsol higher than everybody else, Proximus higher than most and cycleYorkshire lower than most which all currently helps them but could still change later in the season.
Jandal climbed the most since the last update. I believe it's down to many small changes in the rankings of which Aeropostals drop in the ranking might have the biggest effect.
A Big Thank You To All MG Reporters!

Bar and Bercz combining for 86 points for In-n-Out is amazing, as many as Granjel Cabrera or vdHH. Really happy about their performance in support of Haller and on their own so far.

A horrible couple of months for us - in fact if you look at us and Phillips we were the worst performing teams down to Andorra by quite some way (race juries... grrr). So I'm more surprised we're still in the promotion spots, as we could quite easily have had a drop like they did here. Hopefully, May brings better times for us after 60 points in the last 20RDs...
Mixed feelings on how I hope cycleYorkshire do in the next few months... I don't want them to pass us with all their days in hand but it might give me the edge over Vien in the prediction accuracy rankings
Thanks to roturn for another lovely write-up and putting them together and also to knockout for bringing the prediction rankings to the thread again

Still not too far from the top 5, hopefully we can have a big race and make that jump soon, Salleh Was just ahead of Haller last update so hopefully Haller using more race days than Salleh the last month means Salleh has a chance to claim the top sprinter mark as the season goes on.

A solid showing in Vancouver certainly helped our cause as an HC race could have easily become a huge waste of days. Though seeing what Valls did in 7 days makes the decision a little more regrettable (though we were riding in Canada, a much bigger priority for the sponsors).

Some nice shuffling going in the rankings, good mix of freshly new, relegated former pct and further developed teams on top shows that the competition is pretty level. Especially Kulcyzk and Honda doing a fantastic job in their debut season. Roux not in the Top 10 individual rankings is disappointing. Not sure what some teams in the bottom are up to though, projections below 200 is very little. Hoping that Statoil will find some mojo now in the coming months.

Only 6 hilly race days in the first four months though A win, a 4th and a 9th because of PCM AI letting an 8 man break win. Hope as it evens out he can get there by the end

I believed my own hype at the beginning of this season, but we are flattering to deceive. Maybe next season I shouldn't rage-release all of my valuable assets.

Looks are deceiving here as we are well down the order atm, but thats due to us not racing so much compared to the others. If Windhoek is anything to go by, we should be on target to match the projection of a top 5 finish by the end of the season!!!
