This is more what I hope will happen in 2018 and some of my unabashed Movistar favouritism...
-Valverde leads in Ardennes. Should be challenging for wins here again.
-Landa leads in Giro. Should podium.
-Nairo leads Tour with Landa as Super-dom. If he doesn't challenge for the win with this setup, he never will. Valverede skips Tour.
-Valverde leads Vuelta. Can challenge for podium (or even a win maybe!)
-Valverde remains prime for WC RR.
-Nairo leads in Lombardia.
Off course they will mess all this up!
About other teams...
Hoping for a good season from Mitchelton Scott. Interested to see how the Fuglsang MAL duo lead Astana.

Looking back on 2017:
Spoiler So will have to do slightly better this year (again Pfft )
- Toon Aerts to win the cyclocross worlds after Wout and Mathieu hold another staring contest
He was injured, or he would've won
- Sagan wins both Omloop and Kuurne
That one was really close
- We'll see a Poggio attack win San Remo, maybe GVA?
Kwiatek, good enough!
- Dwars Door Vlaanderen gets a really big winner
All hail king Lampaert!
- Boonen wins E3 after beating Sagan in a sprint
Ok, this one was way off
- We get a normal Gent-Wevelgem and Gaviria wins in a bunch sprint
Again, not that far off with my prediction
- Team Sky sets up a train on the Kwaremont and wins Tour of Flanders, no one is happy
Haha nope, but we got way better!
- Vanmarcke wins Roubaix and cries after the finish
Nope
- Brabantse Pijl will be won by a convicted doper
Nah bro
- Etixx does not win the Gold Race because Gilbert chases down Martin
Hahaha hahahaha
- Valverde wins Fleche (stick with what you know!)
Roger!
- Wellens wins LBL after a big solo
Nope
- Quintana wins the Giro again, but disappoints in le Tour
Tommy D! But the second part was correct
- Froome wins le Tour again in the most boring race ever
Hmm, it was ok I guess
- San Sebastian goes to a Yates
Had to look that one up actually. Kwiat again.
- Vuelta is due an old suspicious winner needing a new contract, how's Valverde doing with his contract?
Froome is not that old. Fits the bill otherwise.
- Sagan wins another WC after not taking the lead until the final 20m, Martin takes the TT again
Sagan never disappoints
- Gaviria wins Paris-Tours in a proper sprint this time
He got close though
It was better than I expected. Let's try for 2018:
- Mathieu wins the cyclocross worlds with a +1 minute gap
- Sagan wins both Omloop and Kuurne
- Gaviria for San Remo
- Dwars Door Vlaanderen goes to Degenkolb
- E3 for Sagan
- Gent-Wevelgem for Sagan
- Sagan is the only favourite for the Ronde, but gets beaten by Naesen
- Stybar finaly wins his Roubaix
- Matthews wins Brabantse Pijl
- Some dutchie wins the Gold Race, they all go crazy
- Valverde wins Fleche (stick with what you know!)
- Wellens wins LBL after a big solo
- We get a surprise Giro winner, Froome doesn't start
- Dumoulin wins le Tour, Froome goes crying
- San Sebastian goes to a Yates
- Froome does win the Vuelta, then retires
- Sagan wins another WC after not taking the lead until the final 20m, Dumoulin for the TT
- Valverde finaly wins Lombardia before retiring
- GVA wins Paris-Tours after a very disappointing season.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

- Lotto will be good in local races but not impact widely on the season
- Sunweb will be the best of the shared sponsor teams, by far
- Canyon will win one of the Ardennes Triple

Checking this out again and had a good time seeing how terribly wrong i was in the begining of the season
Right:
- Valverde wins Catalunya
- OH! And Gaviria wins first stage of Vuelta a San Juan
Wrong:
- Porte wins TDU
- Valverde wins Pays Vasco
- Greg van Avermaet wins Tour de Flandres
- Paris Roubaix is won by Trek-Segafedo.
- Oliver Naesen will win a WT cobbled classic
- Valverde will Not win Fleche but he will win Liege. ( )
- Amstel will be one by a sprinter, Colbrelli, Sagan, Matthews, probably between these.
- Adrien Petit will Top10 Paris-roubaix.
- Greipel will win a cobbled classic.
- Snow will make one cobbled classic a race of plenty crashes and Paris-Roubaix will be without some of the main figures.
- Mathieu van der Poel for CX WC win. Wout van Aert will be in the discussion of the Binckbank Tour. (OH DEAR GOD HOW TF DID I MISS THAT )
Alright that didn't seem to go so well.. let's take a look at how the Giro is going..
- Froome will not be suspended.. but a crash (or ilness) will prevent him from being on the Giro OR the Tour. (i guess he did crash before the prologue started...)
- Chaves and Miguel Angel Lopez will be on the final Giro podium, with Dumoulin or (likely) Aru. (alright this can still go somewhere)
- Brambilla and Pantano will be a brilliant double on the Giro. (*inhales deeply*)
And to top it off this amazing piece of my mind wich I was very confident:
- No doping scandals in 2018 (excluding Froome's that began 2017)

little late so i start late
- Betancur wins the Giro, doing 5 grand solo's in the mountains
- Mollema wins the Tour because all GC contenders get caught in a cash in a straight line. Mollema weaves so much on his bike however, that he evades everything and is the only good GC contender left.
- Bernal dominates the Vuelta, winning 7 stages including a TT and a couple of mountain stages. Kinda like PCM were the best rider usually wins 5/6 stage.
- Kangert wins the World Championship ITT and the road race, causing Guido Mukk to explode. |

I’ll raise you one, all this will happen, but he’ll still lose.
I missed this thread this time round, but some of mine before the season were fairly obvious:
- Laporte will win Green at the TDF
- Ganna will win a Giro Stage (I have no clue if he’s racing )
- Froome doesn’t win any GTs
I’ll also throw in:
- Fuglsang podiums in the TDF
- Zakarin podiums in Vuelta
- San Sebastián winner doesn’t race the TDF

I’ll leave my two cents on how Froome will have a horrid year, abandoning the Giro after another crash, right after the second rest day, and then gets a year long suspension after losing his salbutamol case. |
