"Ulissi is dropped from his team's pace with still 7km to go!"

Ah fair enough, I'm sure he won't lose more than 30 seconds haha

75Diego UlissiGenerali - EDF+ 2'21

2'21. > 20 seconds lost in each of his last 7 kms. And that's factoring in a fucking downhill section where he was supposed to rest up. The rest of the team kept an average of 44,6 km/h throughout the TTT, which isn't even that fast, while Diego did 42,5 km/h overall. Which means that in the last 7 kms he kept an astonishing average speed that was almost 10 km/h slower than the rest of the team. I'd probably do better, that's definitely something I can manage with some training and a wage of 900k over 2 years.

Fuck you PCM, he literally was 2 minutes slower than last year when he only lost 25 seconds and I based this entire fucking season on that piece of data, which pretty much is going to ruin our scoring at the end of the year pretty consistently if it hasn't already - which is likely.

At least we wrecked everyone else in this TTT, but in hindsight couldn't the other guys go, like, 48" seconds slower so that Ulissi could hang in more easily? Thanks anyways tsmoha, your reporting stays superb.

Dominant win from Generali, but surely they could have paced themselves better to get Ulissi all the way in - say winning the stage by 20-25 seconds instead of 49.

GC battle looks intense at the moment, hoping for some good stages now.

I mean, I wish I had been wrong...

Well that GC is looking a whole lot nicer for Teklit! Pleasantly surprised with Eritel's TTT performances this month. Or more, the lack of TTT strength offered by other teams! And to think, a fit Hadi would have meant an even better time - albeit more risk of Hategaka or Teklit also dropping.

Hopefully it's enough time lost now for Venter to go breakaway hunting.

Not surprising how bad we were given the state of our TTT set up in this race. Caruso, Le Gac and Zingle hopefully capable of attacks in the upcoming stages to improve their GC.

losing less than 1 minute for any of the candidates to victory is the best we could do in this ttt. After this stage continue with two riders in the top10 is more than I expected before the race start...
now I have to pray for them to hold on to the top 10

Congrats to Bjartne for a nice 1-2.

Kreder going well with another podium backed up by a 7th and 11th on the stage.

Bitter sweet for Generali in the TTT, AI doing matt no favours.

Kraftwerk a solid last in the TTT justifying leaving Flügel at home.

Not sure whether Mehr-Wenige will be allowed to lead in the hilliest stage or if the AI will try to protect Kreder in a doomed attempt at a GC finish?

Thanks again to tsmoha for the great reports.

Wow. Doesn't get much closer than that. We got the perfect balance out of our TTT squad and now a shot to take down Froome - something that would never happen for TVG IRL.

Can't wait for these next two stages. I'm expecting fireworks. Grin

In our 5 seasons in this game, this is our first ever double victory, had never expected it to happen!

The TTT went as expected, a lot of time lost and still our only hope is to secure a top 50 or a breakaway win.

Thank you tsmoha, looking forward to the next stage Smile

Thanks for the race so far tsmoha. Generali once again smoking everyone in the TTT, congrats Matt but sorry about Ulissi. I guess at this point it has to be expected. Maybe this is something we can change somehow next season. With losing 78 TT Goncalves but still finishing 3rd place I am thrilled, especially considering that somehow Reichenbach stayed with the team and is now sitting in 3rd. Couldn't have planned it any better!

Conceding the stage win to a local rider after a long breakaway ride is fine by me. Venter deserved it, especially after the tour he has had. Congrats.

Meanwhile, TVG is doing everything right. Tactically, this is just what I wanted. He can outsprint everybody at the finish, so just get there with the top favourites and he is all set.

One more smart stage and we will lock up our second season win goal.

Not bad, but still not that great with Froome constantly struggling by the end, when he needs to attack the GC lead. Also TvG taking more bonifaction seconds just gonna make it even harder. Considering the race however, a 2nd place in the GC would be awesome. So I just hope that he will at least keep it and see an entertaining stage to end of this race. I mean us almost winning a race just from a TTT is insane and not how I imagined Froome to go about this race

This was a race Ulissi should have won imo.

Weird always when at 20km to go the gap is quite tiny and then strong puncheurs don`t get it closed.

Anyway, really happy for couple of teams/riders:

Eritel as they had lots of bad luck this race and now having a stage win and two in top 10.
Generali as 4th by Ulissi seems just fair seeing it`s 3 real stronger puncheurs ahead and he had the TTT advantage (normally) and even though he could have won due to the TTT, this is okayish result I guess.
And finally UBS as Reichenbach last year and also this year already was underperforming a lot. While being active at least today, he lost in the end but still 5th in the GC is very nice for him.

Cool

Finally! First victory of 2017, at long last, after a fair few second places. Quite fortunate that he did hold off the favourites, but a superb ride to do so, and it could hardly have gone better for Venter today. Pity there weren't more KoM points available Pfft

Shame that Teklit couldn't cling on to Reichenbach, Palini and Mohoric - but not unexpected given his stats.

7th and 8th would be a fantastic result from this race, but still one more stage to go. Maybe it's Hategeka's turn for a breakaway? Pfft

This hurts, but our luck could not last forever. If it was not the fall we could be fighting for a place in the top5 so it remains to fight for the top 10 if Costa has not been hurt.
No KoM points in the last stage to be won, so the victory in this category is delivered to Bauer. some extra points that help to compensate for the loss of places in the gc. Also the team classification remains open and I hope to be able to keep the lead at the end of the race.

Ok, I anticipated being able to make up a few positions in this stage, but this admittedly went better than expected. Still hurts that TTTs are so fucked, and that Ulissi can't win a sprint to save his life.

We're talking about a 74 SP puncheur ladies and gentleman, who even had a +5 STA advantage on his side. Still, Venter would have won the stage anyways, so it's not quite as big of a problem, and it's TVG he lost to twice, who is also a solid enough sprinter.

Should be a bit more than 100 points or something for us which is not bad in C1... still we keep on losing points because of the AI, and they most certainly are adding up.

Congrats SN on the nice stage win and Mre on the deserved GC.

EDIT: This is not the last stage but I'll leave this unedited because it's funny.

One more stage left matt so much can still happen and TVG's victory is still not guaranteed

Not bad, a 6th on the stage and GC, which I cant really complain about seeing who is ahead of Zaini.
