So what exactly has happened? It says he won't be suspended so has he actually broken any rules? Or is the sample just slightly abnormal?

Can you get a TUE for having twice the amount you're allowed?

15/08/22 - SotD said "Your [jandal's] humour is overrated"
11/06/24 - knockout said "Winning is fine I guess. Truth be told this felt completely unimportant."

Froome has a TUE that allows him to go to the limit of Salbutamol due to his asthma, so Sky is already trying to say that it could have been a bad reaction with food or something that, as is "proven" that Salbutamol is unpredictable in the way its metabolised and excreted. (from Sky's statement)
Also, it's Sky

If Froome is proven guilty this could damage his reputation even harder than Armstrong. Mind you that LA was banned after he retired (for good).

But now the protection is moved towards the French teams and ASO.
EDIT: And speaking of Froome and the French, if UCI strips Froome from all of his victories in the Sky era (the chances are 50/50) then Bardet would be given the win in 2016 and will have quote "A French win at Le Tour". A win, but it would be by technicality and NOT on the bike.

if uUi is consistent (ulissi) froome gets banned from the vuelta and it lasts for 9 months or up to a year, so no Giro, according to guys on cn forum.
the thing about french protection I ignore, there is no basis for such a statement

The UCI president is essentially an ASO puppet and he's best buds with Prudhomme. And we know how ASO loves the weak French PCT teams by handing them wildcards, because "nationalism"

There's a 0% chance that UCI will strip any wins Froome before Vuelta 17'. Why would they do that?

Because the French would not stop complaining about how Froome was not erased from history. And they want French win no matter what

Salbutamol is a Specified Substance, so doesn't carry immediate penalties when the 1000ng/ml barrier is broken. Which means no automatic provisional suspension like we would see for EPO, for example.
The rider is given time to present evidence that the elevated level is due to TUE use an the accumulation was not intentional.
Now, given Froome's history of asthma (i'm not going into the whole debate on whether he actually has it or not) a TUE is understandable (equally i'm not going into the whole debate on whether TUE's should be published) as a potential cause. Given Sky's history in the area, and most pro teams, they've pushed the TUE as far as they can.
A study to show how the TUE could accumulate in the individual won't be a fast process, this will rumble on well into the new year i imagine, and that's not considering appeals to CAS.
Ulissi got a 9month band and Pettachi got a year, for similar problems. But there's also been other riders who've not been given bans as well. So it's not a forgone conclusion that Froome will be banned and stripped of results.
If he is, i'd look in the 6-9month region. Taking away the Vuelta win and his WC medals, and keeping him out of racing until the April at the earliest, so a Giro ride could still be possible.
Please try and remember the actual UCI processes for these things, and not jump on the bandwagon of poor reporting and forum activists. Already seen some very dodgy articles that don't understand what's actually happened, and i've seen all the fanboys for and against Froome come out swinging all over the place.
It's an AAF, but on a specified substance, so with evidence from the rider and team it can be explained and no further action taken beyond reputation damage. There's history of both bans, and not, for similar breaches. This'll go for a while, especially if it ends up with CAS.

teat sample is from 7th september, day afte his meltdown. He looked the weakest ever that day but recovered. We know why now. Imo needs to be stripped of Vuelta and banned. No two ways about it.

I don't think Froome should be banned, just give the Vuelta win to Contador and everyone is happy
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.
