 Bayern Rundfahrt
We're heading for Germany, where the Bayern Rundfahrt goes into it's 8th edition, being a part of the MG calendar since 2010, where Mikhail Ignatiev took the first of two consecutive GC wins. The race used to be a race for puncheurs with strong skills in timetrials and so the most recent winners were polyvalent riders like Luis Leon Sanchez (2016), Kristjan Koren (2015) and Ian Bibby (2014). The character of the race has been changed now and while we still have those tricky flat stages for sprinters, the hilly key stage has been replaced through a challenging flat stage.
Additionally, the race has been downgraded to C2HC status, so we should get a whole new dynamic here. The ITT (25km) remains a key stage though and it's certainly the TT specialists, who will fancy their chances to fight for yellow this time.

So let's begin with the strongest TT guys: cycleYorkshire comes with it's premium specialists and so they feature four of the most promising riders here. Stannard, Tennant, Dennis and Robert should all have a shot at a notable GC result. While Stannard (though being strong on the flat) and Robert struggle on any kind of hills (and we do have some tricky stages), Tennant/Dennis make for a great duo for this profiles here.
Reus, Mottin, Hofer and Mullen as other top-favorites then. Particularly Reus and Mullen should be real threats for yellow, as they are clearly the best allrounded TT specialists amongst the favorites. The list continues with some more possible GC aspirants like Hacecký, Christian, Laizer, Ma, Grabovski, Kneisky, Bouet, Vandousselaere or Grabovski. We do know that TTs can be sneaky, so any of those 76+ guys can do something special on a very good day in the timetrial.
With four possible bunch sprint stages, we do have a packed list of sprinters, obviously: Thorsen as the ever fastest guy on this level, but we should question his expectations for good reasons (when looking at the profiles of the stages here). Anyway, he may survive a stage and then he's a force.
The more promising names should be Haller, Granjel Cabrera, Rowe, Salleh, Castaneda, Nizzolo or maybe Meyer or even Kip. Meyer as clearly the best TT rider amongst the sprinters. Probably too less to be a real threat for the GC, but his manager would surely hope for him to deliver prior to the ITT and then taking advantage of a high GC ranking at this point.

Taking out the hilly stage is a bit sad 
Should be massive points for cycleYorskhire, that TT line up is insane! So hopefully they get more out of it than the last TT. Then Thorsen to win all the flat stages

Colour me shocked not to see Tony Martin here, but all the better for Ryan Mullen to get a solid GC result.
Agree that it'd be a bit harsh on cycleYorkshire not to come away with a hefty chunk of points with their TT lineup, but hopefully Mullen and Hacecky come in-form as well. We've also thrown our whole sprint train at this race, I'm very curious to see how the PCM AI deals with that!

Great preview tsmoha
Excited for this race, if Mottin has a good day in the TT a final podium is possible. If not, with Laizer and Kireva we still expect a top10, and we sure do need some big points here.
Although with this lineup, it's hard to see CycleYorkshire loose it, but Reus is a serious threat no matter what.

Hopefully Hofer can pull one out of the bag and achieve our top 5 goal.
Salleh is here for the sprinter and this should be the best indicator of how the division stacks up as it seems like everyone is present.

Was very sad that the hill stage went but luckily there's still Britain and San Luis, though they're a bit less balanced. For us we need Clarke to make a few points and hopefully the rest get in some breakaways, though the former is an average sized fish in a massive pond

Well Azteca will take any points we can get here... this race has minimal value to us (hence the 6 man squad) so a point anywhere in this would be a win.

Had originally hoped for a top 5 GC here but seeing the startlist, I've already lowered my expectations. I think I'll be happy with a top 10 here. Not ideal for a home race! Also hoping Krieger can get inspired on home ground. He hasn't looked very strong yet this season.

Have no clue whatsoever as to what's going to happen here. Nizzolo hasn't been very good so far, so fingers crossed.

I really hope cycleYorkshire for once is having a dominant GC here. Their lineup with basically four potential top5 riders is impressive.
So far they were screwed rather much and this race here might be their turnaround. So AI hopefully is nice to them.
Not a fan of Rowe. So hopefully he is not screwing up their whole team...
