League Table updated following Portugal.
Congrats to Sano for the win. Ian has extended his lead to 30 points. Only really Ember left within touching distance.

Last call for teams for La Vuelta. It's the last 50 point game of the year and the last chance for the top few players to make up significant ground on Ian Russell that might make it interesting at the final couple of races of the year.

Hmm, I only wonder if I should choose De la Cruz or Moreno for 8 points.
Edit: Or to be more specific I have 20 points for climbers and I don't know which to choose .

De la Cruz is a no brainer to me, he went bananas last year in Vuelta and it looks like it's kind of his goal this year again ain't it?

Vincenzo Nibali
David De La Cruz
Fabio Aru
Johan Esteban Chaves
Edward Theuns
Merhawi Kudus
Ivan Garcia Cortina
Michael Woods
Rafal Majka
Pretty happy with this lot so far. Majka, Aru and Nibali (and therefore Garcia) might end up being underperformers but I like what Chaves, Woods and de la Cruz have done so far. Theuns should be one of the better sprint options with Degenkolb out and Kudus has shown he's willing to attack which is just what I wanted from him.
EDIT: Just checked the Tour results. 6th? I'm happy with that!

Very interesting start to the Vuelta considering the overall Daily Classification with the top 3 and Lord Di Lego all sitting in the top five in the Vuelta league after 8 stages.
Especially Purepasd's team looks great as he got Woods amongst the unclassed picks. And then Fraile will also probably start to light up thie race soon. Feels like Majka also is tempted to go crazy now that he's out of GC, meaning the KoM jersey and a couple of stage wins, but we shall see.
The outcome for Ian Russell will depend a lot on how Contador does in the proper mountains, I guess. If he can keep up what he has been doing on the last couple of stages, he must also fancy his chances for a good overall Vuelta result.
For my own team, I obviously lack Trentin, and Lobato is unfortunately nowhere close, but on the other hand I've got both Aru and Chaves still in the overall mix, eventhough they both have started to show some weakness on the last couple of stages. Hopefully that can be turned around, eventhough it might be difficult
Anyway, it should be interesting to continue to follow the battle at the top, and then there will at least be Tour of Britain as well, I think, to add to the excitement |

My team isn't doing as badly as I feared after the first few days. Pozzovivo has been the main disappointment. Need Zakarin and Adam Yates toy move up a bit to salvage my race.

Why are entries for Tour of Britain closed? It states that deadline is 3 september
Everybody has a plan until they get punched in the mouth.

I noted when I looked earlier that it was saying the deadline was Friday 4 August. I assume it's something that'll be fixed at some point.
Hopefully before the race starts

I'm really pleased with how I'm doing in La Vuelta. At this point I have the 2nd, 4th, 5th and 6th in the GC. If Froome collapses in week 3 I might actually win the thing
