So obviously there was no official complain.

They did tho, but Nacer is complaining about everything. Especially when he is beaten by Arnaud. Wink

Holy shit, ar-are you defending Demare? What he did is much worse than what Sagan did, with the difference being that Bouhanni didn't crash. Riders' past actions should have no influence over jury decisions when they're damaged.

I actually don't even think its ASO, I think the jury is made out of UCI commissaries. If thats the case, I don't believe Prudhomme will be too happy about UCI, throwing the easily most marketable superstar and WC champion out of the race...

No where are you reading that?
Bouhanni is always pointing towards foul play when he is beaten by Démare (which is 9/10 at this rate). And thats whether its legit or not.

Doesn't mean anything. If Sagan got disqualified then Demare should be too, Bouhanni's past complaints should have no effect on a jury's decision.

Im not arguing that really, I don't know and really don't have an opinion on that one. Just saying Bouhanni will be the first to yell foul play at Démare since those two literally hate each other. Wink

So here's the video, Démares move was also dangerous, but the jury is probably looking at the fact that Sagan made Cav crash and Démare didn't. Thats pretty black/white, but that must be their thought process whether thats right or wrong.

The funny thing is tho that Bouhanni is attributing the fact that Démare overtook him like to he didn't win. Which, if you look at the video, is pretty funny to say the at least as Démare made him look like a junior in todays sprint, so much more speed... no chance Nacer, no chance.

Only reason Bouhanni didn't crash is cause he pulls up

Thats most likely true, but Démare is going at a much greater speed than Bouhanni even before that. If Bouhanni had crashed Im sure Arnaud would at least be disqualified from the stage.

How many more times does some post a slow-mo out of context, starting at a deliberate point to make it all look good? You have to watch the entire incident to understand Sagan's fault. Jeez.

Exactly. You can make any rider look innocent by doing that honestly. Watch the whole sprint in slowmo instead, such a short clip isn't representative.

I am a Cav fan, but this is sick.

I lost all interest in TDF as long as it's a sport turning sissy.

France .... whatever could one expect ... (Cyanide perhaps)

Sprints always have border-line calls for foul play, and as said a few more riders might have been hit by the elusive refs.
What's next ... Sky out for dressing with too good aero-shirts.
Stop any advance in materials and go back to steel bikes will be next, or ?

Wasnt trying to make up any excuses for Sagan, he closed out Mark Cavendish, and there's no excuse for that. What I don't like is the DQ, bc the reason they kicked him out was bc of the supposed elbow, thats all.Wink

Yeah, the reason they kicked him out was most probably the elbow, I agree about that.. Im still a little torn about it honestly. I still wonder what Prudhomme is thinking about it all.

DSQ? And I thought 80 points in the green competition was too much.

I don't think it was even Sagan's 100% fault in the crash, Cavendish is trying to move through a very narrow space there. As for the elbow, it looks more like Sagan is trying to avoid crashing himself more than trying to hit Cavendish. And this comes from a Cavendish fan and mixed feelings towards Sagan supporter.

Demare pulled an even more dangerous move and is awarded the win and probably the green jersey while Sagan is sent home. Nice.

As I said before, the DQ is too harsh. UCI stands by its decision still. I don't care about the national side of it with Demare and the green jersey, however to me it sounds like its more about trying to make sprints safer. First with the gap extension to three seconds, and the warning of being stricter with reckless behavior. At least they stay by their warning and this may mean less reckless moves, who knows.

“Before the Tour de France, we warned the sprinters that we would look very close to every sprint. And that is what we did today,” he said. “It was not an easy decision, but it’s the beginning of the Tour and this is now the moment to set our boundaries. And that is what we have done today.”
