It actually wasn't that good. Tony stated that he didn't properly recon the course and he thought it's much quicker, hence he overdid it on the first climb. He was basically dead after that one.

Perfect chance for you to lose your mars avatar gone...

RICHIE PORTE <3.

Never did I expect such a TT from a parcours which didn't quite suit him perfectly.

Just because Martin didn't recon the course doesn't mean it wasn't a good TT by Porte, even if Martin had pipped Porte it was still a good TT by Porte.

Sadly Porte to strong at dauphine already ..even Lance and Froomy had difficulty to keep top form true tour when they where strong at Dauphine.
Porte is only one who can beat Froome this year TdF.

Chaves, Buchmann, Rebellin, Laporte Tony Martin, Le Bon, Le Gac and Chaves. Grin

Unforunately Porte never seems to have the ability to ride for three weeks. Sad

yes quintana will have to ride for him that should be fun Smile

What about Betancur. Other day in Hammer series he looked absolutely sublime. Like his 2013 self. TdF does not have too much TT.
Movistar might have 3 GC riders in their team. We will see him in Tour de Suisse.

Surprisingly good by Bertie to finish ahead of Froomster. Means nothing for le Tour but maybe some confidence ahead of the dauphine mountains.

Well, Tony probably could've been a minute quicker. He just fucked up. It was a good TT by Porte, nevertheless, but it's not "what a tt by him".

Nope, even if he would win a small TT, I would be free!

It absolutely was an impressive TT, regardless of what Tony could have accomplished had he not misinterpreted the route. Being able to correctly manage your energies is certainly part of what a multiple TT WC is supposed to be able to do.

Hence I said, that he fucked up, but if Tony would've won by a minute, nobody would have said that Portes TT was amazing.

Lol. Good? Give me a break. Porte rocked it out there.

I look forward to Valverde and Unzue downplaying Valverde as a contender in July, will be golden

Movistar has a very high chance of having some problems about who to support, Valverde or Quintana. Gonna be hilarious to watch Vomistar tactics at its finest.

Also Porte was scarily good, he dominated the TT. Surprised with Froome having a bad TT. Di he mess up his prep? Valverde flying once again, this one even surprised me because he has been under-par in the Dauphine post-suspension. Contador didn't look very good, but then again, he is not the type of Porte/Froome who have an extremely high performance in Dauphine. He is a bit under-par on Dauphine mostly.

You would still say that when Tony doesn't choke his tactics like a toddler? Beating someone by only 12s, who went full on the first climb and apparently bonked during the stage is not that impressive. Especially when it's a TT which doesn't suit Tony. Too short and hilly, but well, yeah. Porte won a TT, which suited him, whilst he is on form, whilst others like Froome are not and whilst Haga is only around 40s off the time. That's not nailing a TT, that's being lucky that everything played out for you.

Valverde will be the man, this year is the perfect storm. I will be in Germany to support him. Cool

Lets see, but it seems wide open this year. 5 riders can win, thats a lot. Vroomester below par, on shitty route, Valverde in the shape of his life. He can win. Im a believer.
.. bút, but, but, Quintana is the captain!

Valverde looks in a monster shape. And the route suits him, no long ITT, no extremely tough mountain stage, no 3-4 back-to-back mountain stages, only one stage having some 2000+ altitude (the Galibier stage but even that stage doesn't have that much over 2000m), and the bonifications should make him gain some time as well on PDBF or on the Les Rousses stages. The stage with Biche, GC and Mont du Chat and the stage with Croix de Fer and Galibier look like the biggest problems but as I said the route suits him and he definitely has a chance of winning it.

Quintana can attack on Mont du Chat to test the other favourites but that may backfire as well with Valv getting dropped. Interesting to see what will Movi do.

Also, are you going to the Grand Depart? That's very cool! I am planning to go to the end of the race in Paris, hopefully with Contador winning. Pfft (at least I want to see him there and maybe chances of signing an autograph or even a photo if I can. Though this doesn't mean I won't be asking for other riders for photos, there are many riders I want to have a photo with, Contador is one of them)
