what a weird race, must feel horrible for Sauber - but anyway, thanks Atlantius for stepping up to old reporting days

Nice win in the Aegon jersey.
Now being maxed, I think he will make a great Malaysian NC and luckily Sauber will have him back to shine in their new NC jersey then. |

As Roturn said, luckily he is my loaned out rider, so he will be back in my jersey next season anyway.
And at this point it is looking like Ahmad Zamri will be either leading us in the mountains next season, or at least a strong domestique opposed to Ghani who would be a support rider if we can get him to level 4 ourselves, otherwise we would have had to loan out the NC jersey if he had held on to win it.
oh and does this count as a breakaway win or a late attack for the statistics?

It happened late enough not to be considered a break win now that you point it out, so we have 30-4 for the breaks rn

For clarity it happened about mid-race.

Very, very happy to see Dyrnes claim the jersey in Norway. It's been an amazing season by him, and it will be very cool to see him ride next year as the Norwegian champion.
My biggest hope considering a break was to see either him or Hoelgaard (my whole team 5) join it and then be the strongest climber in there. Luckily it worked out this year, on the contrary to last year
A pity to see Stake Laengen miss out on the TT title when Haugård must have been on a bad day but nice to see tastasol and Vassdål take it somewhat surprising. Congratulations! |

Deserved victory for ember in the RR. Great effort by Wilman to get in the break, but he was never going to be strongest with the guys he was with. 3rd a good result.
Very surprised by the ITT result. Vassdål haven't really done anything this year, but really delivered him. Must have been on a super day. Very glad to have the national jersey in our squad for next season!

Good to make sure we don't have to resign Hagen.
Although this and Denmark were the main chances for us to join a break with low mo riders, guess our team really isn't cut out for NCs.

Dyrnes is a great NC I think. If only all NC's were riders at that level it would be very interesting. Unfortunately it is just some random poor rider winning for 80% of the roadraces.

What a great breakaway in the US race That's quite a perfect NC double with Dombro and Phinney. Congrats to the winning teams.

Would be great if all winning breakaways were composed of great riders like Norway and USA NCs, sadly these 2 cases really are isolated in the scheme of things.

I don't care which rider wins the NC, good or not, i just want it to be a race and not a solo/two-man break with no competition. Give me a three+ man break that fights between themselves and i'll be happy. Or a Belgium where the peloton makes a real chase against a strong attacker.

If I really have to choose between having a good rider winning an NC from an uncontested break and a mediocre one doing so in the same way, I'm certainly going to go for the former. Too often managers force themselves to keep mostly useless riders just because they have a special jersey on their shoulders, but of course your point still stands.

That's your problem as manager, it's not a game problem.
If you want the NC you pay for it. That can mean keping a 50k rider who's not a scorer, or it can mean paying a premium to buy someone in. Ultimately it's what you value the NC at, which for most managers is 50k.
Probably don't buy/keep the useless rider in the first place tbh, then you won't have to worry about them winning the NC

But it's still better to see good riders winning NCs, because then you at least see the NC jersey throughout the season, rather than those riders who only have a team for their NC jersey and are only seen in the occasional shot at the back of the pack and in that one or two breaks they manage to get into, of course there are good riders showing their jersey and some riders who get into breaks often with their NC jersey, but overall the often beautiful NC jerseys are kinda wasted with riders who barely show them at all.

Blimey, that US RR was tense viewing for me, started to think Bush might grasp the opportunity, but then it just slipped away in the final few metres. Would have made up big time for his failure to win a race in the regular season as our highest wage rider . Good race, nice reporting and at least a high profile winner in Dombrowski. Geez though, such a high profile national jersey would have made life so much easier in terms of attracting sponsorship to our development team for 2017! ().
