Cool to kick off the NC-season with a Champions race! Same NC procedure as always with a breakaway win, but at least the gap wasn't more than 5 minutes this time, and we didn' need to have 90% abandoned.
Looking especially forward to the Kazakh and Iranian championship  |

A quick rundown of our expectations:
Flat Belgium doesn't give Declerq any chance besides going for the early break.
Mountainous Denmark is likely a wasted day of racing for Lander. He's probably too weak even for an early break.
Hilly France is a big opportunity for Demare with some support, although Gautier will be tough to beat.
Cobbled Great Britain would be a race to lose for Blythe if some teams can keep the race together. Thomas was convincing in the WC though, and everyone's too good of a sprinter to allow a big group to come to the finish.
It'll be super hard to beat Degenkolb in flat Germany, but that might be the only chance for Ciolek to stay in the team.
I hope for a break in hilly Ireland, Dunne should be in the upper end of riders allowed to go early.
Flat Italy will be decided without Felline being able to challenge much, I assume.
Shishelov is probably the worst puncheur in hilly Kazachstan, so there's nothing to gain unless it's a miraculous one-rider break.
I doubt much more than a Top 10 is possible for Kelderman in mountainous Netherlands, and I don't think there's a chance for him to break away.
Mountainous New Zealand would be great for Bevin if there wasn't Bennett as the clearly better climber and a field likely too small to care.
Overall, we could challenge in as much as 3 big countries, and I hope we'll be lucky enough in at least one of them to finally take our first NC jersey ever.

I like to be optimistic and hope my riders get in the break and Bennett and Bevin are back in the field which is too small to care

This is always exciting... Last year we managed to fail completely in the Norwegian championships, and I haven't learnt from my mistakes...  Hopefully we're slightly more lucky with who we put in the early breakaway this time around.
For Denmark and Guldhammer, he somehow managed to win on a hilly course last year, where he got back the breakaway and won. Kind of pessimistic to him doing such a thing for a second time, but at least he could have a shot on a mountainous course
And hopefully some of the bigger nations NC will play out with a decent AI eventhough I also enjoy to see breakaway success. After all it could prove decisive for which team rider A and B ride for next season. |

Thanks for kicking this off roturn and TMM!
So, we have some chances here and there in a few national championships, thinking about Israel/Cyprus where we should probably get a title in the TT, and of course the various Italy, Belgium, Netherlands and France where we'll still need luck on our side to snatch some nice looking jerseys, we certainly don't want no champions in our team for 3 years straight?

With an eclectic squad, WCC have high hopes of adding to Clifford's RR and TT double. Lots of luck required in NC races to overcome AI oddities, and also in terms of race fields as many major competitors can either turn up or not on a whim (!). Colombian nationals most excited about; can Rodriguez Galindo retain his jersey?, hopefully so, but not expected to be a pre-race favourite.

I was cheering for him as an ex-rider, close but no cigar this time.
Nice to see Banihammad keep his ITT title! Also Russo as the Kyrgyzstan NC will make for an interesting jersey next season. Thanks for the reports!

Nice to share these titles with our CT buddies from La Poste. Sanogo as RR champion is cool, as he is one of my favourite development riders in the WCC roster. As a 1.0 rider, he has a damn good chance in future years of regularly dominating the  jersey race (road at any rate) .
And thanks to the reporters and organisers of all the NC races.

Martinez and Marcos both get a Cuban NC, nicely spread amongst the two given they were the only two participants apparently (no Bru/Granjel/Mojica).
Manarelli nowhere near the Brazilian NC but that was expected.
