Proper shit day for us. Maybe we sneak now into botds. And of course, fingers crossed for Modolo action although break likely going to take most of the stages
thanks ro!

Are you sure you didn't accidentally give Silvio his level 4 stats?
That was likely the most dominant "mountain" stage win we've ever had (if we've even had any up until now), it feels really good to finally be in the position up front distancing everyone never to be seen again, not in the position of the chaser losing second after second.
I'm looking forward to his step up to PT next season.
The stage did indeed appear to appeal to the climbers it seems, but since roturn is reporting this, and the final GC always was going to go to a climber, I hope the result will stay undisputed. Lavery and Kadri did well too, after all.
I guess with the leaders jersey now, Herklotz should have good chances of keeping it until the mountain stage if he's attentive. Maybe good positioning will even give him good results for the two quite hilly looking flat stages.
And thanks ember, I wish!
We do get full points here though, right? So a GC win with some stage and jersey success could actually equal the points haul from a PT stage race win? (not saying that I expect Herklotz to take this now #IhopeIdidntjinxit)

Wow, it appears we only find a way deeper into the slump.
Race is gone, rest will be damage control. Quite shocked, we never had this kind of bad luck in a Portuguese race before.

Not good enough. Simple as that, Nepomnyachsniy should be able to limit his losses on stages on this, and now winning the GC seems fairly impossible if we do not gain any time on Herklotz or Reis. I still fully expect Reis to struggle and lose minutes due to his ACC stat, however I feel like Herklotz has this GC sealed. Would suck to come in second or third on the win goal of the season, getting beaten by a PT rider...

Sigh the stage that should have been really good for us, wasn't very good. Kept waiting to see Beltran do something, and he became less relevant in the report the later the stage got. Knew that was a bad sign. Mountain stage coming up though, should give him another chance to make an impression.

Ok, not Palini's race at all, Rabottini outracing him today, at least he had a decent stage.
Thanks Roturn and congrats Silvio!

Herklotz?! Well that's a surprise. Massive show of strength from the soon-to-be german legend! Congrats cio.
Pretty pleased with Reis ascent. He played to his strength and rode tempo which is what can be expected of him. Kruisjwick remains a threat , but the difference to Puma's leader is the most worrying to us right now.
Thanks for the vivid report, roturn!

Stuyven trying but failing, KoM is more far away then ever. But we overtook Aegon in the teams classification!
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

That last climb was a killer... everything was going just fine there was no need to ruin my day Nice bit of racing though. Herklotz looks ever more threatening, with Kruiswijk renewing his bid for the GC and Slagter and Nepo stepping up as well. Not the result we wanted for sure.
That said, it's not the end of the world for Reis. Losses need to be kept to the absolute minimum on that last final hilly stage, otherwise that german-dutch coalition may just ruin things for us, noble southern europeans

102nd on the stage, great work Kohl. Can you at least give the stage wins a go now.

Very happy with the strength the team is showing here, as admittedly none of them are strong enough to really challenge for wins. Looks like Nesset has the chance to fight for 5th place overall, as all four riders in front of him should be stronger. For the three other guys, the goal must be to have them all inside the top 15.
The GC battle just looks more and more interesting. Herklotz with another super performance, though, it feels like the most challenging hilly stage is left, looking at the profiles, at least for the puncheurs.
If that stage proves decisive, I hope Dyrnes and/or Hoelgaard have the legs to do some damage as well. Though, first there's a couple of flattish stages where I'm not sure what AI makes of my line up. Hopefully one of my puncheurs is allowed to give it a go in the sprint, as the challenging profiles should give them a chance versus the pure sprinters.
Thank you for the report, roturn! |

Ouch, Monfort getting injured is quite a bummer. Now we have to hope for some breakaway success.

Very mature ride on this stage, Herklotz was in full control of the race.
Too bad there wasn't enough energy left in him to use his position and sprint stat to challenge for the stage win, but losing only bonus seconds to Kruijswijk and even gaining a decent bit on Reis is definitely a trade worth accepting.
Slagter...one of these riders I have inquired about every single transfer season. Congrats dev!

yay, the positive trend for slagter continues
damage control was pretty solid in this race so far until now, where he finally had a great day!
win goal is looking unlikely still but a podium here would be pretty neat aswell!

Much better ride by Nepomnyachsniy here A podium is within reach with the TT in mind, and we should not lose much time, if any time on the remaining stages, possibly even gain some minor seconds like we did today.

Better riding for Palini, but still hoping for a little more, at the very least join the break.
Thanks for the report Roturn and congrats Dev.
