- But he wins a monument
- Aru or Nibali will win the Giro
- Froome wins the Tour
- Some rider in his upper thirties or forties close to his retirement will win the Vuelta - Zubeldia was already mentioned here
- The Frenchmen will disappoint at the tour
- Henao won't finish all Ardennes Classics
- Boonen won't do as good as last year
- The Bahrain Human rights watch team will be top 3 at the WT team ranking
- The former Lampre team will disband

My prediction (hope) is that the Bahrain team will be an absolute flop and the torture loving Prince will chuck a tantrum and take his evil blood money out of cycling and find his natural home in the international criminal court on human rights abuse charges.

New year, new Froome victory, new Quintana hype/excuses and new Contador hype/excuses

Contador/Quintana hype is already well underway here, the same people shout in july about doping, boring, excuses, howls etc

Well all with two eyes and a brain can only see Froome win.
The same can be said about Sagan and green jersey.

I while back, I would have predicted with certainty that Orica was going to win it's first GT, with money on it being Chavito in the Giro. Now with the field lined up, I'm not so sure, so here are my predictions:

-Froome wins the Tour, obviously.
-Nibali will have unforseen troubles, causing him to abandon the Giro in the beginning of the second week.
-Nibali will instead race the Tour, and because he's angry about under preforming in the Giro, he'll ride so well that he'll win the Tour.
-Under pressure from his trainer, Chaves will not start the Giro, but instead goes to the tour. Even though he isn't as motivated for this Grand Tour as for the other GT's, he's a fighter and will manage to distance his opponents and win the tour.
-Mollema wil not perform well in the Giro. He'll go on as a super domestique and helps Contador win the tour.
-Zakarin will perform wonderously well in the Giro. He'll fly on the mountains, descent like a mad man, and crash on stage 20. The same will happen for Rolland and Pinot.
-Valverde will end up third in every single race he participates in. Miraculously, he'll still end up with 15+ wins on his season's palmares. Don't ask me how.
-Conclusion: Everyone wins the tour. No one is worthy to win the 100th Giro.

On a more serious note:

I'll predict
-One Italian, one Frenchman and either Chaves or Landa on the podium of the Giro. Either Chaves or Nibali or Aru wins the Giro.
-If Nibali performs well, Aru will suck during the Giro. If Aru performs well, Nibali will suck. Sorry, Italy, we will not get a Nibali vs Aru show off.
-Froome will not win the tour.
-If Froome finishes the tour, he'll end up on the podium at least a minute from the winner.
-If Froome drops out of the Tour early enough, Nieve will win the KoM and Poels will either win the Queen stage or ride a top six GC.
-Both Contador and Mollema will ride the Vuelta, and one of them will win it. The other won't be happy about it.
-Paris-Roubaix will probably be boring. Last year's awesomeness will set expectations to high.
-Nibali will perform well this year, but not extremely so. (E.g.: two GT podiums but no win, or something similar)
-Lampre will try to switch to TJ Sports again at the end of the year.

Now for the specifics:
-Poels will win Fleche Wallone
-Albassini will win Strade Bianchi
-Matthews will win Milano San Remo

We'll ignore Judith Arndt, Giorgia Bronzini, Emilia Fahlin, Emma Trott, Linda Villumsen and of course Tayler Wiles because it's Womens Cycling and who cares Pfft (and there's more, but as i said, who cares Pfft)

My predictions were vague and poorly worded in the first place. Pfft

A couple contadictions and a lot of things I disagree with

- A year without major suprisises
This was poor and hard to define, I don't know Pfft
- Laporte is better than Sagan (this is too obvious, sorry)
Vendee, tick!
- TDU is won by a Dutch rider
8th Pfft
- Someone with the last name Sanchez wins a WT race
Nope, although Sammy just missed a stage by crashing iirc
- Hermans wins one of the Ardennes Classics
Well...
- EBH wins Roubaix
Not even close.
- Norway takes 2 Monuments, WC and at least 4 TDF stages
Haha, No. Although second in WC Pfft
- Contador disapoints
Depends on your point of view, he had a good Vuelta with the Angliru win.
- 2 more GT podiums for Chaves but he only just misses out on the Giro win
Nope.
- The TDF is the most boring in history, unless Froome doesn't win because you can't have a rider with 4 wins
Froome's on his way to five and 2012, 2013, 2015 and 2016 were all more dull because at least this year some other riders were good.
-Another Giro for Nibali
- Kwiatek wins RVV
- GVA a star again this season
Not that bold, but correct
- Lotto (especially De Gendt) having a great season please
Don't know about great, but both were pretty good
- I fail to make another Peraud/Gasparotto prediction. Sad
True, in 2014, I picked Peraud to podium in TDF and 2016 Gaspa to win Amstel, so maybe only even numbered years. Pfft
