I avoided voicing my opinion on the re-run discussion, as I felt I spoke about a similar situation earlier this season regarding Tirreno-Adriatico. Must say I feel it was a good decision to re-run the race and use the opportunity when it was present.
Back to the racing itself, and congratulations to Eden95 on a surprising win. He must hope though that Zaini in the leader's jersey doesn't force Aziz to race passively/in support on the upcoming Queen stage.
Good to see all favourites and contenders of some sort safe through. Now I can only cross fingers either Dyrnes or Hoelgaard have a good day on the upcoming stage 2. Eventhough the mo/hill ratio is less than 0.50, I suspect it to be close to 0.50, which means it should be a very selective stage with significant time gaps. |

Eh I don't know about that, happy to win but it feels a little tainted after what's happened. Not saying the replay was the wrong idea of course, but it would have been nice if somehow the teams that scored points in the previous stages could of somehow kept them at least.
Thanks roturn.

I guess I missed an important discussion here, sorry guys.
Given the different arguments I reckon that the replay is the wisest decision. It was caught in an earlier phase and it definitely justifies itself since the race is defined as hilly. Thanks for your commitment in solving this so swiftly roturn. This is always going to provoke mixed reactions but it's a thumbs up for me.
That said, I'd love to see Borges a little bit more attentive than what he showed in this first stage. Too many team clusters at the front of the bunch in the end, not good. Anyway, congrats Eden!

Just to voice it before it's too late, you might want to take a look at Deutschland Tour stage 6 and 7 aswell, as they look like stages that could be mountainous if not mingled with. Tour of Tasmania stage 2 could also be one.

Just checked them and all are fine to use.
Thanks. |

Good stage by Vanendert, we are in contention for our Top 10. Looks like Hugo Boss and Cunego still are game for the GC so replay turned out well eventually. Now if only Strava would go into botdss...

Cunego in a very similar position, on a very similar time gap, just now with the points jersey, so I cannot complain. Shame Scarponi had more riders in front of him, but also the gap to the leaders was similar for him in this re-run.

Wow, what a performance from Gazelle and Monfort. That is a great result and could be hugely important for the battle against those teams charging them during the Tour de France.
Also a nice effort from Dyrnes to give Aker a nice race already.

Lost a few places compared to the first run, but still happy with a top 10. Losing the youth jersey is disappointing though.
Agree with Shonak, a botd would be nice for us as well.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Congratulations on the win, DubbelDekker!
And wow, that's very good from Dyrnes. Kind of too good, I'd say, as three of the top six riders on the Queen stage are riding for PT teams. I think that's too much, as this is supposed to be PCT teams' battleground. I suspect the somewhat surprising low amount of teams with top puncheurs in the PCT racing this band must help, as this is luckily not a normal thing when PT teams join the HC races.
Obviously though I'm very happy with 5th place and the way Dyrnes got it, being alert and going with the move before the top favourites made their attacks. Hopefully he can be lucky with his daily form on the upcoming stages as well, as that could mean he runs away with a top 10 in the GC here.
Thank you for the quick reporting after it was decided the race was going to be re-run as well, roturn.

really shame about this race and its curse though, hopefully last incident like this season.

Good that the rerun is similar to the first one, gotta feel for Netia though...
Congrats DD, looks like Monfort never really wanted to leave PCT after all!

Vakoc just fails and fails this season. Even in PCT no sign of at least a decent result at all.

Had hoped for better, but not a shock that the toughest stage was too hard for Meyer. Hope that frees him up for some attacks on the coming stages.

Nope. Sucks to see that nice KOM jersey just vanishing.
Fingers crossed here, that Vakoc will score atleast a few points. He really need to step up soon. He and Sagan will be great next season though.

Pure class by Monfort! Very impressive performance for a rider in decline.
Sadly the hilly support team I sent here is not Gazelle-worthy, which got even worse with Agudelo crashing out. So defending that jersey will definitely be a challenge. Looking forward to it!
About the earlier discussion: I agree that for the sake of game balance hilly rated races shouldn't be decided by the mountain stat. We know for a fact that SN and roturn have a great attention to detail and I'm pretty sure that the calendar and AVG/wage algorithms are very well balanced to make sure that all types of riders are viable. An entire hilly tour going mountainous would disrupt that balance. The hilly stat should decide at least 50% of performance and nothing less.
So good decision to rerun. But very sour for Croatia of course; thanks for the effort you put in!

Going from 2 riders in the top 5 to all hope of achieving our goal or just a good GC lost, goodbye to points and decent Teams and KOM while we're at it, that hurts...
I mean LLS should still be a podium contender and Palini should still be a top 10-15, replay or no.
Thanks Roturn for the report.

Feel really sorry here for you.
While playing I liked to see similar riders in front. And then 1km later suddenly LLS struggled while looking strong before...can`t explain this really. Must have had really bad form on that day... |

Decent result by Kadri here, can't really expect more. This allergy to joining breaks should come to an end though
