Sprints are quite the lottery, weirdest top 10 so far. Congrats to Count!

I wonder what happens now in the mountains...the stages seem too easy for Pluchkin to be able to drop Gesink, i expect rather another show from the flying dutchman.
Most of them look like the stage Gesink won. The only stage with multiple big climbs doesn't even have a top finish (waaaaaaaaaaaaaait, that's more likely for Gesink to crash).
I guess Pluchkin will eventually get out of his bubble and gain some time back I doubt it will be enough.
As for sprinters, they are just giving the green jersey to Gesink.

Love the way Holst Enger is performing this Vuelta, being mister consistent himself, even without help in the fight for wheels and positions. Congratulations on the stage win, CountArach! Seemed like Kennaugh mistimed it badly, and then there was no coming back as Keukeleire was already flying.
Thank you for the report, roturn!
Looking forward to the upcoming mountain stages now. Fingers crossed Guldhammer can keep up what he started late in the first week, then this could become a very good Vuelta for us. |

Would be quite a win for Gesink, and I believe he will be able to hold it. 9 minutes is a large lead

Good to be in the break. Hopefully, we will be again on the mountain stages to have a shot at the KoM jersey...
A Big Thank You To All MG Reporters!

Another shit performance by Coquard who are becoming more of a joke than a sprinter. To have thought I was planning on spending 3,7mio on him in the off season to make him a top sprinter - Hah!
81SPR, 83ACC and 84REC and then he get's 2 points from four tries in a regular sprint. Pathetic! The last two times he didn't even try, despite the fact that he should obviously become stronger and stronger against sprinters with 83, 83, 82, 80, 80, 78, 77, 76 REC and so on...
My former leadout sprinter, Keukeleire can win, sure... Atleast I like him a lot still, and feel bad for having to sell him. Congrats on another great GT win Count!
Lecuisinier doing what is expected and keeping himself close to the front here. Now for a couple of race deciding stages. Hopefully Lecuisinier, Vasyliv and Campero can all do well here to get higher in the U25 competition aswell as fighting for a decent Team GC.

If Gesink still loses this race it would be some true rabofail spirit come to the MG.

Thank you for the report, roturn, even if it was painful to read
Hopefully that was Guldhammer's only very bad day in this Vuelta. TVG suddenly looks a lot more difficult to catch, gapping our captain with 90 seconds on a proper mountain finish. Hopefully Guldhammer can strike back already on the upcoming stage, he definitely needs a good performance there, as his top 10 placing is suddenly looking very unsecure, at best.
Congratulations on the win, Gustavovskiy!
And Brambilla is about to make this race even sweeter for eBuddy. They're just bossing it completely. That's also one MTF finish done, only three left now to loose nine minutes to Pluchkin for Gesink. It just can't happen, I think. |

No need for Gesink to chase after attacks. He has Brambilla for that

That was a very nice stage to read through. And Lecuisinier made it even better by going so strong! That was a super performance.
Piter Campero ever so slightly worse than anticipated, while Vasyliv clearly being injured. That is really too bad.
Back in the U25 jersey is really the icing on the cake here.
Marc Goos overperforming yet again, and seems content to keep doing so. That can be very important for Vesuvio who had a very poor season so far (their biggest races are yet to come though).

Pluchkin clearly started this race with the wrong foot and can't find the form. The next stage should be better for him though, as more fatigue kicks in and the final climb is also harder.

Thanks for all the reports, sorry I've not been around to read them. Not sure how well Nibali and Lutsenko are working as a duo, it seems Nibbles' has been struggling in the hills but maybe it's not related. Interesting to see how it works out and who can hold on where. Gesink's going great guns though, hope he can win it outright.

Sorry guys, have been very busy the last days, but oh my god, there is absolutely NOTHING in it for us here.
Of course this is by far our weakest GT lineup, but come on at least join breaks ffs! Bongiorno also definitely underperforms, him and Herklotz should really go for the KoM but alas...will be tough to even scratch the 100 points here

Great reading once again, thanks roturn!
Quite happy to see Velits actually not losing time on a mountain stage and gaining on worse riders than him. Really solid result. Sagan continue to enjoy a good race - but almost all better puncheurs are doing well here. And quietly Michael Kolar is doing quite ok too. 31th in GC, not bad.

Gesink did himself a huge favour by not losing time there. Fun stage.
