Dall'Oste to receive a major wage increase, he just keeps going, what a Giro for him!
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Thank you for another report, sgdanny
Dyrnes is just amazing this Giro, another day where he tries his luck and claims another stage podium. Looks like he mistimed the final kilometers, as judging by the gap he closed by himself, he would probably have taken the stage if he was alert to Warbasse's and Vichot's move. That's a big if though, and I'm just very happy with his 3rd place, again riding aggressive and making the most of the opportunities he has been given here.
For Guldhammer, it looks like 8th place overall is what we'll get, eventhough he might go past Wellens with a lucky daily form in the TT. But that obviously needs a lot of luck, as Wellens is the better time trialist
Congratulations on the stage win, Mre! Warbasse with his stats will always be difficult to handle for breakaway companions, eventhough it's kind of surprising to see him claim stage glory on the hills, and not in the mountains. |

Henao's hill stat ruining Brambilla's chances at a top 10 here. I guess Brambi was looking after his captain as I don't think he would have had trouble sticking with the main group.
At least the team rankings seems to be settled now, as well as Henao's fifth place.

Congrats Mre for that win and Ollfardh for the KoM jersey! Always nice to see the wildcard team getting something out of this race. In especially when it`s one of the no GC wildcard teams.
Really happy here with my team. Villella once again showed his skills in the hilly terrain but I guess the ratio could have been something lower than 100% hill. Hence Warbasse was the ideal guy here. While De Bie could have done better obviously, I can`t be unhappy due to Villella/Olivier compensating it easily. Though feel for Gastauer as both top puncheurs now in this race were rather crap, while they could have done so much better in California.
eBuddy unlucky but Henao Montoya on this terrain is always a gamble. Main reason why Keizer was not send here or Vuelta seeing all the hilly stuff. |

Pluchkin better win the ITT, otherwise he is going to be the first Grand Tour winner without a stage win!?

Kwiatkowski injured then. Let's just hope he can hold onto a respectable finish on the final couple of days. |

Hoping for a good time trial of Malori!

@stage18
Damn, Alarcon on a good day is really unstoppable. We're now two minutes down on him, which might actually be a challenge if he has a good day in the TT as well. Fingers crossed.
@stage19
Nice stage, congrats to Mre!

Good to see that Serry has recovered in time for the hilly stages at the end here. Wellness and Kruijwijk both being in the front group is also nice, which may allow us to go into fourth place int eh team classification in the coming stage.
Nice win from Warbasse after a good stage.

Excellent stage that, 2nd and a big time gain to move up to 4th. We should be able to keep that but won't be tempting fate.

Well done Pluchkin. This should be a thrilling day tomorrow still but looking a lot better now.
Madrazo/Alarcon is really close. Wonder if there will be any group at all tomorrow between the GC riders. I expect a breakaway win and then a 30-50 rider peloton. So Alarcon might be on the lucky end in this duel. No matter what, impessive GC by him.
Nerz that high today is a surprise and imo a bit too close now to Olivier. So as said, I hope both are s.t. tomorrow.
Pure TT riders never performed well in second last day of a GT, in especially if it`s with a tough hill on the route. |

Yes!
I have to say i have somewhat expected the win in this stage, but still it could go worse with TT madness of this season, so this is perfect. A stage win, comfortable regain of the pink jersey and even the points jersey, it could not have been better stage!
For tommorow i hope for 10-15 riders (not dangerous) break winning , because of no points for Van Stayen please. (sorry knockout).
And of course Pluchkin safely on the bike.
Thanks for a nice report and shot of the rainbow jersey sgdanny!

Gratz, Avin. Commanding vvictory!
There won't be an Ozzy in tomorrow's break, i guess. So it's been an awful Giro.

Pluchkin is impressive because he had a Zubeldiesque performance up until this stage and still won the Giro with almost 2 minutes on the second
Alarcon, with no offense to DD, definitely deserved this 2nd place. He's had an incredible Giro and this must taste very sweet for Smowz who really was in danger of relegation before the season but who thanks to solid luck and great planning really isn't anymore I believe.
Looking forward to the last stage now to see if it will have been a sweeter Giro for Evonik or Metinvest! Thanks for the great reporting.
