Ignatiev can’t beat him, finishing 12 seconds down - I eagerly await his manager’s reaction to this latest underperformance.
F*ck you Ignatiev, f*ck you PCM TT randomness.
80TT flat beast and 15th place...hmm...okay.
Congrats to RBC and thanks for the report!

Bookwalter...tell me again, Cyanide, there is no National bonus.
Bennett with an above average prologue while Frison is about where he belongs.
Gesink and Ignatiev just like Durbridge with bad luck. At least the strongest won. |

Yess Phinney always the best stage to win in a stage race the first one with all those extra points and a slightly commanding win for a Prologue is always good not sure we can hold this lead until the hills as the sprinters are quite close |

RBC couldn't have hoped for a better start for sure. Tonnes of points thanks to this being the 1st stage and a possible advantage stat-wise given by the leader jersey.

I wish I had a TTer here just to be featured in the report and receive a small remark too, great unique report!
With every new TT I hope Arndt somehow overcomes his 56 TT but it didn't happen yet. He'll probably face a 3 minute deficit from the TTs alone, so the mountain stage has to be hugely selective.
No expectations for the sprint tomorrow.

and Gesink’s manager should really just be glad he didn’t find a way to crash.

Sicard for the GC, Kennaugh for the sprints, Viennet for the TT's. Expect a good showing from Orange here.
Good start with 3rd and 6th |

Not the best start from Vlatos, but he usually performs better, so I can live with that...
Coquard did what was expected so now we need him to be good and lucky to get something from it. Vasyliv overperformed drastically so fingers are crossed for that to continue.

Really funny report, a great way to make a TT report interesting.
VDB did amazingly well to finish inside the top 15. Hopefully a statement of intent.

Thanks for the kind words everyone, had no idea how best to write a report so just threw random stuff at it - and it appears to have worked
Stage 2 may be up a little later in the day tomorrow, as I'm currently in the midst of some flat troubles. Will definitely arrive though, just may have to wait until the afternoon for it. |

I often jump straight to the results in TTs ( ) but it was worth reading this one! A bit disappointing that there was no need to mention Chavanne due to his performance.
A Big Thank You To All MG Reporters!

A pity that Van der Sanden didn`t care about a sprint stage. Not that he could have made it into points though.
I noticed that at times you used "team flag + Name" and sometimes "Name + Team Flag".
Did you manually copy&paste all the flags? |

Aww, that was close for Durbridge. So close to take a stagewin, and even closer to take the lead.
Bryan Coquard not strong enough here. He should be fighting for top 5s.
