LOOOL!!! NO!!! Cancellara and Boonen is close on, but otherwise you're completely wrong.
Contador: 2 TDF and can nothing in TDF after doping suspension. One does not become one of the best ever by winning smaller races.
You are truly pathetic. Contador had won all 3 GT's at the age of 25. He's with the six riders who won all 3 GT's at least once and he's the only rider - together with Hinault - who has won all 3 GT's at least twice. A total of 7 GT's won, which is more than twice as much as Froome.
I dislike Froome a lot and I hate to admit it but yes, he is a good rider. But Contador is the best stage racer of this generation. Face it.
No you are not the best by winning small races like Giro and Vuelta. Tour on the other side, is the biggest race in the world and Froome is the best in this generation to win it. Contador on the other side is good to lose big in tour. |

Cavendish: Greatest sprinter ever.
Froome: Greatest TDF rider since Indurain.
Wiggins: The only one in history to win TDF, Track Olympic Gold, Road Olympic Gold, Road World Championships and Track World Championships.
Armistead: Top 3 greatest women bicycles ever.
Cancellara: Greatest time trial ever and one of greatest cobbles classic ever.
Boonen: Greatest cobbles classic ever.
Nibali: 4 GTs against very bad opponent and loser always big to the best in world.
Valverde: Is this another one of your Movistar jokes? Greatest rider ever to lose, lose GTs, lose World Championships and lose Olympic Games.
Contador: 2 TDF and can nothing in TDF after doping suspension. One does not become one of the best ever by winning smaller races.
So you say that Froome is historically better than Contador, just because he oficially has 1 more Tour. I must think that for you, being only the second ciclist in ALL history to win all 3 GT at least twice, after Hinault, and some people might consider he is the only one to have won each GT three times, is not enough for being considered historically better than Froome. OK
Contador is forth in all-time GT wins, with 7 (might be third, win 9).
Contador is forth in all-time stage races wins, with 22 (might be second, with 26). (Merckx has 30, Hinault 24, Indurain 23, Anquetil, Kelly and Contador 22) |

Welcome to someone raised by the British media
Fact: in Britain your 3 races that matter
1. Olympics
2. Tour de France
3. Worlds (only slightly and not as much since Cav stopped the 50 years since Simpson)
Literally no one cares about the Giro or Veulta here and until a Brit wins it they just won't it wrong but it's the way are media works hence why we have a lot of "fanboys" we are brought up to be patriotic and to view or athletes as Demi-gods. |

Giro/Vuelta is much small races compared to Tour.
As Europa League compared to Champignons League in football.
Contador og Servilla is good, but this is not Froome og Real Madrid. |

Well this conversation has carried on for a while in my absence.
It's gone do far off track from my original comment that I'm not even sure what everyone is arguing about anymore |

I think you've been on the site long enough to see that those are nothing. Back in the early days of the Sky Doping Thread I was involved in one involving 13 comments iirc.

Yeah, LeMond is great, but not one of the greatest. Neither is Froome, Cav, Wiggo or whatever. Boonen IS one of thje greatest, so is Cance, Contador likewise.
I'm sorry, but Cav is one of the greatest. We are talking about the sprinter with the most stage wins at the Tour. Bullshit if he's not one of the greatest imo
He's one of the greatest sprinters that's for sure but sprinters are easily the 'worst' of cyclists so they shouldn't be coming close in lists of greatest cyclists.
zabel'd by riis it seems
This! What is so impressive on being dragged to last 100 metres and sprint to the line?
Rider that can only win a race from the sprint cant be even seriously considered in discussion about greatest bike riders...

It's incredible to do it so many times and in so many years as Cavendish. |

In its own category yes, but it cant be compared with winning races like cobbled or hilly monuments several times, or winning toughest stage races. You have to do lot less for it, you are one trick pony...

If that is so easy, why is there no one else who can do it so many times?
And If that is so easy, how can your boyfriend Sagan had so many second places?
Yes it is easy for Cavendish, because he is one of the best cyclists ever. Just as it was easy for Beckenbauer to take ball from opponents. |

I said it is easy?
He is king of one category...the least interesting and admirable category.
I wont react to your bait about Sagan...

Btw. Petacchi has 48 GT stages under his belt, same number as Cav, Super Mario has 57 GT stages, both have also won WC and some other races, so i am not even sure he is greatest sprinter of all time, maybe joint with these two and these are only modern times, because older times were not operating with "sprinter" type, trains for sprinters were non-existant...
