Impressive ride once again by Schleck. Shame another year will go by without him facing Pluchkin.

Thank you for the reports, sgdanny.
Another convincing show of force from Schleck, and what a race it has been for him and SN, congratulations!
With only 12 seconds separating 4th and 7th overall, Gesink must feel slightly unlucky, eventhough he delivered a great time trial up Col d'Eze.
Great to have Galta inside the top 20 and Nesset inside the top 30. Combined with Holst Enger's sprinting, it was a great race for us. |

Very good final stage by Gesink. Still, it meant nothing in the end - no stage win and no GC improvement. Also, a bit disappointed by Brambilla. I thought he might be able to finish in the top 20 here, but clearly he is not see as a secondary leader when Gesink is racing.
I guess the teams classification is a nice consolation prize.
Thanks for the reports.

We have to be very satisfied with the fact that Pierre-Henri Lecuisinier takes 8th here. Significantly better riders are behind him, and taking 2nd in the U25 competition is nice when we pre-race were set for 3rd behind Morton aswell.
Besides Lecuisinier's great GC result we also feel happy that Bryan Coquard delivered two times in the top 5, ending up in him taking his first ever leaders jersey, although only for a short notice.
Seeing what we brought here we have to be extremely happy with the outcome. It could have been much much worse - And probably should have aswell.

Atleast he will face Spilak at the Tour. We have collected the very best possible setup for Spilak to make things difficult for Schleck. It probably won't be enough, but if we are to ever beat Schleck in a Grand Tour it has to be this season

Well, Morton with a bad race here.
Dennis did his best to save Oz though.

Thats true. Almost forgot Spilak were allowed to ride GTs after his schedule last year
Andy Schleck didnt look that superior in the Giro last year either, so Spilak definetely got a shot! Atleast he will have a slightly better team support than Ricco did then

Thanks for the reports danny, top workload. Dombrowski did excellently, podium and white jersey will be a good points haul. Congrats to SN, Schleck was imperious.

There's just no beating Schleck this year, even though it was pretty expected to see him taking this one. Congrats SN.
Thanks for the blistering pace danny with this and T-A.

Very happy with stage 7, that was perfect execution from Demare.
Thanks everyone for the nice words and yeah, better get used to this.
Overall also a great job by Arndt doing exactly what I got him for with that leadout while also somewhat salvaging our GC result in the end with Nerz failing to make any impact.
Some additional points in the jersey classifications are welcomed too, although I'm rather disappointed we don't attempt to go for breaks. I hope that'll change soon, especially in the GTs where my plethora of second to third tier climbers is supposed to do exactly that...
Madrazo and Gesink not using their race days too well and Keizer/Abal/VDB not really outscoring us either is very good news considering the mountains are our weak spot for now, congrats to SN at the front.
Thanks for the quality reports sgdanny, although I second the opinion that one or two extra shots of the last kilometres would be appreciated.
We aim for a quick pace of course, but I believe that little extra effort is worth it for the reading pleasure and excitement as well as the insight the managers can get out of the reports in regard to transfers and planning.

Thanks for the great race sgdanny, and congratulations to SN. I'm very happy with how it went for Amador, 4th is excellent and he was competitive with the very top names in the division.

Not a bad timetrial by Madrazo, but the gaps were too small for him to gain places. 6th is obviously a disappointing result. He'll need to up his game in the Giro, otherwise we'll soon be battling against relegation.
Congrats SN! Very dominant win by Schleck. And thanks for the amazing reporting pace danny,

Apparently Kritskiy didn't fully recovered from his crash, too bad. Congratulations to all the winners and reporter.

Wow, what a race by Andy Schleck, utterly dominant there and a slightly scary marker for the rest of the season.
Very happy with 2nd for Rein, despite a slightly disappointing performance on that final TT, I would have liked to have seen him come in the top 5, but hey ho, can't argue with 2nd overall, moving up from 5th overall last season.
That 4th to 7th is ludicrously tight, hard luck to eBuddy there, slim margins and all that.
And that's our first goal met too, very happy.

Sorry about the late response here - been on vacation for a few weeks.
Obviously very pleased by Viennet's win on the prologue. Just awesome to develop a rider and then see him win. Definitely worth the wait A shame to lose the yellow in a crash, though.
Also worth highlighting Sicard's effort, sneaking his way into top-5. Can't blame the guy for not trying to advance even more. He did, even when it seemed like a waste of energy
Not much to say about Schleck. Just on a different level to everyone else in this race. |
