PS on paper there were a Hil/MO ration on the stage, even though the result doesn't showcase that. So seems the crash was the end for Nibali here.

Is the hill/mountain ratio possible to change in PCM15? If yes, I thought it should be changed to a ratio where only the hill stat mattered/a ratio where the hill stat mattered as much as possible considering the stages (4 & 6) were rated hilly. That has at least been done with mountain stages in earlier seasons when the ratio has been wrong compared to the profile rating.

I would like to heavily disagree, everybody who knows a tiny bit about the ratio (and the game) will have been aware while planning that these stages are likely to be very close to 0.5 and therefore nothing for di Maggio, just like Gilbert would be nowhere on such profiles irl.

IF we alter the ratio artificially for stages like this, it needs to be announced before planning that any hilly stage is 0 ratio.
I specifically put Bongiorno into this race and Kelderman into Grand-Duché because this was somewhat going to suit Bongiorno and not suit Kelderman, and the result proves me right. This is part of the planning intricacies and maybe one point where experience comes into play (and we need those in the MG imo).

100% agree. As for people who know nothing about the game being disadvantaged, I haven't played a PCM title without it being for reporting the Man Game in 3-4 years and I still understand quite well that stages which are rated hilly can still have mountain stats as a huge influence, and estimating these things is just part of planning.

One crazy stage left, a breakaway to take away the bonus seconds would be helpful.

Well Truffles has done it some how in a crazy attritional Tirrano - Adriatico.

From Red Bull's point of view I am delighted to have three young guns in the GC top 25.

The MO/HI ratio is a constant bone of contention - I recall once having to re-write a Basque Tour because the MO ratio was too heavily influencing one of the stages. This thing that strikes me though is why the gaps are so pronounced here - is it because the length of the stages? The strength of the teams?

Also - there are too many crashes to my likings. I have had 5 so far, and we are just getting started. Those are the mentioned once. I think only good riders are mentioned, it would feel weird if only important riders crash.

This, is there some way to tune down the crash ratio? Because riders are falling left and right in every race, also the biggest favourites and that really can hurt a lot for some teams, only because of bad luck.

From what i have seen this year, i would be shocked if Pluchkin should cruise through two GTs without a crash, i have already somewhat accepted it.

Then again we had no information about crashes being so frequent, much more than last year, this was maybe visible from the testing? This brought me to other part to SotDs post and i agree with him that we need all the information, especially managers who are not present in reporters forums, where it seems some important discussions are taking place. Smile

/end of bit off topic

Not a good two stages for Metinvest, it is a shame that both Ignatiev and Tanovitchii just stay in the pack and got dropped, instead of trying something, we are still waiting for our first rider in the break and only one stage left...i hope Ignatiev will jump into break, he would be ideal guy for last stage. If not, i hope for sprint finish, where Grosu can be podium or top5 shot.

Congrats to Aker and Evonik and also Tinkoff, hopefully Trofimov wont fall.
I'll be back

The off topic part:

Mo/Hi ratio; is a non discussion for me, the profile clearly shows that stage 4 and 6 are more mountainous than for example stage 2, a hilly rider with bad Mo stats is better off at Grand-Duché.

Crashes: yes there are quite a lot but in the end it will balance out over the season. If I look at my team, normally I would have Trofimov top-3 in Badaling and Tirreno, now with the randomness and crashes it is 1st and 14th (almost same points). I believe/hope that futher into the season everybody will have a similar situation.

Stage win and KoM jersey? This race turned out to be better than I had expected after all.

Moment of shock!

8th in GC ain't perfect, still not happy about Bobridge's showing in the most crucial stage..but anyway, two stage-wins and a couple of decent stage results still make for a good production. Bobridge definitely amongst the most active here. It feels llike he could had attacked the points jersey if he hadn't crashed today.

Thanks for all the reports! Great pace.

What a race! Machado showing he is to be counted upon every sort of uphill terrain, while Trollfimov earns me a nice bet!

Cool victory for Boswell too in this last stage. Congrats Potatomon!

I enjoyed these reports a lot as well, especially with the race interpretations. Thanks for that and for the great pace!

Very good race by my team.

De Bie in 5th in his potentially best stage race this year due to the clashing hill classic. Boom and Schachmann also very good which reward me a nice team position as well.

Stage results though a bit unlucky with Swift crashing in his best chance and then a break winning the final day. Quite badly spent race days for him, though not that many other races possible anyway.

Thanks for the reports!

The crashes in the last stage actually had a pretty large effect. Kangert rose from 14th to 12th in GC because Serry and Dyrnes lost time. Hard to be happy about places gained through crashes, but this does make sure that Kangert has fulfilled my pre-race expectations.

Monfort slightly disappointing. Koren same in GC, but his KoM points make up for this. Overall I'm content about this race.

Congrats to winner Tinkoff! Trofimov is still a scary beast.

Thanks for the reporting!

To be fair I said it from the start Pfft

Well, crashes made this a bizarre race that could have been a lot more exciting and unpredictable GC wise otherwise, or maybe not, and Nibali would have won it easily, but what do we know.

Congrats to Oleg and Alex for GC and last stage's win.

Ahh, i fotgot that thread was up, i see i have voted for "higher in classics, lower in stage races".

Btw. what was the outcome, how it is actually set in game?

Funny how many people in that thread said that 100% does not give more crashes than before, so we can even raise it. Now we all see what the reality is - multiple crashes in every race. Smile

Loads of people were for 0 crashes, i would change my vote now too to 0 crashes, when i see the high amount.

Thanks.

So what was the purpose of poll, when the winning result of poll is not used?

It`s 100% as this was the highest vote for a general setting.

About the same amount of votes were for even higher and lower. So the balance was pretty much at 100%

The highest vote with a few more than 100% were for a different setting for classics and stage races. But there were quite a few managers with very good arguments against such difference as some teams, who are focussing on cobbles for example would be punished while a mountain team focus would be rewarded. Hence it shouldn`t be different between the kind of races.
Plus it would be extra work for reporters to change it before every race they start (Obviously not the hardest of work, but if you forget, you basically need to re-run the race and so on).

In the end, yes, now it could be argued if 100% was too much. This is like everytime that you often know better after finishing. Though changing the value mid-season is neither ideal as it should be same the whole season and obviously could be discussed after the season with a new poll to change it for 2017 onwards.

And even better arguments were put to the fact that you cant loose 21 race days from crashing in the classic. Wink

But i am aware the last call is made by MGUCI (while some opinions are heard much more than others) and poll was just informative and also that we cant change it midway, that would be unfair indeed.

Thanks for explanation roturn.

Really poor race for my team. At least a top 10 sprint result in the final stage, but still poor.

Thanks for reports.
