TBF going out with Del Potro is not as big of an upset compared to the other 2.

When he's not injured he easily is top 5 in the world if not more.

One of the unluckiest players on tour, very happy for him to try for another medal even if he never reaches the heights he deserved. Venus losing wasn't that huge an upset, she hasn't really been dominant much in the last 5-6 years at least outside of Wimbledon.

Definitely some crazy results coming in though with the Williams' doubles loss, Aga Radwanska out in the first round and Millman beating Berankis 6-0 6-0.

Anyone following basketball? I always watch Team USA during these events, kinda fun to watch them demolish everyone. A lot of the best players turned them down - LBJ, Westbrook, Curry, Kawhi etc. - but they should still win relatively easy. Had been fun to see Curry on this team, 4 Warriors with Durant on board... not gonna be fun for the rest.

48-26 at the half, it's not even fair. To beat the US, all your shooters have to stay hot all game, and that's just not gonna happen

15/08/22 - SotD said "Your [jandal's] humour is overrated"
11/06/24 - knockout said "Winning is fine I guess. Truth be told this felt completely unimportant."

I spoke too soon its a bit of a joke but you could see US slipping up against better opposition. They seem to struggle with differing rules with NBA.

I think the only way of beating the US would be to foul Deandre Jordan every possession, I think half of the people in the crowd shoot free throws at a better rate than him Pfft

Spain are the only hope, and even then theres not much chance.

Never forget 2004 guys Wink

Really hopeful that the Boomers can finally get that elusive Olympic Medal. They've got 4th a couple of times but now we have a stronger team than ever before. Two nice victories over France and Serbia so far and set for the biggest test facing the USA next. If we keep up this current form, it should be straightforward to beat China and Venezuela and get to the knockout phase in second place.

when can we point and laugh at germany, they have medals chances today so it might be our last chance translation: SO RAN THE OLYMPIC NIGHT ! Again, no medals! Historical false start

Looking forward to Phelps vs Le Clos tonight.

Swimming tourney has been good so far. Hate towards Sun and Efimova has added something extra. Hope Efimova can take gold in the 200m.

Wouldn't rule out the Hungarians, that spicy Kenderesi guy is my pick. Top name for the future, that nation really manages to crank out better and better swimmers.
