That was annoying camera work at the finish, I like the side on shot for replays and at the start of the sprint but to have it for the whole finishing straight instead of a head on camera shot is peaty bad.

I loved it, perfect camera for unique sprint!

Unique because of the location? Because as a sprint itself it's hardly unique Wink

Was that Haller who dragged Guarneri (?) and Kristoff to the front from NOWHERE? That was among the most impressive things i've seen this Tour.

Also looks like Purito dropped off the back and lost 31 seconds, if this stands he'll drop to 10th on the GC

Yup, the effort killed both Guarneri and Kristff though. Both completly empty after the final turn and makes for the perfect situation for a full Greipel to take the win. Sagan would probably have won if he was in Kristoff's wheel instead

Kreuziger gaining a spot in GC?
I'll be back

Yes, if it stands and no crashes or hold ups then Kreuziger and Martin go up one and Purito down to 10th.

Also I hated the side shot camera for the whole sprint too - it's fine when you can see Cav and Renshaw have 10 bike lengths anyway before cutting to it but in that shot you had no clue what was going on - save it for the replay! Angry

Happy for Greipel though - keeps a great record intact and reward for keeping on keeping on.

dev4ever - Probably, but without that insane pull by Haller then Kristoff probably would have ended up 7th or something, if even that. They were so far from the front at the 1K mark.

That would suck massively if thats the cause for Purito. All that work yesterday just to let it all go to waste today

They did what they had to do indeed. Just a shame he dont have anymore than 2-3 domestiques for any sprint stage really, all the other teams have more (maybe except for Sagan) and that makes it really hard to stay in the front for the entire final without spending shitloads of energy

True, he probably has a good chance at winning if they have another Haller infront of Haller there so to speak Pfft

Apparently a crash happened inside the last 3 k's so no time loss for Purito and he stays in 7th

Why there are rules, when they constantly break them when it is useful for them? Not that it matters so much for Kreuziger or Martin, but that is another case this year, when the rules are created after the incidents...
I'll be back

This whole tour organization has just been fail after fail. no reason to have rules if they can be arbitrarily changed on the spot.

Anybody who was watching could see that groups were being spit out the back without a crash actually holding them up.

To be clear I'm not defending the inconsistent application of rules that seems to be common place by the commissaires but commentary mentioned a further incident not fully caught on camera in the last km or so. There was a momentary shot of some disruption down the bunch but it wasn't clear at all on the distant camera shot.

It's possible there was another crash is all I'm saying but, of course, we'd all be less doubtful if rules were clear and implementation of them was consistent...

Talking of which, Dan Martin shhhhh!
