That doesn't make sense, shouldn't Porte be at least ahead of Rodriguez now? Froome started the stage 2:22 ahead of Porte,so no. |

This starts to look like when riders crossing a railroad crossing.
If the crowd decide to block the road, that is then just a part of racing.
It will open up very dangerous stuff among thousand of psychos. Next time one can just hit a rider and block the road so their favourit can ride to victory.
The jury got a very dangerous decision to make. They could make it "Open season on all riders"
Team Sky will not dare to come to races like this and ASO will get their All France TDF.
You do realise its not ASO who make the decison on this don't you? It has nothing to do with them as it's the UCI race judges who make these decisions.
If they want to change the rules for situations like this (which needs to happen) then the teams and race organizers should petition the UCI to re-write the rules at the next UCI rules committee meeting.

Porte was 30 seconds back on Purito before the stage. If they have given Porte Mollema's time, he has won only 19 seconds back. |

I'm all for Fromy in yellow, he surely deserves it, but it is problematic next time when it is a rider not in yellow, and he fall with 2 km to the top due to a bike, what then, eliminate the last 2 km of The mountain ?
Exactly. It leaves rules open for interpretation. Someone gets cut off at a railway crossing and loses time? A rider gets knocked off their bike by a spectator and loses a minute? What happens now?

Totally unfair for Mollema, who quickly picked up his bike and kept riding...

That revised GC is correct if they give all 3 Mollema's time. they have effectively been penalised a little as he was held up some...but that's all folks. |

So a motorbike was after all the reason for Froome started to train for the Olympics marathon
It crashed him from behind and broke his bike. Well as Kittel said. Time for smaller scooters....

Urrgh!!! Of course they made this decision, the rules of this sport really only apply on some occasions don't they. Wonder what decision they would of made if it had happened to one of the riders who wasn't fighting for the GC and he decided to complete some of the course without a bike. Hell I remember when Abdoujaparov had that horrible crash in Paris years ago right near the finish and he was very badly hurt and they still made him get on the bike and helped over the line, he wasn't allowed to just walk over the line or he would of been DQ'd. I don't blame Froome for this, it's on the UCI to enforce the rules.

This result is a disgrace for my trust in cycling fairness. I´m done with this years Tour de France - see you on MG and ICL, but not at the TDF thread this year anymore

After the strategic nature break, this was karma, wasn't it? Bad luck to Porte in particular and Mollema. The latter might have got the yellow otherwise with Froome's incident! Loooooooooooooooool.
You are saying that this is karma but Movistar could have attacked after the nature break. There was nothing stopping them.Nothing.They waited.
I never mentioned Movistar. That's not the point. I'd have loved to see Nairo ahead after his attack but he wasn't strong enough to get a gap. Adam Yates would've worn the yellow jersey, and deservedly so. And if Mollema can dust himself off and continue, so should the others. There shouldn't be any privilege. It's a yellow jersey, not a Survivor immunity idol!
Also, what's up with the English commentator defending Froome like he's family or something? Are commentators allowed to be so outwardly biased? He even called the crowd shameful after they booed Froome on the podium.

Thats only because the Moto in front had to stop so is it a surprise that a Moto behind didn't have time to stop?

So they basically used the 3KM rule but the rules clearly state that exact rule is not in work on this stage

The only thing to stop this madness with psychos crowding the roads will be to fence the last 10km in. TOTALLY.
Sad but look at football stadiums and hooligans. UCI and ASO needs to take this on with force.
Probably too many cops was in Paris for their 14 july celebrations, and then those poor blokes have been stretched thin after all mess in France the last years.
With all cameras crazy folks could be indentified and later brought to justice. CCTV helps getting hooligans in football fights so it's only the will and determination that lacks a bit.

But spectators shouldn't affect the race results I think.
About the second paragraph:Well,it is because the commentator is English,so he is nationalistic. |
