There is no problem with going into the mountain ranges in other countries Wink Especially not when Valverde stole your boys podium

I trusted you Sad

And I kinda saw that coming yesterday, didnt even think he would get top 10. Wouldnt even wanne podium after throwing away a win like that but thats just me

In all this what could Nieve have done, if not supporting Lands at the start.
He came away with the MOUNTAIN jersey for Sky.
That was indeed a nice salvage of a lost GT

When was the last time we had 8 or more different riders wearing the leaders' jersey at some point throughout the race?

2011 Vuelta had 9 different riders in the leaders jersey Fuglsang, Bennati, Lastras, Chavanel, Rodríguez, Mollema, Froome, Wiggins, Cobo

After the first 18 stages the winner of the Giro d'Italia had 1 solitary point in the mountains classification Pfft

Which goes to show that changing jerseys doesnt make for a good race Wink
What a race that was. I would honestly rather watch the Giro 2012 on replay

No way Nibbles won by luck. The downhilling ability is also part of riders qualities and moreover road cycling is a team sport.

Wonder who's gonna win before Nizzolo tomorrow... =D

At least something for Taaramäe on this spring. I did not expect that one.
day after team leader crash he go's and takes one. Most unstable rider in peloton.
But he is one .. Who has never touched a dope. He's type would have needed that extra kick when he was on he's peek.
Old guys ..how they keeping doing it. After all Nibali still winner (fuck you Vino )
Valverde still at podium

The way sky rode this giro reminds me of the way Tinkoff rode at the 2014 TDF after Contador abandoned

I from Poland. Majka saw "I will atack", "My goal is TOP3". So when he want attack? Tomorrow or in 4th week of Giro? Grin His style is very, very boring...

Maybe it's his style or much more likely he just doesn't have the energy to attack as someone else (Alak?) posted yesterday.

Not always cyclists can realistically set their expectations. He probably will be in a much better shape when Contador will need him in July.

Nibali's GT luck Pfft

Vuelta 2010 - Igor Anton is riding very well and is in the leaders jersey, but crashes out. Nibali picks up the jersey after him and wins the Vuelta

Giro 2013 - Wiggins has come to the Giro with a strong team, with a very strong super domestique in Uran Uran, but Wiggins hits the ground so many times during the early stages of the Giro due to some massive rain, and abandons.

TDF 2014 - Both Froome and Contador crashes out of the TDF before they even reach the mountains, and Nibali brings home the victory with ease.

Giro 2015 - Being 4,49m behind Kruijswijk before the last two big mountain stages Nibali seems to have lost the Giro. BUT THEN, Kruijswijk crashes and then have to change his bike, which results in him missing the Valverde/Majka group and leaves him all alone to ride. Nibali then only have to overcome Chavez who is known to ride a bad third week, and just like that, Nibali won his fourth GT

Conclusion.. You have to stay on bike to win GT. Is it he's fault that he can?
He' s luck that Chaves having bad 3 week?
Who' s luck was that he himself sucked 2 weeks?

Please find the passage where i am writting that he doesn't deserve his win, or that i don't think it's important for riders to keep their asses on their bikes, if they want to win.

You have to recognize the pattern behind Nibalis wins. He is a great entertaining rider who rewarded himself but damn.. he is lucky.

I can understand why people think he is lucky, but you could also see it from another point of view: That he is unlucky that his wins will be considered by some to be due to luck.

I would have loved Anton to win the 2010 Vuelta, huge fan, but he's never proved that he can perform over three weeks, so who knows what might have happened. In the 2014 Tour Nibali had a solid advantage already, and later put up some impressive numbers on the climbs even without Contador or Froome to push him to the limit. Again, who knows?

This Giro you could say he was lucky Landa abandoned, but with Landa there are so many unknowns. And Kruijswijk's crash and subsequent time loss would never have happened without Nibali in the race. Nibali creates his own luck. It's not like he's Steven Bradbury.

Just another point of view. I don't disagree with you completely.
