So, now you're telling me I can't assemble the African superteam?!
Just kidding, good to know you're sticking around. Would have been a shame to see Project broken up. Hopefully you'll make it to the PT too now sooner rather than later. |

Yea sorry mate. You'll still have me snapping at your heels in transfers this season. Hopefully I can join you in the PT soon!

Thanks mate! I'll always look to keep the same sort of image with the team, despite the "main" sponsor.

When will Telkom hire you to do their jerseys for real?
Good luck in the upcoming season

Thanks for the kind words guys!
As the various teams are in talks with riders to renew contracts, one rider without a contract is Spanish stage racer David Abal. A team making their ambition for his signature clear is Team Telkom for Africa.
With an increased budget with thanks to Telkom, the team is likely able to afford a rider of such a high calibre. They have made it clear that they wish to be seen as a climbers' team - the return of prodigy Louis Meintjes from loan and riders with the likes of Bennett, Stetina, and Augustyn would - in theory - provide excellent support for Abal. Eastman is the current mountains leader, but he has made it clear to return to the Tour of America after an unfortunate 2014 version. This leaves a large gap in the calendar for a new leader.
The outcome, however, will be decided during a chaotic transfer season. Although, the fact that Abal was seen training during this European winter on the roads surrounding Cape Town greatly hints at his interests for 2016. Team manager Aidan said the following when approached for comment:
Well, we have Ryan [Eastman], but we need another big hitter. The fact that Abal is without a contract makes him a big target for us. Sure, we are open for the possibility of other free agents or buying from another team too. Heck, I know Quickstep isn't happy with Madrazo! Haha, yea just kidding... Or am I?
Of course, I'd like to spend some money elsewhere instead of buying a new rider, so a Free Agent does seem the likely scenario. Either way, we'll have to wait for transfers to begin to see if who's willing!

Whilst we are in the midst of an exciting transfer season we see it fit to announce our goals for the upcoming races. For some of the races chosen are specifically for targets in the transfer market, whilst others are chosen with current riders in mind.
| Tour of Eritrea [HC] | WIN |
A race on our home continent is sure to be a big goal for us. We are working closely with George Bennett and refining his training in the off-season so hopefully we can see it pay of here. Last season the race was won by Michal Kwiatkowski (Kenya Airways) and we believe that George Bennett can replicate that success.
Leader:
✯ George Bennett ✯
________________________________________________________
| Tour of America [C1] | WIN |
The USA is a region of interest for some of our sponsors and has always been visited by the team. Eastman nearly tasted success in 2014, but lost the raced due to a crash. After promising results in 2015, he has made his intentions clear to return to the 2015 addition.
Leader:
✯ Ryan Eastman ✯
________________________________________________________
| Tour of Vancouver [HC] | Top 5 |
A race with an interesting mix of MTT, TTT and mountain stages makes it an exciting race to take part in. We hope to provide sufficient TT support to our new leader. Eastman finished 7th here last year, just short of our top 5 goal. However, for 2016 we are looking to bring in a rider with a bit more mountain and TT firepower to move closer to the podium. We have a sights set on one particular rider...
Leader:
✯ ??? ✯
________________________________________________________
| Corsica Int./Int. Osterreich Rundfahrt [HC] | Top 5 |
Regardless of which race we chose, we'll need a climber who is a very strong TTer. As mentioned before, we have a very specific rider in mind. Our team is built for the mountains terrain, so we will show that off in the races like these.
Leader:
✯ ??? ✯
________________________________________________________
| Team Standings [PCT] | Top 10 |
We hope our 2016 transfer season will be a successful one. Our goals are ambitious, but realistic and we feel that a top 10 in the team standings is very definitely on the cards. With this, we hope to gain promotion to the Pro Tour for 2016!

First Signing Announced - Ben Nasser! It is with much delight that we announce the signing of Tunisian puncheur, Hassen Ben Nasser! He is arguably the best punchy rider from the African continent and has always been a target for us. We are happy to have struck a deal with Kenya Airways and FroomeDog for his signature. We look forward to what he will do for us this season!
