Hi there,
Am currently trying to write myself a nice tour, however I'm coming across a few issues:
- Having struggled through my initial problem, the game now displays my stage, tries to load it, then crashes during the loading screen.
- The stage loads fine in Stage Viewer, and doesn't crash at all there, so I'm not sure what the issue is...
- Would it be possible for someone to tell me what I'm doing wrong, why my stage crashes, or give me advice as to how to stop that happening?
- Feel free to take a look at the stage, have included it below.
Thanks in advance!

At what point does the stage crash when loading?

I tried to export it without building the cities and it works for me. Let me try with cities, but to me it seems like there is no apparent issue with the stage itself.
edit: and it does indeed work with cities too.

He said the problem was trying to load the stage, not exporting.

What I meant is that I exported it and then tried it in game too (which worked fine).

Sounds like rather something went wrong adding it in-game. Have you tried to either lower your graphics or play it as a tdf stage (so for example top_tdf_01_test)?

Thanks for the quick replies -
If the stage works, there's probably something broken with my database entry which might explain it(?), I'll try it as a TDF stage and see if that works.
EDIT: Can confirm it works as a TDF stage.. What does this mean I need to do? What have I done wrong in the database? |

Well, what have you done before? Also, what do you want to achieve? Create a new race or just use it as a variant for an existing one?

One possible issue that comes to my mind is that your file name doesn't include the suffix indicating the name of the variant. It should look like top_russia_01_*name*.
Just insert the label for your variant instead of *name*.

I'd like to create a new (Grand?) tour, if possible, and I'm sure I've done this in the past, but I'm using Lachi's editor to add a new race with a new ID, then adding the stage in, and adding the stage IDs to the race in the database..
I assume that part is working, honestly, am not sure which bit isn't, though...
The database is below, the tour is the "Tour of Siberia".. in theory.

I can play the stage after I renamed it to top_tos_01_test with your database, it seems like it's fine there. However, I would recommend using the fast editor for PCM 2015 databases in the future.

There are several mistakes.
1. If the filename is top_tos in the db, it has to be called like that in the folder as well.
2. Last stage, if it's a GT, can't be the same as first stage.
3. If it's 21 stages long, you can't use the xml file of Romandie, use the one of tour/vuelta/giro instead.
4. Number of stages has to be fixed accordingly to the number of stages (I guess 21).
5. In sta_stage you only added the first stage.

Thank you all!
Didn't realise how it worked, honestly - Figured I'd test each stage individually and then add them to the tour as I worked, unaware that it wouldn't work at all with only one!
Alas, but now I know - Thank you again |
