The journalist from ARD Hajo Seppelt who is behind the investigation of Mark Bonar have just said that the doctor said this, to the guy they had sent in to spy.
Bonar talk about how a british bike rider did increcibly well on the Tour de France mountains after being under his care.

Furthermore the Hajo Seppelt are considering what to do with the names he has found doing his research. But he is a little hesitent, it is according to himself, very, very big names that have been under Bonar's treatment,
as Hajo Seppelt says "but just because they have been under his treatment doesn't mean they have been doped by him."
So i'm thinking Wiggins, Thomas or perhaps Froome. This could be a huge negativ upset in the cycling world if this leads to anything.

I seriously doubt it would be those 3, Sky would keep everything in house with the A team and no way Sky would be paying for Bonar's services.
I have a feeling this story is more talk than substance and not much will end up coming out of it, the one thing that I missed and only noticed when following this story is that doping is not a criminal offence in the UK,, doesn't give you much confidence in any anti-doping program being run in the UK

If a breakaway win to Mende is "incredibly well on TDF mountains" then i don't think we should worry too much about Bonar

Well from what I've read the doctor isn't a doping specialist. He simply prescribed certain legal medicines that a proper doctor wouldn't have prescribed as the athletes didn't have the relevant condition.
I doubt what he was prescribing was anywhere near as efficient as actual blood doping or the kind of drugs used by the Russians and Chinese 
Also, the doctor will be over-emphasizing the story to make more money from the reporter who he believed was a potential client. Also, if Cummings has never won a tour mountain stage before then I would say that winning a tour mountain stage is a rather large improvement |

One thing about Hajo Seppelt is, that it`s usually highly serious and well researched if he makes something public.
Hence if he speaks from a very big name, it`s most likely one of the top3-4 guys in the sport.
But I can fully understand if he is unsure to publish as his 2nd point is true as well. He won`t publish anything before it`s certain, that it was also an illegal program.
You might like him or not. But Seppelt is one of the most serious and trustful journalist imo. He is just not making many friends with his publications like in Russia back then. |
