Aren't there lots of forum members who communicate with each other on Skype? I think part of the activity has moved there.

Reading this just makes me glad that boy adminschleck is banned for lifetime. He has become a nuissance in his last months on the forum anyway.

Good, maybe then it'll work properly
Someone I know warned me last time that they'll stop supporting my current windows version. I was glad. Finally getting rid of always being forced to update for nothing
Don't spend much time on it anyway. Ubuntu is the shit!
And also related to the past discussion: site has changed immensely over the years, there's no denying that. Story section was so much more alive, cycling threads, too, even at this time of the year.
Now everything is more divided: you have those who play this, those who play that...
I also think PCM is gotten worse. I can hardly play it anymore. Loading times are awful, interface is depressing, it doesn't run smoothly. PCM 11 I remember was way faster, more efficient etc.
And also, people growing older. Was in High School when I joined (meaning: free time every evening), now closer to graduation and going to work. Today I've been working since 9 this morning until now. Only getting distracted twice. That never happened before and it looks like it'll be like that for the next 3 weeks.
So nothing new to add but wanted to say I feel that way, too and I think those are the main reasons
Still a great place to visit, but it feels more deserted than ever. Which is unfortunate, but nothing lasts forever. |

Seriously? I can honestly say that the opposite couldn't be more true for me. Currently using Chrome, before that used Firefox on my old laptop and had no problems whatsoever. IE has - in my experience - always been slow, crashprone and just generally difficult to use. |

I disagree. I believe PCM15 is a major step in the right direction for PCM. It's by far the best PCM ever made Ian. If I had more time today, I would write a better argument. |

Maybe it's because I've always used IE so I've become really used to it, but whenever I use Firefox or Chrome I just find it really hard to use, even if IE is probably slower.

Well. There are some parts that are true. It's a great game. Fantastic gameplay, graphics.
Be a Pro is pretty decent and quite addictive.
But in the end, loading times are essential to gaming enjoyment, for me personally.
I can't wait 4 - 5 minutes to play a stage. Especially if I only have half an hour to play, I won't waste 10 minutes waiting and only playing 2 races.
I agree that the game is quite good.
But PCM 12 or PCM 11 or whatever was good and fast. You could really get the ball rolling and keep playing. PCM 15 keeps bumming me out when I'm sitting in my chair waiting for the RvV to load (that one takes like 7 minutes. Okay maybe exaggerating a bit but it feels that long) |

If PCM11 and 12 are loading significantly quicker it just means your PC/Laptop can't support PCM15 as well. Nothing to do with game optimization or quality. I know for PCM14 i found load times game-killingly slow for 3D, got a new laptop an boom they sliced right down to what i was used to on 10/11/12/13. Now with PCM15 they are as quick as ever and the final game play is smoother and better looking.
Anyway, i feel that subject is definately not for the Off-Topic section of a PCM fan site
_______
They are stopping support of IE, but Microsoft is replacing it with this new thing (can't remember the name) that's supposed to be better. Shame it took IE right up to the end of its life cycle to get competitive with Chrome or Firefox, it was becoming a good little browser.
TBH i can never find that much difference between browsers. Layouts are near enough identical, and performance is marginally different. Use whatever you like, it's not a contest especially as they are all free-to-use!
________
This dicussion did lead me to re-read some sectons of old Pedros. Some really good conversations in there, mostly underneath piles of spammy sh*te though...

That's the one. I hvn't upgraded to Windows 10 yet so i don't know if it's anygood. But hopefully it picks up where IE left off, then it will be competitive with Firefox (which is what i use) and Chrome. Which is good for everyone.

I used ME for quite a bit, and it's an improvement over IE. Much smoother and quicker. If Microsoft care enough, they can optimise it more (sometimes it struggles to load pages with lots of information). |

I don't even know what IE I'm using, expect that every month youtube tells me that they'll stop supporting the current version of my browser to make me update - which I never do.
From what I've seen of Edge all I know is that you can draw on it, probably is alright, although I'm just used to IE so it's hard to start using another.
Only real problem for me is that my current computer or browser (don't know which) can't display pdf images without me having to click on them so they open in there own window, which is kind of annoying, especially as the ratings are pdfs.
