ICL16 - Race Discussion

Up to 7th?!?! This is unheard of. Shock

Still no stage win in a GT since Vuelta 2014 though. Would be nice but I can't complain if we get a top 10 out of it.

Bye Bye Porte

Nieve has moved down to 23rd, not even a top 20 now...

Schar in the break the only good point in the past four stages, and he did nothing in it. Pfft

The 14th stage was really weird. After the stage was done, I decided to make a video based on the replay, so you can see what happened.

In the spoiler some words from me on the result.

Spoiler
I'm very sorry about that stage to totally kill the tension of the fight for the pink jersey, especially as bad AI seem to be the reason. After each other Quintana, Froome and in the end also Contador dropped like dead flies. Vincenzo Landis then won with a ridiculous time gap on anyone else.

Also I'm concerned about that no break has one a stage so far. I don't know if it's because of PCM15's behaviour at GTs or because so many top class riders are present. By now at least 1 or 2 stages should have gone to a break at least imo.

I'm sorry for all those who were in contention for the GT win, but then again, I'm sorry for myself as well Pfft

So Nieve attacked before the video? (that's what I get from the pictures). If so, I'm very happy with that, he even moved up to 22nd in the GC. Pfft

Don't say you're sorry, can't blame your for PCM ai. The lack of breakaways is disturbing indeed, I hope some of the MG admins are also following this, cause I think it's been a weird season with PCM15 so far.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Let's look at the most important battle here guys,

RankNameTeamTime
1Umberto NardecchiaAlbert Heijn - Knab5h19'03
2Timo WoutersFilliers - Mora Pro Cycling Team- 09'14
3Philipp WalslebenAllianz - BMW Cycling Team- 1h29'06
4Rolando CaloTeam Alitalia- 1h30'01
5Giairo ErmetiAlbert Heijn - Knab- 1h32'17
6Alessandro DonatiAlbert Heijn - Knab- 1h33'21
7Jonas MichelsenAllianz - BMW Cycling Team- 1h39'31
8Pasquale ZaniTeam Alitalia- 1h40'32
9Jack BobridgeSmartone Cycling Team- 1h47'30
10Toni ForlaniTeam Alitalia- 1h54'43

Nardecchia has just 9'14 on Wouters, which could easily be made up in one 'good' stage. While there are plenty of riders close together if those two miss the time limit.

Unfortunately my riders aren't doing so well here either, with Rast in 29th...

What the f*ck happend to Anton?! He was going nice and out of nowhere he ends in the bottom...

Wow, Brambilla was 11th on stage 13, and was 15th overall. I was hopeful for stage 14 but he wasn't meant to continue off of that I guess. I just hope he can keep a top 20.

Oh please come on! Angry
Porte, why did you crash out? Sad
I'm just so set up now. The Giro is pretty much done for us. Some hope for breakaways still, but that's a huge amount of points lost.
I don't even care anymore for this sh*t GT

First off: Porte, nooooo. Sad

Hey now, each has picked up a stage win at least. It's just that Froome, Contador and Quintana are now down in Tartarus.... unless Nibali has a bay day.

That was one real strange stage, gutting result, and I thought the AI was mostly good till then: no words. The TDF was always the goal anyhow.

This is a race where we should put 300-500+ plus points into Allianz and I dread they might out-score us. Hell yes I am going to start some kind of PCM2011 story after this!

Thanks Bikex: no need to apologise. Wink

Well, I never thought I'd see the day where we 'legitimately' outclimbed Froome, Contador and Quintana. And still lose a place on GC.

Anyway, top 10 is still well on although a bit worried about bad luck coming around to get us like it has everyone else.

methinks the end of that url sums up this stage for everyone

15/08/22 - SotD said "Your [jandal's] humour is overrated"
11/06/24 - knockout said "Winning is fine I guess. Truth be told this felt completely unimportant."

Same feelings here. Aru now fifth in GC after all the big guys. Why this wasn't stage 21 Banana

I don't remember anything, probably he crashed. I don't know if it's possible but maybe he also became sick or something because now he seems to slowly recover..

Stages 15 - 17 posted: https://pcmdaily.com/forum/viewthread....st_1137175

Sorry about the quality of some pictures but my PC was again weird. Also I didn't take a picture of the 3rd in the timetrial as I didn't expect the rider to get on the podium.

Hoping for some break wins in the next stages now, only one stage by now went to a not top rider/stage favourite and that one was also some kind of AI fuckup.

This is one hell of a battle for the white jersey. It just keeps swapping. Shock
