1. States run the DMV so really it's the Governor I would be pledging to.
2. I actually did say the pledge of allegiance this morning in school. Pfft

No one in our classes say the pledge of allegiance. I think it's just understood that it's foolish to pledge allegiance to a country just because you're born in it.

This is how my sister got her driving licence:
She was in a student exchange program in the states and never drove a car before. Her host dad was a cop in York, PA. He took her to the closed driving course one day but got bored and asked his colleague to take some laps with my sister. On this closed course, there was not traffic (obviously) and no other cars so my sister had no problems with driving and parking the car. After 20 minutes she got her license.

Just had one of the best days in my life.
It started quite simple, with our band we had to play at a wedding reception. The show was pretty good so that was a good start.
Then an awesome talk with the drummer on the way back.
Got invited for french fries at his house.
Spend the entire evening with him, his wife and three awesome daughters watching some television and just having a nice time.

Lovely, lovely day. Smile

Yes, as in 12, 10 and 7 years old Smile
Greatest girls ever, though. And full of life, too.

(And, yes, our drummer is 39 years old. The grandpa of the band Pfft)

Just came back from a school trip to Tenerife, and I have to say I enjoyed it far more than I had expected.

Apart from the awfull resort we were staying in and the decadence of the bars and clubs along the beach at night, I really had a great time. Anyone interested in walking/hiking and beautiful landscapes should really take the uphill walk through the Masca Valley and go to Teide at sunset, and I've managed to take some fine pictures (mobile phone quality, some taken out of the bus) :

I'm moving to Sweden today. Should have internet when I get there but might not for the first few days, but not any longer. So I might be gone a few days.

Awesome,
Tonight our band plays in one of the biggest places in Ghent for a charity. Expected: 300 - 500 people in the crowd. We're the 'main act', followed by a DJ/afterparty.
Let's hope for a successful charity evening and that tonight will be legendary Grin

Good luck Ian Grin Is this your biggest band gig or have you done bigger? (sorry if you mentioned it recently Pfft)

Any chance of some soundcloud or other online stuff from last time Smile?

With our band we once had a show for about 175 people, so this is a whole new proportion. Although we did once play a show in a local bar but streamed the gig via twitter and then (at the peak) we had about 700 people watching. But they aren't in the room with you so it doesn't really count Pfft

Yeah, definitely want to put that stuff online, but just not sure yet which way to go. Youtube or soundcloud or myspace (Pfft) or facebook or...

Either way, it's nice to see the band grow, though. Playing small gigs to start, getting better ones and now for 300 or more, that's really great. And in two weeks we're playing live in a swimming pool. Yes, a swimming pool. With a swimming audience Grin

So you have been in my country, Kis'!

I have been in Tenerife twice, and I really enjoyed both trips (I went there with my parents). I hope you enjoyed my country! In which places have you been there in Tenerife? I guess Teide, Los Cristianos, La Gomera, Puerto de la Cruz, La Orotava...?

Anyway, this year I am going in a schooltrip as well and I will most likely go to Rome. Prague was the preferred option for most of the class (not me), but then a teacher came to class and told us the things to see both in Rome and Prague and now the ultramost of the class (me included) prefer Rome. What would I have preferred? Well, seeing that the main options were Rome, Prague, Tenerife and London...

I would have loved going to London to practise a bit more my English. But not a lot of people wanted to go there. Then, Tenerife... As I said, I have gone twice, so even with the lowest price between all the options, I didn't want to go there (also, I want to go out of Spain with my class, just a preference).

Then, between Rome and Prague, I already said... The monuments in one and another are very different both in quality and quantity...

So... ROAD TO ROME!

You're lucky, MARS Wink

This year I also was in a schooltrip, where we could decide to go to Berlin, London, Stockholm or inside my country. The half of the class voted on Berlin (but not me), but it was fine in my opinion.
Later the teachers admitted that they even didn't have money enough to stay in 1 day, so either the schooltrip would be cancelled or it must be inside Denmark. So in the final end it was either Bornholm or Copenhagen. Bornholm sounds interesting...

But in the final end it was Copenhagen. Great, but not if you had lived there in 7 years Rolling Eyes

Well, exams start on Monday. Study going as well as usual... Basically the whole of my year group in NZ has English and Maths in two days, not sure how they decided that one but it certainly doesn't make it much fun Rolling Eyes

But good you are not going to Czech Republic in the end, we have enough idiots here already...

This is not some sort of competiton, both places have its own history, beauty and atmosphere, specific to its area and past. I love Rome btw.
I'll be back
