@Shonak: Yes, expensive perhaps, but I don't think it's too excessive. Von Hoff's departure has allowed me to sign one or two more Africans which I can develop. Thanks -it's roro's idea. Here's another PCS pic
@FroomeDog: Very happy I could get him. I was looking to secure another leader - had my eye on Cataldo, but he turned out expensive. Kwiatek and Bennett will meet often in 2015 - Eritrea was at the top of my list. Thanks, whatever the case, it'll be better than last year!
@Ian: Thanks mate. This year climbing focus isn't the best idea if you want to promote, but I just love mountains.

Croket and Drobisch (almost) last riders to join.
Our squad is beginning to take shape as we've almost signed our last riders for this transfer season. Joining us is our cobbles leader and perhaps the only rider on our team who can remotely negotiate cobbles, Lars Croket. The big Belgium will lead our sprint front at stage races and has already said he's keen to make a trip to the USA for a certain tour.
Expanding our African development programme, we've signed a promising young Namibian time trialist, Till Drobisch. He spent last season with Jaguar - Eritel, but was not offered another contract for 2015. We're happy to pick him up and see to it that he gets the necessary opportunities to develop his talent.

Bennett, by the way: stage-win in Southland? I assume we're talking about a TTT then?
Croket a nice addition. Should be a few races suiting him.

@smowz: thanks! Look forward to how he does this season. He's actually perfectly in line for some good training soon.
@tsmoha: yes, technically not his, but PCS sees TTT as stage wins for individuals too.
@jt: He's more or less like a bonus signing. Will send him to stage races where most other sprinters are absent (hopefully). If he doesn't do well, then so what, if he does do well, that's a bonus.

With the imminent conclusion of the transfer season we would like to present our new squad for 2015! (Barring any interjection from the MGUCI). These transfers are regarded as highly succesful. We've contracted 2 outright leaders and built on the overall depth of the squad with the acquisition of riders like Nolan Hoffman, Reinhardt Janse van Rensburg, and George Bennett. So without further wait, we present...
/////////The 'Muricans
| Ryan Eastman | XP 4.100 | 450k | 23 years |
Fl | Mo | Hi | TT | St | Rs | Rc | Co | Sp | Ac | Fi | DH | Pr | 70 | 80 | 71 | 74 | 76 | 75 | 76 | 56 | 62 | 69 | 73 | 66 | 73 |
[img-l]https://i1252.photobucket.com/albums/hh579/aidanvn13/Project%20Africa%202015/Eastman_zpsu0d5n39e.png[/img-l]Ryan will be our outright leader when it comes to mountainous stage races. We have high hopes that the American can accomplish our preseason goals in Bulgaria, Austria, Corsica, and Canada. He'll face tough opposition this year, but we're confident the youngster will be able to pick up more than just best young rider jerseys.
| Peter Stetina | XP 4.100 | 90k | 28 years |
Fl | Mo | Hi | TT | St | Rs | Rc | Co | Sp | Ac | Fi | DH | Pr | 64 | 78 | 67 | 64 | 67 | 74 | 74 | 60 | 55 | 65 | 76 | 73 | 64 |
[img-l]https://i1252.photobucket.com/albums/hh579/aidanvn13/Project%20Africa%202015/Stetina_zpsrlkonvtn.png[/img-l]Stetina has also joined us from Heineken - Cal Giant. He's 100% pure, authentic, American mountain goat. He'll accompany Ryan at all his most important races to play the role of super domestique, but hopefully he'll have some chances to go KoM hunting when he feels fresh!
| Blake Caldwell | XP 4.100 | 50k | 31 years |
Fl | Mo | Hi | TT | St | Rs | Rc | Co | Sp | Ac | Fi | DH | Pr | 68 | 67 | 65 | 75 | 68 | 74 | 68 | 51 | 58 | 65 | 69 | 65 | 74 |
[img-l]https://i1252.photobucket.com/albums/hh579/aidanvn13/Project%20Africa%202015/Caldwell_zpscrzvbhio.png[/img-l]One of 3 Americans to join us from Heineken - Cal Giant, Caldwell has tagged along to bolster our TTT squad which is pivotal for our goal races.
///////// The Odd Ones Out
| George Bennett | XP 4.100 | 140k | 24 years |
Fl | Mo | Hi | TT | St | Rs | Rc | Co | Sp | Ac | Fi | DH | Pr | 67 | 78 | 76 | 65 | 75 | 74 | 79 | 58 | 65 | 73 | 55 | 63 | 65 |
[img-l]https://i1252.photobucket.com/albums/hh579/aidanvn13/Project%20Africa%202015/Bennett_zps7hmoqbrc.png[/img-l]George Bennett has come as a somewhat unplanned addition from Oz Cycling after we had some more cash to spend. We hope that his addition will add extra depth to our stage racing line up. He's strong on all climbing terrain and not just pure climbs, so hopefully that can distinguish him from more one dimensional riders.
| Lars Croket | XP 4.100 | 85k | 29 years |
Fl | Mo | Hi | TT | St | Rs | Rc | Co | Sp | Ac | Fi | DH | Pr | 74 | 56 | 65 | 67 | 74 | 65 | 81 | 70 | 79 | 71 | 74 | 59 | 67 |
[img-l]https://i1252.photobucket.com/albums/hh579/aidanvn13/Project%20Africa%202015/Croket_zpsnjfyfoew.png[/img-l]Croket might not be the fastest PCT sprinter around, but he's much more all-rounded than some with a good recovery ability. He'll be our designated stage race sprinter who will target races where sprinters will be scarce. One thing is for certain, he'll be our outright cobbles leader!
| Yves Ngock Ngue | XP 4.100 | 50k | 26 years |
Fl | Mo | Hi | TT | St | Rs | Rc | Co | Sp | Ac | Fi | DH | Pr | 70 | 69 | 74 | 63 | 72 | 69 | 71 | 64 | 67 | 68 | 70 | 69 | 63 |
[img-l]https://i1252.photobucket.com/albums/hh579/aidanvn13/Project%20Africa%202015/NgueNgock_zpsmeyqg6za.png[/img-l]Yves has been on the team since it's establishment in 2013. He's characterised by his attacking ability on hilly terrain and scored some excellent results in the CT rankings. Last year he took a very memorable victory in the Tour of Eritrea. In addition to breaks, he'll serve as a loyal lieutenant to Dan Craven in hilly terrain.
///////// The Namibians
| Dan Craven | XP 4.100 | 150k | 32 years |
Fl | Mo | Hi | TT | St | Rs | Rc | Co | Sp | Ac | Fi | DH | Pr | 72 | 70 | 78 | 75 | 79 | 74 | 71 | 53 | 67 | 71 | 74 | 65 | 75 |
[img-l]https://i1252.photobucket.com/albums/hh579/aidanvn13/Project%20Africa%202015/Craven_zps30u8dv3z.png[/img-l]Dan will be one of our key riders this season. His performance will have a large impact on our team's overall ranking. His hill and TT skill combo will undoubtedly put him in contention for strong GC results, particularly in the Tour of South Africa and Tour of Ukraine (where he won last year).
| Till Drobisch | XP 2.05 | 50k | 22 years |
Fl | Mo | Hi | TT | St | Rs | Rc | Co | Sp | Ac | Fi | DH | Pr | 67 | 60 | 63 | 70 | 67 | 68 | 65 | 52 | 60 | 67 | 70 | 60 | 70 |
[img-l]https://i1252.photobucket.com/albums/hh579/aidanvn13/Project%20Africa%202015/Drobisch_zpsvngm4zoj.png[/img-l]After no contract was offered by Eritel, we're happy to scoop up this TT talent from our neighbouring country. We hope that he'll be able to gain experience and return stronger next season.
| Costa Seibeb | XP 3.10 | 50k | 23 years |
Fl | Mo | Hi | TT | St | Rs | Rc | Co | Sp | Ac | Fi | DH | Pr | 70 | 70 | 71 | 65 | 68 | 67 | 67 | 59 | 61 | 69 | 75 | 58 | 65 |
[img-l]https://i1252.photobucket.com/albums/hh579/aidanvn13/Project%20Africa%202015/Seibeb_zpsbuopunmm.png[/img-l]Another young Namibian to show some promise is our little punchy climber Costa Seibeb. He impressed us with numerous breakaways last year, but his best result came when he won his national championships.
///////// The Rwandans
| Gasore Hategeka | XP 4.100 | 180k | 28 years |
Fl | Mo | Hi | TT | St | Rs | Rc | Co | Sp | Ac | Fi | DH | Pr | 68 | 72 | 77 | 66 | 74 | 69 | 68 | 56 | 62 | 66 | 70 | 66 | 65 |
[img-l]https://i1252.photobucket.com/albums/hh579/aidanvn13/Project%20Africa%202015/Hategeka_zpsjtxxek8d.png[/img-l]Gasore served us well last year in the hills with some solid performances - most notably 4th GC in the Vuelta a Mallorca. This year he'll act as a right-hand man for Dan Craven as well as receiving his own opportunities on occasion.
| Adrien Niyonshuti | XP 4.100 | 55k | 28 years |
Fl | Mo | Hi | TT | St | Rs | Rc | Co | Sp | Ac | Fi | DH | Pr | 68 | 75 | 73 | 63 | 73 | 72 | 70 | 56 | 66 | 67 | 68 | 61 | 63 |
[img-l]https://i1252.photobucket.com/albums/hh579/aidanvn13/Project%20Africa%202015/Niyonshuti_zpskfantdda.png[/img-l]Adrien has an inspirational story of surviving the Rwandan genocide where 6 of his brothers were killed. This shines through in his ability on the bike as a fighter and his most memorable moment must be his win at the Challenges Phosphatiers in 2013.
| Valens Ndayisenga | XP 3.04 | 50k | 21 years |
Fl | Mo | Hi | TT | St | Rs | Rc | Co | Sp | Ac | Fi | DH | Pr | 65 | 73 | 70 | 64 | 67 | 66 | 69 | 52 | 63 | 69 | 67 | 68 | 64 |
[img-l]https://i1252.photobucket.com/albums/hh579/aidanvn13/Project%20Africa%202015/Ndayisenga_zps1gjwihkj.png[/img-l]Valens is one of our most exciting talents. He's being nurtured by older figures, such as Adrien, but is learning quickly. He took a win at his national championships and we look forward to seeing what he can do this season.
| Jean Bosco Nsengimana | XP 1.00 | 50k | 23 years |
Fl | Mo | Hi | TT | St | Rs | Rc | Co | Sp | Ac | Fi | DH | Pr | 64 | 67 | 67 | 67 | 67 | 66 | 67 | 53 | 66 | 71 | 73 | 66 | 69 |
[img-l]https://i1252.photobucket.com/albums/hh579/aidanvn13/Project%20Africa%202015/Nsengimana_zpspt3co5ss.png[/img-l]Valens isn't the only Rwandan talent on our team. What sets him apart from Valens is his ability against the clock and not only on the Rwandan climbs. Some PCT racing and time in the wind tunnel and we'll see a huge development from him.
///////// The South Africans
| John-Lee Augustyn | XP 4.100 | 120k | 29 years |
Fl | Mo | Hi | TT | St | Rs | Rc | Co | Sp | Ac | Fi | DH | Pr | 76 | 77 | 75 | 71 | 74 | 72 | 72 | 60 | 60 | 68 | 75 | 61 | 71 |
[img-l]https://i1252.photobucket.com/albums/hh579/aidanvn13/Augustyn_zpshaedt5be.png[/img-l]John-Lee led the team last year and didn't quite live up to expectations. Nonetheless, he had some very good performances. This year he'll offer support for Eastman, but he'll head up his own campaign in the Tour of America where he's aiming for a podium spot.
| Nolan Hoffman | XP 4.100 | 175k | 30 years |
Fl | Mo | Hi | TT | St | Rs | Rc | Co | Sp | Ac | Fi | DH | Pr | 76 | 66 | 68 | 64 | 76 | 69 | 78 | 64 | 78 | 78 | 72 | 67 | 72 |
[img-l]https://i1252.photobucket.com/albums/hh579/aidanvn13/Hoffman_zpsu1nbjypy.png[/img-l] Win-less last year in a division flooded with sprinters, we hope that Nolan can return to his 2013 form with the change of teams. With the saturation of sprinters, Nolan will be targeting stage races for stage wins to avoid the masses.
| Reinhardt Janse van Rensburg | XP 4.100 | 110k | 26 years |
Fl | Mo | Hi | TT | St | Rs | Rc | Co | Sp | Ac | Fi | DH | Pr | 70 | 69 | 68 | 78 | 71 | 71 | 69 | 63 | 60 | 76 | 67 | 64 | 78 |
[img-l]https://i1252.photobucket.com/albums/hh579/aidanvn13/JanseVanRensburgReinhardt_zpsmywlyygl.png[/img-l] We're very happy to welcome Reinhardt to an African team. He'll come to chase some solid performance in TTs and will significantly boost our TTT squad in important goal races.
| Jacques Janse van Rensburg | XP 4.100 | 50k | 28 years |
Fl | Mo | Hi | TT | St | Rs | Rc | Co | Sp | Ac | Fi | DH | Pr | 72 | 75 | 73 | 70 | 73 | 75 | 73 | 52 | 61 | 65 | 73 | 65 | 70 |
[img-l]https://i1252.photobucket.com/albums/hh579/aidanvn13/JanseVanRensburgJacques_zps8i7dh4ie.png[/img-l] Contrary to popular belief, Reinhardt and Jacques aren't brothers and are unrelated actually! He's a very strong helper and should be very important in supporting our leaders. Don't be surprised if he manages to pull out a good top 10 performance in Tour of America!
| Johann Rabie | XP 4.100 | 50k | 28 years |
Fl | Mo | Hi | TT | St | Rs | Rc | Co | Sp | Ac | Fi | DH | Pr | 71 | 65 | 75 | 70 | 71 | 69 | 70 | 51 | 65 | 67 | 62 | 72 | 70 |
[img-l]https://i1252.photobucket.com/albums/hh579/aidanvn13/Rabie_zpsrk1umjck.png[/img-l] Johann returns from the Pro Tour with Jacques and will too be a strong addition. He'll play a strong domestique's role for Craven and will help out with TTT in various stage races.
| Tyler Day | XP 4.100 | 50k | 26 years |
Fl | Mo | Hi | TT | St | Rs | Rc | Co | Sp | Ac | Fi | DH | Pr | 72 | 60 | 65 | 62 | 73 | 68 | 74 | 60 | 76 | 77 | 62 | 59 | 66 |
[img-l]https://i1252.photobucket.com/albums/hh579/aidanvn13/Day_zpswvkrf4ik.png[/img-l] Tyler has joined us since our first season. He's had some good performances in small races over the years, but he's very valuable as a lead-out. He'll continue this role for the 2015 season accompanying Lars Croket and Nolan Hoffman at many classics and stage races.
| Dylan Girldestone | XP 4.100 | 50k | 26 years |
Fl | Mo | Hi | TT | St | Rs | Rc | Co | Sp | Ac | Fi | DH | Pr | 65 | 74 | 70 | 64 | 68 | 70 | 72 | 50 | 65 | 74 | 73 | 68 | 64 |
[img-l]https://i1252.photobucket.com/albums/hh579/aidanvn13/Girdlestone_zpszjls4dna.png[/img-l] Dylan once again plays a role of domestique in the mountains. He'll probably have his own chances for breakaways if he feels fit though!
| Willie Smit | XP 3.02 | 50k | 23 years |
Fl | Mo | Hi | TT | St | Rs | Rc | Co | Sp | Ac | Fi | DH | Pr | 70 | 67 | 70 | 68 | 71 | 70 | 69 | 54 | 66 | 70 | 78 | 66 | 69 |
[img-l]https://i1252.photobucket.com/albums/hh579/aidanvn13/Smit_zpsanhchxrt.png[/img-l] Willie will try to build on experience he gained last year to further develop as a strong rider. He got into numerous breaks last year and will look to continue his aggressive style this year.

He'll be our designated stage race sprinter who will target races where sprinters will be scarce.
Demare says hello!
I'll love to race against my promotion man Croket again, and feel free to put him right below Demare in the results lists.

Bennett waves in the background.
Looks like a well improved team from last year, Eastman reminds me quite alot of Marquez without the ACC. I feel we'll be seeing quite a lot of each other this season.

Dippofix: Very similar to Marquez, but his low ACC does trouble me a bit. I still expect a lot from him though. I'm sure we'll meet more than often.
Hoyle: Thanks! Yea, that was at the finish of the Commonwealth games. Quite a tough race in rainy, cold conditions.
Season Previews: What they think... With the start of racing upon us, it's time for the predictions for the season! It goes without saying that things look far better for us this year, so we're quite excited to see what the others are expecting from us.
Preview | | Team Log | Ranking | ... | | Evonik - ELKO | 13th | FroomeDog's PCT Preview | | Project: Africa | 14th | ... | | Bank of Ireland | 15th | _______________ | _ | __________ | __ | ... | | Eritel - Sontrach | 6th | Roturn's PCT Preview | | Project: Africa | 7th | ... | | Gazelle | 8th | _______________ | _ | __________ | __ | ... | | Bank of Ireland | 13th | SN's Mathematical Preview | | Project: Africa | 14th | ... | | Karcher - Adira | 15th |
We aren't quite as optimistic as roturn, but we do believe we could be in for a surprise top 10 if our leaders have above average seasons. However, we have a season goal of a top 15 and we seem set for that.

Double Success at African Continental Championships! The first racing of the season has started with the Bay Classics, but soon after the Continental Champs have followed. Congrats to Reinhardt Janse van Rensburg and Dan Craven!
The African Champion's jersey van Rensburg and Craven will wear.
Reinhardt on his way to the best time on the course.
Craven stamped his authority with a massive winning margin.

Did somebody say America? The Tour of America is one of our most anticipated races of the season and it is our win goal! It will surprise you that Ryan Eastman will not be returning for the 2015 addition! After losing last year's race due to a crash where controversially Repsol - Cativen increased the pace in the bunch to ride away from Eastman by more than 8 minutes! Instead, Augustyn will line up as our leader and is aiming high for a podium finish. The 2015 route is one of the most exciting in recent years thanks to route designer tsmoha's input.

Cool little preview for ToA Augustyn as an interesting choice, though I had minor "hopes" you would bring Bennett here. Overall win will be tough to achieve with a 77 climber, but he should be in the mix for a good result nevertheless. Croket i would expect to be amongst the fastest sprinters there.

Mid-Season Review Hey all - I've been absent for some time, but it's mostly down to real-life commitments. I'm back though!

We've been unlucky in numerous cases where strange tactics have really cost us good results - no doubt we'll be reviewing the contracts of some of our team's DS's! Despite that, this season has been somewhat of a success and we hope to build on a solid first half (and a bit). We look forward to upcoming races, such as the Tour of America where we hope John-Lee can get us a solid GC result.
Eastman has been solid for most of our races and racked up some good points. Craven has underwhelmed in certain races, but has put in some decent results too. George Bennett punched above his weight with a great 3rd in Japan and made us very relieved that his last-minute acquisition was worth it. And of course, the fan-favourite Hoffman secured a beautiful win at the Interlagos GP in Brazil.
If we manage to stack up some stand-out performances in coming races, we may be able to slip into the top 10 of the rankings. That being said, we're not too worried as long as we achieve our goal of a top 15. We really have turned things around from last season, so we hope our sponsors are impressed and give us our deserved budget increase!

///////// Race Recap - Week 1 The much anticipated CT Grand Tour kicked off last week. It promises to be a spectacular race this year, largely due to tsmoha's (race director and course designer) new input. The first week can be branded as a success for the team's GC hopes, although we are still chasing that stage win we want! Let's have a look...
///////// Stage 1
We were a bit disappointed not to see Reinhardt make the podium at least, but we hope that he finds his legs by the 3rd week's TT.
1 | Michael Schär | Team Vontobel | 7'54 | 2 | Chris Barton | Team Type 1 | + 1 | 3 | Domingos Gonçalves | Prio - Porto | + 2 | ... | 6 | Reinhardt Jv Rensburg | Project: Africa | + 7 |

///////// Stage 2
1 | Raúl Granjel Cabrera | Mobil - Aeropostal Ciclismo | 4h32'12 | 2 | Jaime Alberto Castañeda | Bonsucro | s.t. | 3 | Juan Van Heerden | Eritel - Sonatrach | s.t. | ... | 13 | Lars Croket | Project: Africa | s.t. |

///////// Stage 3
Much better work from Croket this time around. Although we feel that due to his excellent recovery ability (81 Rec!), he may progress to do better as the tour goes on.
1 | Raúl Granjel Cabrera | Mobil - Aeropostal Ciclismo | 4h08'51 | 2 | Tyler Farrar | Azteca-NBCSN | s.t. | 3 | Armindo Fonseca | Team Vontobel | s.t. | ... | 7 | Lars Croket | Project: Africa | s.t. |
______________________________________________
///////// Stage 4
Croket netted another top 10. He could do better, but he could also do worse. We are waiting patiently for that day when his legs just feel a lot better than usual and he brings out a surprise.
1 | Juan Van Heerden | Eritel - Sonatrach | 3h28'06 | 2 | Jaime Alberto Castañeda | Bonsucro | s.t. | 3 | Maciej Ulanowski | Children of Chernobyl | s.t. | ... | 9 | Lars Croket | Project: Africa | s.t. |

///////// Stage 5
This hilly stage is the first real test for the GC men. Augustyn pulled out a great performance to move him to 3rd on GC after the stage. We were thrilled to see him race with genuine impotence (something that seemed lacking previously).
Stage Result
1 | Edoardo Zardini | Sauber Petronas Racing | 3h44'02 | 2 | Winner Anacona | DeLaval - Kiitokori | + 59 | 3 | Natnael Berhane | Eritel - Sonatrach | s.t. | 4 | John-Lee Augustyn | Project: Africa | + 1'24 |
General Classification
1 | Natnael Berhane | Eritel - Sonatrach | 16h02'24 | 2 | Winner Anacona | DeLaval - Kiitokori | + 7 | 3 | John-Lee Augustyn | Project: Africa | + 21 |

///////// Stage 6
We had thought we could gain time on some rivals in this TTT, and it turned out that we conceded (a bit) to some. We put in a sub-par performance to what we thought, but then again, we didn't lose too much either.
Stage Result
1 | Prio - Porto | 51'19 | 2 | Team Type 1 | + 11 | 3 | Bonsucro | + 19 | ... | 8 | Project: Africa | + 54 |
General Classification
1 | Natnael Berhane | Eritel - Sonatrach | 16h54'26 | 2 | Mykhaylo Kononenko | Children of Chernobyl | + 24 | 3 | Winner Anacona | DeLaval - Kiitokori | + 28 | 4 | John-Lee Augustyn | Project: Africa | + 32 |

///////// Stage 7
The first mountain stage revealed who would be the men to watch for the top positions. Fortunately, Augustyn was amongst them! He and Stetina exhibit great team work and managed to reach the top together - bumping J-L back into a podium spot!
Stage Result
1 | Natnael Berhane | Eritel - Sonatrach | 4h03'56 | 2 | Winner Anacona | DeLaval - Kiitokori | s.t. | 3 | Hossein Alizadeh | Sauber Petronas Racing | s.t. | ... | 7 | John-Lee Augustyn | Project: Africa | +49 | 8 | Peter Stetina | Project: Africa | s.t. |
General Classification
1 | Natnael Berhane | Eritel - Sonatrach | 20h58'02 | 2 | Winner Anacona | DeLaval - Kiitokori | + 36 | 3 | John-Lee Augustyn | Project: Africa | + 1'41 |

Good start in America for you, almost a top 10 everyday and Augustyn on the podium looks like a strong foundation for a good points scoring race. It's a shame that your win goal currently looks out of reach though, as Berhane looks very strong.
Good to see you back around the MG anyway. I'm sure we'll come into contact as always when transfers begin. |

Thanks. Some consistent performances, but we really need a win or two to gain some points. Never thought Augustyn would win as I had originally thought about sending Eastman. So far, so good though. If J-L can hang tight in 3rd that would be great.
Sure we'll meet numerous times during transfers. As always
