Thaouta in the break on Stage 4 was good, but the high mountains on Stage 5 ultimately rule out any challenge from him I think.
On a team level, shame to see Kudus missing the move on the last stage, and now sits a long way down the GC

Robov off the front, good stuff hope to him doing that a few more times. Lutsenko going great in our colors, if only we had him for the rest of the season
Crushing stage for the GC. Really seperated the men from the boys!

Would you look at that! Off the front and 3rd on the Stage. He got a 2nd place last year so almost equal, not a bad effort. First time the break makes it and he's there, nice stuff.
And Lutsenko is enjoying that new jersey of his, perhaps he'd like it more often lol

Nice win in my colours. Well done Matte. jt should be very happy.
Olivier with the best GC riders and gapping Shikai, which could be a great fight for the last podium spot. |

Watson once again good up there. Seems like he is to a certain point to use for Morton, who is looking great at the moment.

Unattentive racing from Shikai, otherwise he would still be on the podium. A shame he couldn't hold the gap to Lecusinier on stage 5.

Good GC work for Lutsenko given the competition. See how that holds up.

again Kung isn't active and stays in the peloton, I'd have thought he'd at least have tried to follow the moves, unless he's not told me he's tactically losing time to be allowed a breakaway win later on.

And of course the obligatory breakaway win
On a more serious point: I'm pretty delighted to see that the fight for the top GC places is so close.

Definitely good stuff from Watson/Haig here. Yap, the breakaway took it easily, but I don't care
Nice to see the team "all over it" and especially Haig seemed to work pretty well for Morton here. Moving up in the GC is a nice thing, even though he may suffer from his efforts soon.

Another great stage for Herklotz to actually put him into Top 5 contention if he can use the stage 8 descent to his advantage again.
The top priority is still Lecuisinier though so all energy needs to go into trying to get him an advantage over Morton.
Tomorrow's stage actually looks great for Silvio again if he manages to be in the front third or so of the peloton towards the end.

I think La Lavandier really had to have a go today if he wanted to sneak into the top 15 at the end of this race. Now he will really have to outdo a lot of these guys in the mountains.

Looked perfect, but what a poor performance in the end by Le Gac. He must have had a really bad day unfortunately.
Lecuisinier did well though, with also Herklotz being strong. It is Nice to see that there is also room for him to do well :-)

Good to see the duel between Morton and Lecuisinier, both the fight for first and third looks wide open before the final three stages, given nothing happens on stage 7.
Galta isn't really attentive, it seems, probably have to hope he has saved a lot of energy with his conservative riding, and maybe he will try something on the final two mountain stages.
Thanks for the report, SN! |

Cool reports, just caught up with stages 4-7. I am not happy with the way Grosu represents us here, if he wont have Avenir stage under his belt during his career, it is real fail with his stats and it seems more likely every day. Stage 7 should be his best chance ever, so please no breakaway win. Rest of flat stages is too easy this year and thus is better for Zabel, while our lead out sucks a bit, loosing a ground in stage 4 and leaving Grosu boxed in.
At least Dzhus is making us happy, holding on 12th of GC which is pretty solid for him. As long as he holds in top15, i call it a success.
Congrats to all the stage winners, the GC fight looks dramatic, but Morton should be able to hold that.

Sorry for few replies from me now, been away on a job trip this weekend.
Anyway, another stage win from Zabel I like this year much better than last! One flat stage to go now, hopefully the mountain stage has not killed my riders legs. Seems like that got a nice, lazy day on the last stage atleast.
Unfortunately it seems like a climber/GC-rider will take the green jersey :/ Nothing to do about that. I'm happy with 2 stage wins (maybe 3?)
Also nice to see my team attacking in the mountains, only way we can do anything here is by joining the break.

Dissapointed stuff from Carapaz in the hilly stage. Basically losing all hope of top ten now. Battle for GC victory is still tense though! Looking forward to that battle atleast now
