Why is this race not among the monuments. It has a older history than Tour of Flanders.
Just a little curious, if anyone knows 
EDIT: And as far as i remember it used to be something the big guns had as a season goal.

I didn't watch bar live word updates which made it seem like an attack that was lucky enough not be followed by others at right time.
If Van der Sande was strongest rider today then RIP the whole race...PCT rider at best.
