Or you can also post it here, so everyone that might be confused can read it. Grin

Hey,

The first thing to do it to read over the start of the 2015 thread, as it gives a lot of information on how it all happens, it's here: https://pcmdaily.com/forum/viewthread....ost_989333

The actual transfer season is relatively simple as long as you take the time to read the explanation of what to do thoroughly, it has three main parts, which are steals, renewals and transfers. The steals are allready posted and usually have little effect (although I did get the main rider in my promotion from them) and renewals don't apply to you.

The transfer system isn't too complicated and the free agent sheet is explained here: https://pcmdaily.com/forum/viewthread....ost_996145 you will just have to write how much money you want to pay for a rider and the team who his the most gets him, unless another team bids within 80% of that amount. (In which case it'll go to PMing bikex a bid)

Working out the value of what to pay for a rider and what sort of riders you should buy is somewhat hard, you can work out what riders are suitable as leaders in the CT by checking the current database and seeing the riders who are best in each stat in the CT division and aiming for a couple of riders of similar ability (even if you only end up bidding on one or two leaders, although I had one top leader and 3 other riders who weren't bad at result in CT on their terrain). Once you have decided on who to bid on (making them from a focus nation if you can is nice and a good way to choose even if it's not nessecary) you can think about domestiques or other riders, try to pick them from focus nations if you want and just select generally good riders, I usually say only above 70 in their preferred stat, a super-domestique of as close ability as possibly to your leader is good too. You can also bid on other leaders for other terrains, even if there not as good as your top leader and a couple support riders for them, if you want. Just as long as you don't aim too high/low, keep within your budget and don't rely on signing a single rider, not too much can go wrong, (also remember to sign 8 riders for your Dev team)

For how much to spend on riders, I divided my budget by how many riders I needed to sign (16 or 24 with a Dev team) and work out the general amount I could spend on each rider, although it was more for leader and less for domestiques, for how much you should pay for a leader see what kind of wage similar riders to the riders you want to sign in the db were paid last season, I generally say a couple 200-400) hundred over the minimum wage. For your weaker domestiques though, you can go a lot closer to the minimum wage.

The transfers between teams is pretty simple, you just PM other managers to negotiate riders, just remember that fees paid for riders comes out of your budget as well as the riders wage.

I hope this helps, if you have any questions, etc. feel tree to ask. Wink It seems pretty complicated at first but when it's done step-by-step it's easy enough. Smile

Thanks, trekbmc

P.S Also (don't worry about this now) a tip I learnt the hard way from later in season planning is don't sign up for too many WT races as A CT team Wink

Okay, so that went well. The moral of this particular story is don't click post that late at night. I'd had a long day, my Nan is in a terrible state in hospital, I was tired, I had a bad headache and it was the last thing I did before going to bed. My bad.

Anyway, I overreacted but do still think established WT teams shouldn't be allowed to steal. I absolutely get what trekbmc is saying. CT teams and newly promoted teams should be able to. Teams that already have WT-level squads shouldn't.

I have respect for you all. Except the OP German dude. Pfft

You wanted to talk with me? Grin

My opinion to the whole steal thing : It's a good possibility for teams with a special focus to get a top rider from your focus region although for a high price. As long as it is used after its purpose it's a good feature.

Personally, I will not use steals this year and likely not in the future as well but I can understand everyone who does. Although I would prefer if the new teams would not do it (much).

Sorry, I was asleep, anyway, bwiggins has posted it now. Smile

Also, just to note, some of it comes from my own experience on these things. Wink

Two points from me (second point being much more important for now!):

1) The way points are awarded for focus races at the moment doesn't work too well for me. We need a big discussion on that, I feel. At the moment it just gives a huge advantage to those who have one of the very top GC riders. I think people should know how points get dished out for this.

2) Could you please post a factsheet on the general rules for the teams, such as:

- Team size (min and max)
- CT2 eligibility
- Dev team eligibility
- etc.

Should really help the new guys and refresh people's memories, as this isn't easy to find as is and should already be available given steals are underway. Wink

Sorry to hear that, mate. Hopefully I didn't come across as being too harsh and I respect that other people have a different view on this. Smile

Also, is it just me or is the excel-file not working correctly. Only 2 steals show up in the PM tab

It worked fine for me, have you made sure that all riders you want to bid on are visible in in the DB tab? That might make a difference, not certain how it works.

Selwink
I also seem to have trouble with the file, none of my offers show up in the PM tab.

Either way, the PM is quite simple:

Team ID - Rider ID - Steal offer
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

SSJ2Luigi
Some riders don't have a code generating the rider ID (iirc) in hidden rows in the db tab. ( from my head Alaphille, Endi Sirol are examples iirc) and the PM tab needs to find Team ID, Rider ID and steal price for it to show. If one is missing it doesn't appear.

Not sure if it's intentional or not, didn't look for a pattern in the file.

Bikex
Yes I made a mistake there. I used the file from last season, when far less riders were in it.

Download this one to have it fixed: https://www.mediafire.com/download/5wo...teals.xlsx
In there is also the actual budget. New teams that have a region focus of the ones written in the signup thread will get 100, also teams that were a part of the game last season and are now CT got one.

OZrocker
Yep, from the first file it looks like anyone with a rider ID of 5327 or higher isn't added to the PM screen.

1) No problem start a discussion on it. I'm open to new suggestions. Wink
2) Minimum: 23 for WT teams 16 for CT teams, maximum:30,
Like last season the cutoff will be 76.
Riders with an average of 72 or below and an age up to 23 will be available for dev teams.

Or does someone think something of that didn't work out well then that can also be changed. Wink

On the GT in CT: Allthough I'm a big fan of tsmoha's stages, I don't really like the idea of a CT GT. Already with the Vuelta a Colombia the we have a pretty long race and there not many teams showed up.
If someone would make a shorter version of one of tsmoha's GTs I could add that to the calendar, but 21 race days is definitely to long.

Just stumbled upon this paragraph again. I think even Vuelta a Colombia is too long with 15 stages. Not only low participation, but also only half of the riders finished it and it would save time reporting it. Maybe 10 would be more reasonable and it still would be the longest CT stage race.

I don't think this year's Vuelta a Colombia was too long, imo it was just way too hard for a CT stage race. The year before there was better racing, as the race wasn't as hard. Still I think cutting the race down to 10/11 stages wouldn't hurt it. Maybe adding two more races of the same length would be a good idea, so there are also 3 CT GTs with 10/11 stages each?

On something different: I'm thinking about introducing different rankings, so more teams/riders have a chance to win one.
The first idea would be to add continental rankings like America Tour, Europe Tour, .... A focus on a specific region would then pay off.
The other idea would be to add speciality based rankings, so there'll be a ranking for sprinters including the sprinters races like Vattenfall or QSC and maybe the points jersey competitions from the big tours, a cobblers ranking including all the major cobbled classics. That way basically every (WT) team has a ranking they can go for and also it would keep specialists in races that are good for them and keep them away from CT races where they'd destroy the competition..
Interested what you'd think about that. Smile

Not a big fan of those extra rankings when they are not there for a purpose. One chance to include them would be to use them as an additional sponsor target like the goal races.

Against using a new ranking system, the game is far too little for that and it'd split it too much. It's also not really necessary. If there were ManGame size, maaybe, but also not really. Cobblers will always have less races than guys who do stage races or can climb mountain and hills well thus earn less points. The general points system is good enough imo.

@The Rider: What do you mean? Of course a GT awards more money than a basic stage race or random classic. The difference is pretty small by the way anyway, couple of hundred bucks, that's like one potion of youth or an average rider.
