Tour of the Battenkill
The HC rated 204 km long Tour of the Battenkill should suit the specialists across the cobbles and also those who are fast up hill. The route has a total of ten cobble sections the longest and hardest section being just ten kilometers away from the finish in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
Favourites
Name | Cob | Hil | Name | Cob | Hil | Summerhill | 82 | 73 | Albert | 78 | 69 | Vanspeybrouck | 82 | 71 | Nuyens | 77 | 70 | Baugnies | 80 | 72 | Breschel | 77 | 70 | Boonen | 79 | 67 | Verbist | 77 | 64 | Machado | 79 | 63 | Trentin | 77 | 74 | Thomas | 79 | 60 | Steurs | 77 | 68 | Maes | 79 | 67 | Daniel | 77 | 68 | Vanmarcke | 79 | 66 | Ferreira | 77 | 68 | Vandenbergh | 78 | 67 | Drucker | 77 | 65 | Veelers | 78 | 64 | Stallaert | 77 | 67 |
The biggest favourites for the race are Summerhill, the man who has come second behind Summerhill on more than one occasion this season Vanspeybrouck, and 2013 edition winner Baugnies. All three are strong on the pave and all three can fly up a hill. Or maybe an outsider like defending champion and also Amex PC rider Matti Breschel could pull of the win.

We haven't been successful on the cobbles this year, so don't expect much here either.
Hope Pozzato can do well due to the hills.

LLS for the win.
No expectations for us, our cobblers were way too inconsistent to set any reasonable goal.

Any point scored will be a good one. If it's from the early break, a surprising mid-race attack by Taramarcaz or Gatto playing out his nice cobble-hill-skills for the first time doesn't matter.
As the cobbles seem to be very tough this season it'll be Summerhill or Vanseybrouk pretty much uncontested I guess.

With only three races in our schedule this month we have to do well in each one to stay in contact with the other top teams.
LLS started brilliantly with his victory earlier this month.
Boonen now has to follow up. And while I don't expect him to win the usual 5th place would be a strong result. The hills don't exactly help but still he should do well here.
He's with all the support I can offer him so it's up to him to get the ranking points.
A Big Thank You To All MG Reporters!

Summerhill will be very difficult to beat on home soil, but AMEX-Navigon is going to give it our best shot. We want to win this race for our sponsors, but a podium and 4 riders in the points would be almost as good.

Here as part of our HC band, but cobbles definitely aren't our strong point. Marcato scraping a point would be a major success here. |

6th is about okay for Vanmarcke. Had hoped for top5 but it was close.
Losing points against Gazelle, Bpost and Evonik is not ideal obviously. Another reason, why I had hoped for some more points by Nooytens.
Thanks for the report. |

Summerhill... Just one of those refusing to have a really bad day!

Marcato in 16th is a solid result, at least gives us a few unexpected points. Thanks for the report jihardy, and congrats Kentaurus. |

Riders finished - 191.
Riders started - 191 or 192.
The worst rider of the MG season didn't even get a mention and was the only rider not to finish if he did in fact start. Did he even start? Anyone know? Meh, I don't even care.

Summer at it again, crazy to think after last season that a cobbler would best the stage racers in the individual rankings but there we go! Way too many cobbles this season it seems! |

no mention of the team the entire race but Eisel gets 10th, a very nice result for the team, still, its nothing compared to what we really need but its a start

Gatto within his means, what is awesome as he hasn't been the whole season.
Gratz to the cobbles dominator and thanks for reporting jihardy!

Summerhill has just been dominant this year, and showing no signs of letting up. Fantastic race for us again, and the team really did show up controlling the peloton and the breakaway early.
Danny has rode essentially all the cobbled races to perfection this year, unfortunately think we are down to only one cobbled race left on the calendar after this. So Danny's ability to get points is probably starting to come to an end.

11th is a great result for us, again we just missed out on a top 10 in a cobbled race but I can't complain as it's still a good result for us.
