Mick Rogers got an olympic medal for his 4th place in the 2004 timetrial. I heard it took this long cause they couldn't find one that fit around his chin.

WTF!
Love how he has gained WC TT titles and now and Olympic medal because other riders have been caught or admitted doping that beat him yet he himself is a career doper. I can't wait for the day when Rogers disappears up his own arsehole never to be seen or heard from again
Edit: Dislike my post if you want Jihardy but at least explain why, what did I write that's incorrect?

Europcar continuing!
Especially for Cousin, that vuelta stage were he crashed...
Too bad Rolland left now though. Is voeckler and Coquard still there at the moment?
Chavanel is one of my favourite riders, happy to see him go to Europcar, although I like IAM to, would be good if this sees him attacking more than this season though, I'm half praying this is a 1 year contract (to see Chavanel attacking) and half praying it's a long contract (for Europcar).

And our recent discussion about how many czech cyclists will be on the start of Elite WC road race has an answer finally. There are six riders nominated and three replacements, so i suppose we dont have 9 spots.
Jan Bárta, Petr Vakoč, Zdeněk Štybar, Roman Kreuziger, Jiří Polnický, Karel Hník.
Reserves: Leopold König, Jan Hirt, Alois Kaňkovský.
TT:Jan Bárta, Petr Vakoč.

I know Coquard was holding out for a sponsor so I assume he's staying.

USA have announced their WC teams today. Kristin Armstrong comes to the ITT event at 42 years old, one of the oldest ever starters at a WC event, and as a previous winner plus a decent season she's an outsider to really watch. Also Tayler Wiles makes the road team headed by Guarnier, Stevens and Olds.
Plus they have some mens teams, but really who cares?

Not really news but it's a Worlds team announcement (sort of) so i can chuck it here. One of my favorite riders has just been given one hell of an end to one hell of a year:
She couldn't get a team for most of the year, running off crowd funding and guest spots and anything she could get given. Took a massive crash that left a crator in her elbow for months (seriously it was gross). Eventually found a spot at BMW-Happy Tooth and after an incredible roller-coaster she is going to the worlds. It may only be the TTT and the team is gonna be awful but she absolutely deserves this more than almost any rider going to any event at the worlds.
Plus her book and film ain't half bad either

Big news for Orica GreenEdge.
Esteban Chavez signs a new contract with them until 2018!
With the actual Vuelta performance I expect a bigger paycheck for him as well but he gives them a good GT option and with 25 years only he still can improve.
The team itself is really nice next year I think. Lots of "I am sprinter...ähh, puncheur...ähh, classic rider" in the team but also pretty well for every other terrain. |

Looks like Belgium has too many leaders of the WC road race in Boonen, Gilbert, GVA and Vanmarcke, I'll be interested to see how they play this when the race arrives. |

We even left Roelandts home
Normally it'll be Vanmarcke and Van Avermeat trying to get in a break in the last laps, Gilbert doing his thing on the last hill and keep Boonen for when it comes to a sprint.
Also good to see Benoot gets his chance already!

Are you Belgian then?
They're good tactics getting riders like Vanmarcke and GVA out in late breaks and keeping Gilbert and Boonen until the finals |
