“As per the World Anti-Doping Code and the UCI ADR, the UCI has established a Storage and Reanalysis Strategy. The strategy, implemented by the Cycling Anti-Doping Foundation (CADF), provides that samples from the leaders of the Grand Tours, UCI World Championships and general rankings of all cycling disciplines will be stored for potential retesting.
“Other samples, based on risk assessment carried out by the CADF, laboratory recommendations, Athlete Biological Passport data, new detection methods and scientific developments, will also be retained for retesting. The standard time of storage and further reanalysis under this strategy is up to 10 years.”
Given that Caruso had a largely anonymous season in 2012, the decision to retest his past samples suggest that concerns may have cropped up around biological passport issues, prompting the UCI to look deeper.

I think this may be the first time the Czech Republic got all nine riders. Although I'm really proud of being in the Top10, at least half of the team will probably be quiet weak Continental riders.

Czech Republic has 9 riders most likely due to Stybar, as it is a cobbled race. So why does Switzerland only get 3 when they have Cancellara. Also I would think that USA would get all 9 considering they host it.

Of course it is based on rankings, not on terrain.
Here are the criterias:

The following nations will qualify for the UCI 2015 Road World Championships, Men Elite Road
race:
1. The 10 first nations in UCI WorldTour classification by nation on 15 August 2015: each
nation may enter 14 riders, with 9 to start.
However, a nation with fewer than 9 riders classified in the individual UCI WorldTour
ranking on 15 August 2015 shall start with the number of riders that are classified.
A nation with 6 or less riders classified in the individual UCI WorldTour ranking can
never the less start 6 riders.
The nations that have fewer than 9 riders classified in the individual UCI WorldTour
can complete their remaining athlete quota, by adding the places it would have re
ceived through their respective continental circuit – the UCI Africa Tour, UCI America

ver, exceed the athlete quota of 14 riders with 9 to start obtained in the UCI WorldTour
classification by nation.*

qualifying under this rule may enter 9 riders, with 6 to start (rank 1); the 2nd and 3rd

3. The 5 first nations of the classification by nation of the UCI America Tour on 15 August
2015 excluding the nations qualifying via the UCI WorldTour classification: the 1st and
2nd nations qualifying can enter 9 riders, with 6 to start (rank 1); the 3rd, 4th and 5th
nations can enter 5 riders, with 3 to start (rank 2).
4. The first 4 nations of the classification by nation of the UCI Asia Tour on 15 August 2015
excluding the nations qualifying via the UCI WorldTour classification: the 1st nation
qualifying under this rule may enter 9 riders, with 6 to start (rank 1); the 2nd, 3rd and 4th
nations qualifying can enter 5 riders, with 3 to start (rank 2).
5. The first 14 nations of the classification by nation of the UCI Europe Tour on 15 August
2015 excluding the nations qualifying via the UCI WorldTour classification: the first 6
nations qualifying can enter 9 riders, with 6 to start (rank 1); the nations ranked 7th to
14th can enter 5 riders, with 3 to start (rank 2).

• The European nations with a rider among the first 200 of the individual classification
of the UCI Europe Tour on 15 August 2015: each nation may enter 2 riders, with 1 to

• The Oceania nations with a rider among the first 5 of the individual classification of
the UCI Oceania Tour on 15 August 2015: each nation may enter 2 riders, with 1 to

* The places of the nations which have been qualified by the UCI WorldTour classification
but are not allocated in regards of the particular dispositions will be reallocated to the
nations from the 11th rank of the UCI WorldTour classification, with one supplementary
place allocated by nation.
If the outgoing Men Elite World Road race Champion or the outgoing Olympic Road race
Champion comes from a nation which has not yet qualified, he may take part in the first
World Championship after he wins his title. He may not be replaced by another rider.
If the nation responsible for organising the World Championship is qualified in the second
rank of nations via the classification by nation for its continent, it may enter 9 riders with
6 to start.
Btw, does not that mean, that Czech republic will only enter with 6 riders, because of not having 9 rider in UCI world Tour classification and also not in Europe Tour?
Styby World Champion would be nice, but I don't think that the cobbles are that hard to be selective....also if Tony goes on Rampage and wins the WC RR and the ITT I want him on 77 HI and 79 COB, since those cobbles are so difficult
It makes sense though. Stolting wanted to become a PCT team IIRC, so merging with Cult is a good way of making that step, and getting some very decent riders too.
Meanwhile i have read on web of czech cycling fderation that we are really going to have six riders at WC road race. Dont know about your source Inferio, but it seems wrong, because of not enough riders in WT classification, or either Europe Tour classification.

I believe this is the case with Czech republic and thus we can only place 6 riders. Also it would be strange if czech cycling federation would have been speaking about having 6 spots, they should know best i hope.
We have lot of points, but coming from low amount of classified riders in World Rankings...
