Tour of Scotland
pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2015/profiles/c2hc/sco.png

A brand new race on the schedule, as we're heading for Scotland! This 6-days-event will surely be one of the most fascinating C2HC events this year.

Sprinters, puncheurs and climbers (in short: allrounders) probably will all get a chance to go for valuable points. Those four flat stages - of which one features a short uphill finish up 'Drumlanrig Castle' - of course did attract some of the division's best sprinters to take part here.

A challenging hilly stage finishing on 'Nic o Balloch' and the concluding queen stage with a summit finish on 'Bealach Na Ba' will be the key days for GC-contenders. It will be interesting to see, whether those hills or this mountain will decide over the first winner of this stage race.

The Startlist

Of course it's the allrounders, who will fancy their chances the best: Ochoa Quintero, Sorensen/Samoilev, Soler, Novak, Bagot, Feillu or better puncheurs like Gaimon and Molard/Finetto can be right up there in both key stages. Those outstanding climbers like Ochoa probably as the very top-favorites anyway.

Let's not forget to mention guys like Kulhavy, Martinez or Hirt, who already did prove their strength in stage races.

Pure puncheurs like Passalacqua, Ilias, Kinney or Favilli will need to get rid off some way better climbers in this hilly stage - otherwise, they won't get far on the very final climb here.

As already said, a packed list of sprinters had to be expected here: GP Zimnyanya-winner Serebriakov, Forero and Lavoine as the top favorites for those less challenging flat stages. Also Corioni, Vanderaerden or Pelucchi can do something.

The last two flat stages look quite challenging and so punchy sprinters like Sonnery and Favilli/Bole should be real threats as well. Especially the latter two could be well in the mix for the GC at this point!

After that horrible Frankfurt, we really need a big result here!
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Roextro
Don't expect anything out of this race, only thing that could possibly happen is a BW victory or a KOM victory

Shonak
Except for the last stage, this race is really well-made for Favilli. He should do fine grabbing some points. Maybe even a podium or two along the way.

Looking forward to the great reports tsmoha!

Serebriakov seems to be in excellent shape, which he can hopefully keep up. Winning one of the first two stages seems very realistic. After that it'll be hard to perform. The stages are a bit too 'easy' for Sinelobov I'm afraid, so I think we'll have to rely on attacks to do well in the GC. Maybe a stunt in stage 4-5 by Serebriakov is possible though.

We have send a worthy squad of Feillu and Berard going for the GC, while Lavoine, Zielinski and Matysiak are here to collect stage wins. Lavoine has done great in C2HC races so far and expect him to do so here Smile

If I were to make a guess, I think I will put my money on Soler. A fully grown Poljanski would've loved this race, however I think this might be the sole version of this race in MG history.

Passalacqua top puncher, very nice. Not expecting much from him but rather doing that from Molard's and maybe Finetto's side.

Thinking this might go to a puncher with a 70+ mo stat rather than to a pure climber to be honest, think the hardest stage is not hard enough and the top punchers could take far more advantage in the Ardennes stage.

Moser could surprise in one of the many sprint stages, hopefully. Didn't take Ratto in here, bodes well for the GC

Thanks for the preview, tsmoha! Grin

Please Forero do just something here... not even a win just something where you actually bother sprinting Pfft
Soler should have a decent chance to continue his so far excellent season as he has a pretty good Mountain/Hill combo compared to the other favourites which might be useful especially in the final stage where I assume the Mo/Hill ratio must be quite hilly as it doesn't look particularly mountainous?

Anyway thanks for the preview tsmoha, stage 2 is just an extremely short road stage right? I got a little shock looking at the profiles thinking it was a ghastly long TT Pfft

Not the strongest climbers line-up, so I'm expecting something from Martinez in the mountain stage. Kinney for the hills might guarantee some good results as well Wink

It's a road race indeed. I got a bit confused, too, since the MG didn't feature too many crits in stage races Wink

With at least one rider being featured in the preview, hopefully we can pull out an amazing result here

Tour of Scat laaaanndd... All riders should be forced to wear kilts and eat haggis in their musettes.

Great addition to calendar, hard to predict what will go on though. Ochoa perhaps?

Ah yes, this.
Shame to have the home team(race it was probably even created for Pfft) not here. Well, obviously they cannot be here Pfft

Looking forward to seeing some of my stage creations in action. There were a lot of new British teams so made sense to have a C2 stage race, and it was a good excuse to fit in Bealach Na Ba to the MG, as well as some other ToB stages, TMM creations, and my custom made hill stage. Pity that those British CT teams are either gone or severely inactive, already.

Should be an unpredictable race though, so hopefully a good watch.

Looking forward to see what my former riders can do here. This is a very good race for Kulhavi and with some luck he might go all the way.

And that 44 km circuit, shortest 'regular' stage in the entire season or? Shock

Mm, Umerbekov started the race perfectly for us, but then lost time, what a shame.

Pelucchi once again seemingly forgetting there was a sprint, so not really much good in the end.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.
