A tourist riding 50km/h in a professional jersey. If that's true, that guy doesn't just need a ban, that guy needs a mental hospital.
About Pologne, can we please just not use 90 degree corners with less than 100 metres to go in a sprint finish. Ever again. Can we just not?
Can people please use their minds? Or simply try to not have any kind of responsibility in life if they can't?

Meanwhile one of my favourite races in the cycling season has kicked off today. That's right, the Vuelta a Colombia is underway! South America's biggest race returns once again with the usual thermonuclear long-distance attacks, ridiculously difficult climbs, slow-motion sprints, hilarious hematocrits, terribly designed stages and epic MTTs.
After winning the last two editions - last year's edition by just a single second - Óscar Sevilla, he from back in the days of Kelme, lines up again as one of the big favourites. His main rivals will be the almost-as-ancient Fernando Camargo, who lost out to Sevilla last year after Sevilla sprinted to claim two bonus seconds at an intermediate sprint on the final flat parade stage in Medellín, and the awesome Bolivian altitude specialist Óscar Soliz, who has always been there or thereabouts but claimed an important victory in winning the Clásico RCN last year.
Robinson Chalapud is a familiar name who also lines up with a good shot at the title, having returned to the Colombian scene with Orgullo Antiqueño after three years with the Colombia PCT team, and there's the romantic's choice in José Rujano, a former winner six years ago and one of those beautiful pure climbers who has always seemed like an underfulfilled talent on cycling's big stages. However he won the Vuelta a Táchira, Venezuela's biggest race, back in January and could spring a surprise on the Colombians.
The race kicked off as last year with a TTT, this year in the capital Bogotá, and, just like last year, Sevilla's incredibly strong EPM team won again. Chalapud has only an 11 second deficit, Soliz's Movistar Team (the South American offshoot) was a minute back, and Camacho's Formesan Bogota Humana a further 30 seconds behind. Of course lots of other contenders around, but I won't bore you with further details
The route is the usual mix of weird stages, quite a few flattish stages and some with some big climbs from the finish and shallow climbs towards the end etc. Highlights are Stage 6 with the famous Alto de la Linea (22km @ 7.6%), Stage 10 with a MTF on the Alto de Minas (42km @ 4.3%), and the traditional MTT on the penultimate stage to the Alto de las Palmas (16km @ 6.7%) just above Medellín.

Vanmarcke already countered the story. Apparently, the driver just had a very peculiar way of reporting time gaps. |

I watched the Volta a Portugal stage yesterday from the 2nd last climb and it was a cracking stage, Cardoso was caught with I say 20 metres to go by his teammate who let him pass the line in 1st, the guy is no climber and the suffering on his face was massive the entire final climb so glad he hung on. They really know how to put on an exciting race in Portugal and looking forward now to the Torre stage

What a massive crash in Poland, something I sometime miss in PCM.
Have anyone seen such a huge pile-up in the game ???
Surely Modolo came across in front of Caleb.

What a huuge crash! Only nine riders aren't flying around smashed barriers and baloons (baloons on tram rails - what an idiotic idea, mr Lang!) Bole lost for a while consciousness, but reached the finish line (source: CCC rider (Rutkiewicz?) interviewed by TVP pseudo-journalist) |

I'd love to see these guys go at it in a GT.
There's probably a good reason they're not in a WT or PCT team. |
