That's weird. The Zabel'd should show up on Strydz' profile, not yours. It's as if the system thinks that Strydz' post is actually yours, and vice versa.
I think that's it, like I said, I can't rate Strydz post but I can rate my own

This sounds like a bug in the plugin. I'll take a look at it when I have the time. |

Not sure, if I like this. I admire the effort the admins have put into this, don't get me wrong. But we kinda had that problem with the posts before. Some users started to spam(at least they stopped(mostly)). Now I think a simple "fishing for likes" will happen or a "fishing for Zabels". I won't use this feature anyway, since I never used it in other forums, where it was.
Btw: We had another small feature at the forum I mentioned. I try to specify...
f.e.: I choose SSJ2Luigi for this example.
He has 4 stars:
I hope you can find them on given picture.
He is a "Grand Tour Champion". You can find that near the stars.
In the other forum, you had the choice what "Text" to put there, depending on your stars. f.e.:
I have 3 stars(I think): so I could choose between everything from 0-3 stars. I could be an U23 rider, a Tony Martin Fanboy or a Sprinter or whatever "ranks" might get added. But I cannot choose a "rank", like "Grand Tour Champion", since this is obviously a 4 star "rank"
I like this feature, since it customizes your profile a bit, but on the other hand, people who want a 5 star "rank" might try to get there as quickly as possible. But with that in mind, the admins could make ranks not straightly depending on the stars. F.e. Matt helps out alot of users, who experience Problems with PCM. So he could get the rank: "Helping Hand" or something similar, so that new users know, who to listen to. Or f.e. Shonak could get "Strava-Pro" or something like this.(I'm pretty bad with developing new names.) Also I don't have too much time, so I just wrote a quick post about my thoughts. Don't expect a fast response.

Good idea I think - although it definitely shouldn't replace posting and reduce activity on the site. I agree that the 'good idea' rating could do this at times, so maybe isn't needed as much as the others.
I think all the others are great though. The Zabel one isn't really needed either, but is a nice addition as a bit of fun. |

I really like the new additions, many thanks for the implementation  Like others I am a little concerned that it might turn into a 'fishing for likes' thing but I think we kinda strike the right note as a community anyway and will use them sensibly (famous last words... )

I think that seeing who downvoted your posts could be bad because some people take things too personal here, and then it could turn into a game of downvoting that persons post because they downvoted your post.

What do you think about a ''disagree'' button? Probably instead of the dislike button. For me getting a ''disagree'' is more reasonable than ''dislikes'' since disagree is less offensive in most cases. Also I can't think of a lot of possibilities where ''dislike'' can be used but ''disagree'' really is inapproperiate.

I think the widgets are a very nice new addition (love the zabel'd, agree that "dislike" could be changed to "disagree", usually more appropriate in a discussion forum imo).
One suggestion to further benefit especially from the like button: I think it would be great to implement a section on the start page listing the most liked posts and / or the posts with the most good idea votes of, for instance, the last 24h. That way you'd have an instant overview of some of the most interesting and valuable posts, which might also spark some interest for sections of the forum which one would usually not visit that often.
I don't know if that is doable, but since it seems to be possible to link the likes to the member profiles, maybe this idea is, too.

I allergic to it,because many of my post will be dislike very fast. User´s here didn´t understand my opinion exactly(small brain) and click quick on the dislike button.
I think, you should change the rules for rating every posts here. |
