tsmoha's stages | Tour of America

@udoi: No reason to apologize, just didn't get what you was going to tell me Wink

Stage 4 | i.imgur.com/cj6ZxbP.png Dover - Kingston (160km)
i.imgur.com/CBVXdVp.png

Notable climbs | None

The tour is heading further north for the Catskills, New York. It's becoming more interesting then, but this fourth stage is again made for sprinters to take their chances. Despite featuring the most challenging climb so far, it's still a pretty flat and easy stage here.

Stage 5 | i.imgur.com/5cSEUkh.png Saugerties - Glade Hill (151km)
i.imgur.com/7ebxjk7.png

Notable climbs | Devil's Kitchen (3.5km, 10.5%), Breath Hill (2.4km, 8.4%), Glade Hill (3.2km, 11%)

And here he go with the first uphill challenges: welcome to the Catskills! Road and mountain bicycling are popular in the range. Bicycle racing includes The Tour of the Catskills, a three-day road stage race held in Green and Ulster counties each summer.

The 'Devils Kitchen' is one brutal climb, that will be featured early into the stage. Some more short, but challenging climbs may not exactly split the bunch into pieces, but the best puncheurs in the field are likely to be at the very front, when the peloton enters the final climb up 'Glade Hill': just 3km in total, but featuring slopes up to 13%, we may expect some gaps between the very best and the rest here!

Looks great tsmoha, any chance you could convert this for PCM 2013 once it's finished?

Converting backwards is not possible.
So this would only be possible if tsmoha had used the PCM 13 stage editor to create the stages.

Wow, that looks super awesome! Great job Tsmoha Smile
I went to go look at the actual website that SN pointed out on web archives.

Spoiler
Off topic, I've heard that Sani Pass will be tarred here on the SA/Lesotho border. This gave me the idea of creating a Tour of Southern Africa. Would you be interested in creating stages for it if I made the .gpx files. Obviously on a later date though.

Stage 6 | i.imgur.com/UZnyz2M.png Pepacton Reservoir TTT (39km)
i.imgur.com/YH1uHLh.png

Notable climbs | None

The Pepacton Reservoir, also known as the Downsville Reservoir or the Downsville Dam, is a reservoir in Delaware County, New York. It is a narrow, winding reservoir that is 15 miles (24 km) long and about 0.7 miles (1.1 km) across at its widest point and supplies New York City with nearly 25% of its drinking water.

This TTT takes a loop around parts of the reservoir: a picturesque stage awaits the peloton. With 39km in total, the best timetrial squads will surely gain some valuable time here, so any GC-contender will need a strong team behind him.

Stage 7 | i.imgur.com/GaR032x.png Kingston - Mt Greylock (175km)
i.imgur.com/CZ775KM.png

Notable climbs | Mt Raimer (5.4km, 7%), Mt Greylock (14km, 5.5%)

Mount Greylock is the highest natural point in Massachusetts at 3,491 feet (1,064 m). Its peak is located in the northwest corner of the state in the western part of the town of Adams. A seasonal automobile road climbs to the summit, where stands the iconic 93-foot-high (28 m) lighthouse-like Massachusetts Veterans War Memorial Tower.

It's the first mountain stage at the end of the first week, leading us from Kingston over Albany to Massachusetts. While the Greylock ain't too steep (5.5% average), it features slopes up to 11% and may well see the premium climbers already taking over the GC. Rather expect smaller groups at the finish.. it will interesting to see, wether we will see early attacks on the challenging Mt Raimer though.

Some of those screens are beautiful, I really like the third one! The detail and effort you put into the route is amazing!

Stage 8 | i.imgur.com/cj6ZxbP.png Greenfield - Concord (187km)
i.imgur.com/wkeg2YZ.png

Notable climbs | None

After the tour's first mountain stage, the route is heading further northeast, with a flat stage leading the peloton from Greenfield to Concord, New Hampshire. It's a more challenging profile than those early flat stages, but it's flat enough to give the pure sprinters another chance to add a win or points towards their bucket.

A final short loop around Concord should be entertaining to watch, while it's a tricky finishing stretch this time: featuring a slight uphill final kilometre, the bunch sprint could be the most interesting to this point.
