Won't Cav lose a bit of his sprint speed if he keeps losing weight? Quintana is having a great season Smile

Pozzato sucks!

Ian Butler
He'll lose a little speed, but he has to, otherwise he won't make the finish in the first group.

litllemagnum
Agreed but I'm hoping for him he doesn't lose to much and gets beat in the sprint. Is Sagan riding the Olympics?

I don't know.
He'd do great, though.

Cav differs from other sprinters like Greipel and Kittel as he doesn't use his power in the sprint but the speed of his legs. This means that losing some weight doesn't have that much influence as it would have wit Greipel and Kittel for example..

Great, Tourmalet Grin

Sagan is riding Olympics Wink

2nd, yeah loosing weight will affect Cav's speed, less than if Greipel did it but it still will.

But his focus is on Olympics. He doesn't target green, he targets few stages and then backs out and lets Wiggo do his job. After Olympics he'll probably gain weight again and over winter train his sprint so he can target green next year at Tour.

I just realised that Franco Pellizotti was riding the Route du Sud. He lost 23 minutes to Quintana.

Very impressive by him. Lost three minutes due to a badly timed puncture but still came back and destroyed everyone. What an amazing talent he is. Smile

Anybody knows what happened to Cav in 16th? And where's Greipel (not in Top 20 from CQ)?

Alakagom
Cavendish didn't sprint Wink I think he did he Wiggins celebration from Dauphine if you know what I mean Wink No idea about Greipel.

Btw, this result surprised me in Slovenia. Brajko gave Pozzo win yesterday, but Brajkovic defo disappointed in the TT, beating Pozzovivo by very slim 10 seconds...

I am sure Brajko didn't go 100% and stayed safe, but still. He wins the overall though.

Stage 4, 18km TT

1. KOREN Kristjan LIQ 20'31"
2. MALORI Adriano LAM 01"
3. IMPEY Daryl GEC 17"
4. HEPBURN Michael GEC 24"
5. MOURIS Jens GEC 25"
6. BRAJKOVIC Janez AST 33"
7. BEWLEY Sam GEC 37"
8. BODNAR Maciej LIQ 38"
9. LANCASTER Brett GEC 38"
10.POZZOVIVO Domenico COG 43"
