Since I've neglected the past two week's Weekly News, I thought this one deserrves its very own news article. Two weeks ago, Crommy published the very first part of his guide to story writing articles serial. It was an introdutionary article, explaining the very basics and a few funny facts to begin with. You can still read it here.
And now, it's time for part two - "Getting from PCM to Forum" which explains how you can post a story here at PCM.daily. It's all very relevant considering the fact that the release of the PCM.daily DB has resulted in several new stories - and maybe, you, who hasn't started one yet, actually wants to write one? In that case, go and read "Crommy's Guide to Story Writing - Getting from PCM to the forum" right here.
There seems to be a problem with registration. I don't quite know the reason yet, but for now I've disabled the need for activating the user through e-mail. That should solve it - but it's only a temporary solution.
It seems like one of our servers is currently down. This is only a temporary problem - we're not out of bandwidth or anything. It will be back up very soon. Please have patience :)
Thanks.
EDIT Dankan 22:05 CET: A external server to download the PCM.daily 08.DB has been made available by V.nibali from NCL. It's a Megaupload link (I know this is not the best we could offer you), but that's already something. Many, many thanks to him. We'll make the former DL-link available ASAP.
EDIT EDIT by AaB-ern, 22:50 CET/GMT +1: Now uploaded on my PCMScandinavia server. Please enjoy. :-) It is recommended to use software like FlashGet for the download.
EDIT EDIT EDIT by CrueTrue, 23:58 CET/GMT +1: The problem is now permanently fixed, and all downloads are available again.
And yet another problem, 10:01 CET: The download was down during the night, but it's up again now.
The first couple of screenshots of the PSP-version of Pro Cycling Manager (called Pro Cycling 2008) has been released. Not much has changed from last year, it seems, but you will get more teams and races to choose from. 18 playable teams and 120 stages will be available once the game hits the stores on the 20th of June (or, well, maybe ...). Click "Read More" to see the screens.
We announced it in late November when we were celebrating PCM.daily's 1st birthday: We were going to release our very first database. It wasn't meant to be any special or large database. Actually, we just wanted to make a rather small database with a few very dominant British teams ;) Today, PCM.daily's 2008 Database is one of the most awaited databases, and therefore we are very happy to announce - it's ready to be released! :)
The whole project got a whole other perspective when Dankan became the leader of the project. He's known for his sense for detail and his perfectionistic point-of-views. He's known for the most downloaded database for PCM07, the PCM-Spain Pack 2007, and he was definitely not going to do a small, British database. We do indeed still have a bunch of British and Americans teams and races, but now it's a lot more internationally minded. And it's a true Dankan-piece-of-work.
With PCM.daily's database you will get a very complete 2008-feel for Pro Cycling Manager 2007. Let's point out a few facts:
- 97 teams - 2400 riders - 300 races (850 stages). A lot of them have 2008 profiles - 99% of the riders have updated 2008-pictures - Nearly 700 free agents - New scouting zones with revised stars system - 2 databases, one for career playing and one for single race mode.
Of course, this is not only the work of Dankan. We also have a bunch of other people to thank! Click on "Read More" to find out who worked together with us.
And to download it? Go straight to our download section! Want to watch the stats first or while downloading? Have a look here in the PCM.daily's Database Viewer.
